Oh sock that's not good, did they give you a scan? I'm glad baby is well, how are you feeling? What's antiD? Something for your fall?

olicat · 11/10/2017 18:11

It's if your blood is rhesus negative (mine is too!) You need a routine injection at 28 weeks and then further ones if you have any trauma to your stomach. Hope all is well sock

Thelostsock · 11/10/2017 18:26

Yes I had a scan and placenta all still ok and baby moving so the Anti-D is just precautionary. Yes normally as rhesus negative I wouldn't need it until 28 weeks but having it earlier due to the trauma. Stops the body from rejecting the baby if their blood is different.

Whilst dr, midwives and everyone have told me it's all ok, I just can't seem to believe them. Feeling awful and nervous.

fitbitbore · 11/10/2017 18:45

@Bananamama1213 I remember a leaflet coming left on my desk about being aware of pregnant patient s on sodium valproate. They have been new studies on it and it's not as safe as once thought in pregnancy. Hope they find a suitable alternative for you.

FairfaxAikman · 12/10/2017 09:38

I really feel for you Banana.
I really worry about the effects of medication on pregnancy so it must be horrendous to find out something you were told was safe might not be.

Sam91TRS15 · 12/10/2017 17:41

We had our scan today, all went well and we are having a little boy!

FairfaxAikman · 12/10/2017 17:58

Was it a private scan Sam?

Our anomaly scan isn’t till early December (just before my birthday)

I am itching to find out as (due to circumstances in my past) I hate surprises/ the unknown.

Got a unique gender reveal planned though - going to rope in team mates from my hobby.

fitbitbore · 12/10/2017 18:32

Ahh the first gender is revealed. I've got a gender scan next week I cannot wait cos I'm so impatient ha

Sam91TRS15 · 12/10/2017 18:34

Yeah it was a private scan as I am only 16 weeks. We have a really good offer on where it's only £39 for the scan!
I never found out with DD, it's actually a bit weird knowing so early! But will be nice to organise the nursery and get some boy clothes!

MissYeti · 12/10/2017 19:55

Nugget definitely didn't want to be bothered this morning, head pointing away, sonographer in my hip trying to get a good imagine, lots of hip wiggling, a lovely nugget somersault and bum shot and eventually an internal scan cuz the angle just wasn't good enough 😥 eventually got all measurements and everything looks good. Was worried cuz heartbeat looked really faint but all the activity put me at ease. EDD moved forward a day! 23rd April now! No nub to be seen unfortunately.

Congrats MissYeti! Lovely pics. And Congrats on your little boy Sam!

We found out this evening, everything came back low risk and..... it's a Girl ! So excited!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 12/10/2017 20:51

Ooh, good day all round!
Congrats Sam! Boys are amazing Smile
And yay Aspenn! Girls are amazing too Grin
And hurray MissYeti! Beautiful photos, baby doing a little pout for you. Sounds like a right palaver but great that everything looked good in the end.

We also had our scan today - we were the polar opposite and baby behaved beautifully, we were in and out in 15 minutes with everything done! Got to see everything, teeny tiny feet and hands, face, the works, it was amazing! Feel like I can start to relax & enjoy it all now.
Anyone else aiming for a surprise? We've found out with both the others but I love the idea of a surprise when baby is born, so going to try and keep it a secret this time.

Oh wow @Sam and @Aspenn we've one of each on the thread now. A great day! Lovely photos, you too @GlenaCoco. Glad baby was behaving!
I had a surprise last time and it was lovely but DH sent out his cute little message while I was still under GA after EMCS, still bothers me that others knew before me Blush. Will find out this time as it will be a help to know whether I can put DS clothes to good use elsewhere or start getting them organised. He's 10 mo now so we'd have everything sorted for another little boy. Or if it's a girl I could start a little bit of shopping. 20 week appointment in three weeks!

boatrace30 · 12/10/2017 21:36

Lots of exciting news today 😊

And we'll be having a surprise!

OP posts:
Thelostsock · 12/10/2017 21:57

We're going for a surprise too but I keep wobbling and wondering if we should just find out!

harrietm87 · 12/10/2017 22:14

Congrats all! Same here @boatrace30 - we're having a surprise too! Pretty sure it's a boy though!

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 13/10/2017 06:46

Lovely photos!!
Exciting for those that have found out - will mostly likely be a surprise for us - DH had briefly mentioned finding out but as back to a surprise

Anyone had their flu jab yet?

boatrace30 · 13/10/2017 07:29

Yes I have - make sure you do everyone, I heard they are expecting a bad flu season this year

OP posts:
FairfaxAikman · 13/10/2017 07:42

I need to have one but struggling to fit it in as I work 40 miles from where I live and Jane to have it a gps surgery.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 13/10/2017 07:48

I’m going to phone the Drs today. If you are in England the boots will do your jab for free on behalf of your GP - would be much easier but they don’t offer this in Scotland Sad

Aspenn17 · 13/10/2017 08:34

My GPs are doing a Saturday morning clinic just for flu jabs so I'm having mine tomorrow morning. Hope it doesn't make me feel rough!

Sam91TRS15 · 13/10/2017 08:38

Yeah I had mine a couple of weeks ago. I did get a bad cold after it but it came on really soon after and DD had it too so I think I was already getting it before the jab.
The only times I haven't gotten the jab I have got flu. And I had the flu around the time I got pregnant with the baby I miscarried so it might not be linked but in my head I think that was a major factor. Plus they have that scary advert on the radio just now linking flu to stillbirth so if I hadn't had it I think that would have scared me into getting it!

boatrace30 · 13/10/2017 08:48

I had no effects at all apart from a slightly sore arm. It's not a live vaccine so shouldn't make you feel ill

OP posts:
Thelostsock · 13/10/2017 09:57

Sore arm here too but that was all. And probably more related to the lady taking the word jab very literally!
