Captain Dippy - great news on strp B results

Congrats Yvie on your baby girl - hope all is well.

Why are so many of these babies smaller than my smallest twin?

Bramshott - I am mixed feeding now, from 3 days old. Breast from 1st morning feed (6-7am) until 8pm feed. Then approx 2/3 bottles of Aptamil in the night. Really struggled with expressing and I am too exhausted to feed the twins exclusivley.

Will try and get back on later

EllieKthePA · 05/04/2007 13:27

i'm in awe of you feeding them as mch as you are from the breast oooggs, i struggled with one 'biggish' baby, 2 is bloody impressive

Pesha - that is my social life for 2007 (and one is a stag do that I'm not even going to!)

KatyTheProcrastinator · 05/04/2007 13:44

Yes, Elie, you wouldn't want to go covered in feathers and ants!

Eddas · 05/04/2007 13:52

Afternoon Congrats to Yvie very The 21st now that really is puching in

Hensden, i will expect to see you in maidstone hospital and i will slap you if you come in after me and have yours first!!!!!

Oh and stretchmarks, just a few I tell people I don't have a tummy anymore just lots of stretchmarks and no there are no new ones this time as my tummy couldn't possible have anymore, lol!!

No sign of this bloody labour coming on anytime soon so off to tidy dd's room, and maybe clean the oven in the hope that me keeping busy will spur the little sod to get out

nuttygirl · 05/04/2007 13:57

Oh Eddas...I want mine out too...do I really have to resort to housework tho????

maveta · 05/04/2007 14:31

Oi CD - meanie! Well you´re beating me on the weight front, I´m up to about 2 stone now with no signs of slowing down. Fully expect to top 2.5 stone by the time I pop. eek.

Congrats Yvie!! I´ve got a boy! I´ve got a boy! Does that mean I can be next? Only in the interests of evening up the odds, you know...

Hi Bramshott, 1b3, Oooggs, great to see you all girls and you sound like you are all doing really well with your new bubbas, it really is great to hear from you all.

Hello everybody else, sorry I´ve replied so little but I can´t remember anything else!! x

KatyTheProcrastinator · 05/04/2007 14:36

Never thought of that maveta! I've got a boy too - you're right, they need us to be next for statistical purposes!

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 14:36

Housework nearly finished ..... Feeling very puffed!

It'll be nice to have a haircut! Haven't had one in almost a year!!

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 14:37

Maveta - I put on just over 3 stone with my 1st!!

Oooggs - sounds like you are doing fabulously - glad they are mixed feeding ok - The only reason these singletons are so small is cos they are early - I am glad your two were big and healthy!!

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 14:38

Oooooh, there was one important thing I miss off my hospital Bag list btw - Muslins!! Can't believe I nearly forgot those - got through about 100 a day with DD2!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 05/04/2007 14:39

Thanks for looking in Birdiebump. I've had 2 go to 17 days, those are my longest. It looks like this one is also going to cause me trouble. It's truely amazing how very very uncomfortable you get once you get to 42 weeks. Everything hurts, especially the old piles .

1becomes3 · 05/04/2007 14:41

Congrats Yvie
I asked for another baby to be born and low and behold I come back and there is another one!

Hi Ooooggs how are you Dt's have you got any pictures? Love to see them.
How are you doing with BF 2 babies, i'm only bf 1 the other is on expressed milk as he isn't much of a sucker, means I have my boobs out a hell of a lot with feeding and expressing.

I have no idea what has been happening on the threads I have missed since the DT's arrival, some how i don't think I will ever be able to catch up.
Oh well as long as i can still make it onto here for at least 1 afternoon a week I will be happy with that.
So you will have to excuse my rather impersonal posts.

I was going to start up a "April post-natal club" thread for those who have their little bundles of sleeepless nights and dirty nappies and anyone with any advice for them.
Of course we will still be posting on here but all the boring baby chat can be held on there.

What does everyone think?

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 14:42

Hope he / she comes soon kitty honey!

Hi 1B3!

RIGHT - really am going to go and finish the hoovering now ..... ....

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 14:44

Ooooh Kitty - Are you in Brighton? I am v.near (just tok a sneeky peek at your profile - gorgeous children! )

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 14:45

I am doing the hoovering.

Honest.

muminamassivetummy · 05/04/2007 14:45

Oh My God - I can't beleive Yvie has had her baby - she was due same day as me CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I am now officially crapping myself lol!

GMM and Maveta - re stretchmarks, I echo what everyone else has said, it's upsetting to get them but there is so little that can be done, they really do fade x

Mossie and Kitty and everyone else who is overdue - thinking of you and hope you don't have too much longer to wait now.

Mumcab - I thought the raspberry leaf tea tasted ok (can't stomach any fruit teas normally) but in my opinion it did absolutley bugger all....haven't even bothered this time (but am having elective c sec anyhow).

Bramshott, lovely to hear from you and I hope your day with the kids is still going ok.

Dippy - FANTASTIC news re your StrepB result and the fact you have got to 37 weeks - so pleased for you adn also the really smashing news of your friend and the twins.

Can you tell I took notes today?

Pesha - totaly sympathise re the breathlessness. I had my eyebrows waxed on Monday and had to get up half way through as I just could not lie down even with my top half slightly raised - I thought I was going to pass out. I felt like a right plank!

Ooogs - great to hear from you too and fingers crossed re Jacks weight...speaking of which....had MW appointment this morning and she estimated that if I had this baby today she reckons it will be a weight of 8lb 5 oz!!!!! and she reckons if I last till my section on 16th April it will be 8 pounds 12 oz...... glad it's coming through the sun roof!!!!
She also thinks it's a boy!

Bramshott - that BF book I got recommends introducing the bottle pretty early on...it reckons nipple confusion is twaddle....I would go for it and give it a whirl.

Ellie - glad your back - what did they say? take it all is ok?

SOSPL - V Jelous of you getting to pet some calves, hope you had a lovely afternoon with B.

James is at grandmas for a few hours so I'm off to have a kip...I took him with me for the first time to the midwife today - he heard the heartbeat and everything. Bless him when we came out he asked me "Is the baby better now Mummy". It's the first time he has asked about baby or really acknowledged it so I think it was a good thing that he came.

Right I've waffled on for long enough...

Hi to everyone else I've not personally mentioned.
xxx

KatyTheProcrastinator · 05/04/2007 14:48

PMSL at "coming through the sun roof!!!! "
Why does your MW think it's a boy? You didn't have a scan did you?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 05/04/2007 14:49

Thanks muminamassivetummy

CaptainDippy, I live in Falmer, 10 mins out of the centre of Brighton. Where are you if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks, re the kids, they are for sale though if you're imterested, I could do a bulk discount

KatyTheProcrastinator · 05/04/2007 14:52

kitty - you're scaring us first timers with talk of selling your kids on the internet! At least do it properly through the for sale board

muminamassivetummy · 05/04/2007 14:53

Hi Katy

She just said that was her feeling. She didn't scan me...she was going off heart rate and size I think...
She wishes she has scanning equipment she reckons she could make a fortune! lol

Have to say...she guessed correct last time....within 2 oz...and she said a boy last time too and it of course was?! Well only time will tell!

Have to say I really felt for Pinions yesterday when she was saying about the lack of care from her midwife team. I must be VERY lucky, I have seen same midwife all way through and built up a fab relationship with her. She even made me take her personal mobile number today to text her when I have baby as she is on hols. I really have felt more than just "a number". It is such a great shame that NHS care is so hit and miss.....

KatyTheProcrastinator · 05/04/2007 14:56

That is nice of her (the mobile number I mean) - shows she really cares rather than just doing a job.

octo · 05/04/2007 15:08

Afternoon all - the boys have crashed out - so popped on quickly

CONGRATULATIONS YIVE well done!

aarrargghhhh they're awake - that was shortlived peace and quiet!
