Welcome to thread 2 for babies due in May 2018.

Looking forward to early scans, seeing the first flutters and progressing further into the first trimester.

Hello everyone and welcome to the new joiners!

My not-really morning sickness kicked in last night with a vengeance - threw up most of the night and spent today on the sofa.

On the plus side, I finally have a midwife appointment! Took 2 weeks, but even got it for next week when I will be 8 weeks! We're going away for a long weekend that day, so hopefully it will be a good start to the holiday!

timeisnotaline · 23/09/2017 21:35

Hello zoo. Being due end makes me quite behind - I'm a bit jealous of all of you who are 8 weeks already when I'm almost 5! Which feels so ridiculously early that I feel a bit like I shouldn't even think I am pregnant.

Zoo33 · 23/09/2017 21:46

Hi @timeisnotaline. I'm due 31st, so I definitely know what you mean. Keep thinking I'll wake up tomorrow and realise I made it all up. I'm probably a bit premature in joining this thread but I want to tell everyone already (I'm hoping that posting here might help suppress that urge, at least until I'm a bit further on).

NancyNoo32 · 24/09/2017 07:46

Hi all. 6 weeks today and still no real nausea (with DD I was sick bang on 6 weeks at 2am, I know it's silly but was kind of expecting it to be the same this time). Like others of you I'm a bit worried about lack of symptoms, but I do have extreme tiredness- literally no motivation to do anything. Which is a shame, as I'm a full time teacher! Could somebody send a link to the Facebook group if there is one please? My group for DD has been amazing over the last couple of years, and am now 'real life' friends with quite a few of them. It's great to have a hive mind to turn to whenever you have a problem/question, big or small! Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

Piewraith · 24/09/2017 08:38

This nausea is unbearable. How are people managing being at work? I have a pretty active job (nurse) and every minute there is horrible. 8 hours feels like 8 years. I can't cope feeling this shit and being on my feet all day. When there's only 8 hours between shifts it's even worse (finish at midnight, start at 8am the next day). I called in sick for my night shift. I know I'm being such a wuss about it all but it's so hard.

Morning all,
Been awake since 5 with bad cramps then about 30 minutes ago started passing clots.
Currently in my way to a&e but I'm expecting the worse

LadyPug · 24/09/2017 08:56

Oh no Daisymay hope you're ok! Thinking of you!

timeisnotaline · 24/09/2017 09:00

Oh dear daisy hoping not!

Zoo33 · 24/09/2017 09:11

Oh no Daisy, keeping everything crossed for you!

Poppy012 · 24/09/2017 09:19

@daisy oh no, Really hope everything is ok!

Aggy106 · 24/09/2017 09:35

daisy hope everything is ok and you've got someone with you in a&e.

Dorotha · 24/09/2017 09:39

@NancyNoo32 send me your email address and I'll add you.

Poppy012 · 24/09/2017 09:40

Could I be added to the Facebook group as well please?

timeisnotaline · 24/09/2017 09:48

Me too if there is a fb group. I really want to tell people but definitely shouldn't yet.

Zoo33 · 24/09/2017 10:13

Me too please! I'm dying to tell people but know I shouldn't. Next dim question - how do I send a message on this thing??

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 24/09/2017 10:16

Sorry to hear that daisy - keeping everything crossed for you.

Piewraith so far my nausea has been mostly at evenings and weekends, so avoided work. Which sucks, but at least it means I don't have to say anything until I'm ready

DaisyMay25 · 24/09/2017 11:11

Thanks ladies, they said they were confident it wasn't a miscarriage but booked me into an early pregnancy assessment unit for a scan and an assessment on Tuesday morning so hopefully more answers.
Since getting back I've been passing more red blood with clots so I'm still panicking. I called the unit and the said to keep an eye on it and if I'm passing clots as big as my fist or bleeding through two pads in an hour to wait until my appointment on Tuesday.
In all honesty it feels like my period is just two weeks late which is weird but I've got the cramps and the usual bleeding.
I've called in sick for work tomorrow so I can relax but I'm just not convinced everything is okay.

DaisyMay25 · 24/09/2017 11:13

They did another test there which was of course positive
And there was no infection too.
They explained it's possibly my cervix expanding and that's what's causing the blood and cramps. I guess that makes sense but my paranoia disagrees.
I'll find out first thing Tuesday either way.

MotherOfBoy · 24/09/2017 11:30

Oh goodness daisy crossing my fingers that all is ok for you that sounds so very stressful and upsetting. Hoping today and Monday pass quickly for you so you can have some answers.

pie I am really struggling with nausea at work. I find constantly sipping water and snacking helps. I am worried tho as I am away with work this week tues eve til thurs eve and in meetings most of those days. Not sure how I'm going to manage as clearly can't snack in meetings... plus my boss is staying over with me too so I will have to have dinner with him etc sure he will guess something's up.

Spending afternoon in bed today as nausea is here with a vengeance and I am so so tired! Luckily toddler is asleep too atm tho not sure how long that will last!

cautiousoptimist1 · 24/09/2017 13:04

Oh gosh daisy, what a worrying time. I hope the next 2 days passes quickly for you so you get answers on Tuesday. Take care of yourself.

Oh daisy that must be so worrying, hoping all is well.

Pie I can't remember now who said further up the thread that they went to the docs for some anti sickness meds, could be worth a shout if you're feeling really rubbish?

MooChops89 · 24/09/2017 13:18

piewrath my nausea seems to be fine in the day and worse in the evenings so I'm making it through work so far, but I'm on nights next week so don't know how that's gonna go! I've told my ward manager now in case I do struggle. I'm full time and the long shifts on labour ward are hard enough as it is!

timeisnotaline · 24/09/2017 14:30

pie I couldn't manage at all with my first, tried lots of drugs - they all work differently for different people. None of them were amazing for me but they did mean I could go to work 3-4 days a week as opposed to barely being able to get out of bed. Do see the go. I will be in at my gps as soon as I can after it hits this time around, I'm so stressed about work.

cautiousoptimist1 · 24/09/2017 14:34

My nausea seems to be linked to tiredness. My DD was awake for 3 hours overnight Shock so I'm shattered today and my nausea has ramped back up again. I had a decent sleep the night before and felt much better throughout the day. So I just need my DD to sleep longer!

Firework83 · 24/09/2017 15:40

I feel you all too. I'm 8+2 now and for the last 10 days felt horrific. Not actually been sick though weirdly but constantly feeling I need to. Went to IKEA yesterday, it wiped me out and I slept for 11hrs last night!

I find snacking on biscuits (or garlic bread which I just did now) helps and yes rest also. At work I'm more distracted so it's not as bad... hope I haven't jinxed that now. Not sure how I'm gonna get through this first trimester!!! Please God let it subside after that...
