Has anyone else had an episode of shooting star type lights in their eyes? It's only lasted ten seconds but I've had it once today and one early this week.
I had protein in my urine last week but normal blood pressure.
Also slightly worried the pressure on my right rib isn't baby like I first thought as Google tells me all those signs together aren't good.

I'll ring the midwife unit shortly but wondered if anyone else had experience those lights?

@disinterested atleast if you manage till Jan you get the January sales to buy in when everything is half price, 36 weeks for you would still be December though wouldn't it?

@Rosehyd2 not had the starryeyes but I've had pressure on my rib which I'm co fident is baby as it coincided with movement, try not to Google too much, you can have a sore toe and according to googl3 be on your death bed, If your worried call and get checked over it's better to put your mind at rest if nothing else xx

Aww @Disinterested how stressful for you . Sounds like it's all under control but what a nightmare with all those appointments. DS was born at 35 weeks and apart from being small he was perfectly healthy, so fingers crossed you make it to 36. It's amazing how well babies cope being early!

@Rosehyd2 I had visual disturbances when I had preeclampsia. It looked like glitter to me. However by the time I saw this I had already been admitted to hospital so was quite severe. It's probably absolutely nothing but definitely get checked if it'll reassure you. You should order a monitor so you can keep your eye on BP at home. If you were OK at last appointment that's a good sign it's nothing serious.

@Rosehyd2 just to say would def get your symptoms checked - even in absence of raised blood pressure, protein in urine, visual disturbances and right rib pain (I.e close to liver) rings warning bells for pre-eclampsia and some of its associations. You should expect to be asked to go in for full set of bloods ('PET bloods') as well as them checking BP, urine and examining you for swelling, liver tenderness and possibly reflexes in your legs.

None of those tests are anything to be afraid of but much better to catch early if it is something brewing. Of course may just be coincidence and may be not at all significant so please don't let my post worry you, but as pre-eclampsia and its complications can be serious for mum and baby so would like to know you've been thoroughly assessed! Oh and don't google too much Hope you don't mind me piping up and let us know how you go x

Can anyone help sorry if tmi but worrying ! On two occasions today I have had the slightest dot of red in discharge earlier and tiny dot of pink in discharge just ! Literally no more than a pen dot on a page should I call midwife or is this something to worry about ?

@springchicken discharge is normal and I'm sure most of the ladies on here will admit to some (I know I've had more than usual)! But if you're concerned it really can't hurt to call your ward and ask, if only to put your mind at ease :).

@millsbynight - at my last scan they changed my due date to the 25th of January and I forgot to update you, sorry! although he's definitely going to be here sooner than that!

@SJ I think 36 will be the very beginning of January, good thinking with the sales!

@waitingonasmile thank you! Probably a really silly question, but did you have to buy your son many smaller outfits? I'm worried nothing we have is going to fit him so glad your boy was well :)

@Disinterested yes we got smaller clothes from Mothercare. Normal sizes absolutely drowned him. I think by about 6 weeks he was in newborn sizes and by 12 weeks was almost 10 pounds .

PREGNANCY INSOMNIA 😒😒😒

I’ve been up at 5.30am for the last 3 or 4 days. Urghhhhhhhhhh

@millsbynight solidarity! I was awake for ages in the middle of the night last night and a bit the night before too, couldn't get comfy and just wasn't able to sleep. Finally got back to sleep this morning about 4.30. Hope this isn't a permanent change, I'm not ready to go back to regular night wake-ups until this baby's actually here!! Will definitely be maxing out my caffeine quota today...

@disinterested my daughter was born at 33+5 and she was also perfectly healthy and well, just on the small side, and has absolutely no lingering issues now (she's really tall for her age!). Hope that gives you some reassurance if baby has to come early. In terms of smaller clothes, lots of places do tiny baby clothes and M&S has four different sizes smaller than newborn, depending on weight (goes down to 3lbs I think!) so if you're early, you can send someone out to pick some up for you. I did have a friend who had her baby at 36 weeks and he was over 7lbs! So you might not need it. So sorry you're having to go through all this stress, fingers crossed the rest of your pregnancy goes as smoothly as possible.

Hi All... little bit of help and advice?

So I had my GTT on Monday and have now been diagnosed with GD, saw the consultant on Wednesday who said I could try adjusting my diet for two weeks but if I had 3 or more readings out of range I needed to contact them and arrange to go on Metformin.

I have ulcerative colitis (like chrons) and one of the side effects of Metformin is that it can have an impact on bowls which again I’m only just managing to keep the UC under control.

I really though I might be able to keep the GD under control with diet alone but I seem to be having really low readings before meals with a huge spike after eating even simple stuff.

I work full time and think I’m going to struggle managing my diet whilst being at work. Plus my reading are so low in the mornings I actually shouldn’t be driving.

Don’t know what to do for the best?

Did they make an appt for you to see a dietician?

Anybody else wide awake? Had a long day for my partners uncles funeral so been awake and on the go since 7am, finally made it to bed at 12:30 with the other half saying be wouldn't be long, we have a 2 hour drive home tomorrow early afternoon so he can sleep before working a night shift and my mums asthma is currently not at its best so would of liked to get home handy so i know she is ok but woke up at 3 with no sign so had to call him an tell him to stop drinking an come to bed, after half an hour (and a bit more nagging) he did but was trying to have a chat and cuddle an now he's snoring and I'm wide awake :(
I don't want to be pissed off as it was his uncles funeral but can't help but be annoyed that he didn't think to stop drinking and come to bed earlier! His snoring down my ear isn't helping me not be annoyed either lol

Can’t believe I’m 30 weeks tomorrow 😳

I've loved being off for October holidays. Dreading going back next week. Only 6 weeks left of work after next Thu. . I'm so excited to have a few weeks maternity leave this time before baby arrives, as I didn't have any with DS.

I'm definitely struggling with the pregnancy insomnia, I just could not get comfortable last night and I'm like a total zombie today. This week also seems to be my week for emotional meltdowns, I've properly cried on my DP about three times so far, over really insignificant things. He's being very patient, bless him, but I have no idea where all these emotions are coming from! Altogether it's incredibly draining!

@katmarie I've had a few moments this week, mostly wanting to get organised with everything and stressed then emotional when I feel I'm not getting anywhere.

Not been too bad today, not as bad as i thought after last night's lack of sleep, tired but generally ok

I know exactly what you mean. We're in the middle of decorating the baby's room, and we seem to take one step forward and two steps back all the time with it. Which has definitely been getting to me. There's baby stuff all over the house and I just want it all finished so I can wash all the baby's clothes and put them away. I know baby isn't due for another 12 weeks but I can just feel the time slipping away, argh!
