I am the opposite to you Pesha - my stretchmarks are all at the bottom and none on the top (except the ones round my bellybutton)....

Pesha · 05/04/2007 11:07

Forgot to say lovely to hear from you Bramshott, glad your mornings going so well

Need to start taking notes again Im forgetting everything!

Have to go and do things now, been putting it off too long but dp is officially moving in this weekend so need to clear some space for all his crap! Will be back later to see how ellies got on.

maveta · 05/04/2007 11:08

Morning!

GMM - I think you´re totally normal for worrying, especially as it´s our first. I´m sure on the 2nd and 3rd or whatever you have kind of got over yourself a little (or not - ladies?) but I am also a bit worried about what my body will look like afterwards. I do feel really vain for worrying about it but I´m sure it´s normal and I do think that once we´re busy with our little ones we´ll barely have time to give it a thought.

I don´t have any stretchmarks yet but I know they could pop out at any time.. I´ve been oiling and oiling and really if they still come, there´s nothing more i could do. I got tons on my thighs and the top of my bum when I had a growth spurt as a teenager and they faded really quickly. I was self conscious about them for ages and then one day I noticed you could barely see them. So they do go away (well, practically). Chin up, am sure like Katy44 said, it´ll be more you that is bothered than your dp so you have to make sure you don´t care! xx

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 11:11

Maveta!! hope they come on your overdue date!!!

hotlipsmummy · 05/04/2007 11:15

Morning everyone.

No babies overnight I see !!!

LOL at CD and Katy and the bag packing. Am sitting here very quietly NOT packing mine. Have been adding a little each day and am more or less packed in terms of the "post labour" bag. Just need to put in tioletries and some clean clothes to come home in. Still need to pack "labour" bag and will try to attempt that today. Ummmm, think I'm in denial slightly...

Am v.lucky re stretch marks and don't seem to have any. But then I wasn't the slimmest person to start with so have prob got "baggy" skin already. Plus have only just got to the stone mark for weight gain so think I might have swapped some blubber for baby. Hope so - that happened with DS then it all piled on whilst bf-ing. Am determined not to make the same mistake again!

Fingers crossed that Ellie comes back fom the hospital with some reassuring news...

COME ON BABIES!

Katy44 · 05/04/2007 11:17

CD - my mum is coming round this weekend, so I'll definitely have to have it done by then or she'll stand over me until it's packed!

Katy44 · 05/04/2007 11:18

She's probably bought a load of stuff herself and packed a bag for me already actually

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 11:22

LOL @ you mum Katy - she sounds like a feisty one!!

Only putting on a stone so far is good HLM! I've put on about a stone and a half, I think; but my Bump isn't huge and I haven't put on any weight anywhere else - Have been quite sicky throughout this PG as well though....

oooggs · 05/04/2007 11:26

Congrats Ange - love the name - finding it really difficult to keep up so sorry I am struggling with the persinal touch. I seem to have my hands full no idea why!!!!

Things are getting better, not easier, just more organised. Both being weighed this afternoon, Jack is on the border of losing more than 10% of birth weight so have been trying to feed him up as don't want to be readmitted. I think I have seen enough of the hospital thank you.

Thank God for pre-school xxxxxxxxxxx

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 11:30

Oooggs, good to "see" you hon - Don't worry about not being able to keep up - You have got two very good excuses!!! Praying Jacks porks up quickly hon ....

Eeeeeek!! The post has just come ..... StrepB result!!!!!?

Neighbours are playing banging type music v.v.v.loudly next door - driving me insane ..... ....

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 11:32

Nope. No result. Just Polling Cards for the Election and two Bank Statements. It was supposed to take 48hrs max and I sent it Sun, so going to give them a call and see what is going on .......

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 11:34

Just has text from ElliethePA - she is fine! She is shopping and will be back later to fill you all in further ....

Katy44 · 05/04/2007 11:37

Good, thanks for letting us know!

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 11:37

Just called the Lab - It was negative!!

Yippee!

Katy44 · 05/04/2007 11:38
Grin
Katy44 · 05/04/2007 11:39

Well good news is meant to come in 3s, so who is going to have a baby today to finish it off?
...Eddas...??

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 11:40

How about you Katy?? Care to obligue!!?

Bramshott · 05/04/2007 11:40

Still lurking this morning - must get off computer and give DD1 some attention before DD2 wakes up!

Quick question for those of you who've successfully mixed-fed in the past - at what stage did you introduce a bottle? We could never get DD1 to take a bottle and it was quite a stress, and as I'm going back to work when Orla is 5 months-ish, she's going to have to be more flexible! Breastfeeding is going well, but I don't want to confuse the issue, but neither do I want to leave it too late (which I suspect is where we went wrong with Niamh). Any tips? Is it too early to try expressing and offering a bottle of EBM?

1becomes3 · 05/04/2007 11:42

Sorry no time to catch up, is such madness round here, but we are getting there.

Congratulations angeg love the name, is the same as my mum.

Hope everyone else is good and well, lets get some more babies out shall we.

I may be able to pop back on later for a bit but now I have a feeding frenzy about to start so have to go do DD lunch before the DT's wake up.

Katy44 · 05/04/2007 11:46

I'd love to - but he seems fairly happy where he is, plus I haven't trimmed my LTRF.
Not to mention packed that &*%^& bag.
Going to change my name to KatyTheProcrastinator.

Could I have some opinions please as to whether this is reasonable.
DH's cousin is having his stag do 2 days before my EDD. It's karting in the afternoon and then meal and drinks on the night. DH isn't sure whether to go or not. I think he should go as it's only an hours drive away (at the worst, and he is going to drive), go to the karting, the meal, for a couple of drinks and then come back. At worst, my contractions will have started that day. Obviously if they start before he goes, we can change plans at the last minute. Does this seem reasonable.

The other thing is, he has a work summer party about 4 hours away in July. It's a big formal affair (they're putting everyone who goes up in a 4* hotel ). Bump could be 10 weeks old then. Are we stupid for even considering it, or will it be fine? Again, I'd drive between the hotel and the party venue, so could always make my excuses if I have to leave with the LO.

Katy44 · 05/04/2007 11:47

Shall I just put my social diary online and you can all go through it for me?

CaptainDippy · 05/04/2007 11:49

I introduced a bottle within the 2nd week of having both my girls. DD1 fed happily from breast or bottle (I only offered EBM, not formula on these occasions) - Dd2 had major feeding issues anyway - so her reaction doesn't count! No - I don't think it is too early to introduce Orla to the bottle - It can't hurt - give it a go!

Hi 1B3!!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 05/04/2007 11:49

So many posts!

Good to hear from you Oogs and Bramshott.

Delighted Ellie is ok.

Stretchmarks - mmmm. I have more like large gouges around my belly button which developed when I had Becky, and tbh I am not bothered if I have got any more.
Probably won't be saying that in a few months!!

Mossie, good luck with the sweep.

CD, really pleased your strepB is negative - must be a relief.

Hope everyone else is ok - apologies for not mentioning everyone. Running out of time before having to pick B up from preschool.

Just had my lovely friend/mw over and all seems in order - 1/5th engaged. May be a possibility of a uti, but need to drop a pee sample at the GP's.

Right, really need to get stuff done. Back later on. Going to a farm this afternoon to pet calves etc. I think I get more enjoyment from it than B!

Bramshott · 05/04/2007 11:57

Thanks CD - that's really useful. I'll give the breast pump a go over the weekend! DH is worried it will make her "go off" breastfeeding, but I can't see that it would when she clearly knows what she is doing and is feeding well.

nuttygirl · 05/04/2007 11:59

Morning!

SOSPL - have fun at the farm.

Lovely to hear from all of you who've given birth already.

Glad Ellie is ok.

Stretchmarks - I have them under my bump at the sides and my belly button looks wierd where it used to be pierced.

I'm so bored...want my baby NOW!!!
