We had our gender scan yesterday and we’re having another boy 😁 so excited now!

bondbaby · 15/10/2017 13:18

Thanks Yeti! To be fair I don't feel 'old' Lucky to have had a pretty easy time so far, no sickness or anything, my biggest complaint is teenage style acne at the moment. Even had enough energy to go for a run a couple of times this week. Long may it continue!

ScarletSienna · 15/10/2017 14:14

Ah congrats, Crispy on the boy news.
Bond, I think there’s a few of us 35+. I don’t feel old either. Well maybe a bit!

Would quite like a bump now. I worry about everything so seeing a change would help!

MissYeti · 15/10/2017 15:14

For those asking you need to pm @lpmd to join the Facebook group. Think you need to send her your Facebook email so she can send you an invite

ScarletSienna · 15/10/2017 15:25

Thanks Ueti. I’ll try that way again but include my Facebook info.

Anyone else ever have moments of worry when they panic it’s not going right? I’m sure it’s the lack of bump and symptoms but I’m constantly worried. I think reading a thread where someone had a post 12 week scan missed miscarriage has made me realise you’re never quite out of the woods.

olicat · 15/10/2017 15:39

Sienna aaalll the time. Don't think I will relax until baby is here, and then there's a whole new set of worries! Just trying to take each milestone as it comes and enjoy it.

ScarletSienna · 15/10/2017 15:41

I think I need to stop looking for things to read that will make me worry. I’d book a reassurance scan but I know I’d only feel reassured whilst there!

RosesForBadgers · 15/10/2017 19:56

I'm here, just been staying quiet until I have something else to say than just moaning about nausea! Still taking over my life at the moment... I'm 34, baby #2, due 31 March and I'm from Manchester waves at @bondbaby**

Sunshinesaz86 · 15/10/2017 20:10

Oh yeah and from Staffordshire sorry

LivLemler · 16/10/2017 10:06

Morning all. I'm hiding from Ophelia by working from home, and also ignoring the cold I'm clearly getting. Hope everyone's well. I'm doing well, sickness pretty much gone, just a bit tired and scarily bloated on bad diet days!

33, baby #1, in NI, EDD 12 April, team yellow for now.

Aspenn17 · 16/10/2017 10:47

Quick question for any ladies who may have already had their 16 wk appointment with the midwife- what happens in that appt? Trying to decide whether DH needs to bother taking time off work to come with me or if it's just a quick check up?

Sam91TRS15 · 16/10/2017 11:10

I had mine today aspenn. She checked my blood pressure and that was it... That was after my online maternity notes telling me my appointment was at 8.30 but was actually at 9.30! Biggest waste of time and as I can't drive because of my foot I then had to stand in the rain with a wet foot waiting for a bus Sad
My midwife said they will check heartbeat at my next appointment at 24 weeks

twiddlerthefidget · 16/10/2017 13:41

I'm 34 in south wales. 2nd baby but huge gap sonce the first so feel like its #1 again! Team yellow and not sure yet if we want to find out later on. (But I think it's a girl).

fitbitbore · 16/10/2017 15:08

I'm 34 in south Wales and this is my second. Will find out tomorrow what team we're on. Due date Is march 30th!

MrsDneedsaB · 16/10/2017 15:26

@Aspenn17 my midwife told me that they would be trying to listen to the heartbeat in my 16 week appt, as she told me that I'd want to bring my husband to this one. I guess it's different in every area though.

Mine is on Wednesday so I'll let you know what happens!

What's up with this eerie crazy weather! Hope everyone nearer to Ophelia are ok

Thelostsock · 16/10/2017 15:35

Hi @Aspenn17, I had heart rate checked at mine but that's because I'd had a fall. She said they wouldn't normally. Other than that it was still all over in 15 minutes after she'd got access to my veins!

Thelostsock · 16/10/2017 15:35

Also I wonder how many Ophelia's will be born today

LivLemler · 16/10/2017 15:54

Or conceived Grin

harrietm87 · 16/10/2017 16:11

That's disappointing those of you who didn't get to hear a heartbeat at 16 week appointment! Mine is next Monday and I was looking forward to it! All my symptoms have gone (I feel great so shouldn't complain!), it's too early to feel movements, and I still don't have a bump so kind of can't believe I'm pregnant right now - was hoping for a bit of reassurance!

ScarletSienna · 16/10/2017 18:31

Harrietm87, I’d love a bump for reassurance too. In my last pregnancy, the midwife said she would try and listen for a heart beat but that I mustn’t worry if she couldn’t pick it up. Apparently, even midwives can confuse the umbilical cord pulse for a heart beat so they won’t say it’s definitely the baby unless they have no doubt. I recorded it on my phone for my husband to hear.

boatrace30 · 16/10/2017 18:34

I had heartbeat checked. Will be honest, I thought it was pretty standard!

Sunshinesaz86 · 16/10/2017 18:52

Yes they listen in at 16 weeks around here. I recorded it on phone for DP with DS. I've had two midwives listen in at 13 & 14 weeks also due to the fact I'm still spotting brown. Was good to hear!
I've definitely got a bump going on now! X

olicat · 16/10/2017 19:27

I feel like my bump is too big for being only 13 weeks but have an anteverted uterus (I know this is pretty common but mine seems reaaally far forward and this ties in with no one being able to find my cervix ever!) Plus an anterior placenta so don't know if that makes a difference. Was told it was low at my scan so hoping it doesn't slip down and turn into a praevia!
