Exactly the same here @MegRam mine are getting much stronger now and it's only because other people have told me that's what they were that I realised - I thought he was just being a pickle in there 😂 I get them most often at school, as it's such an active job. Can see them getting more and more uncomfortable as time goes on 😕

Ruthcarr1990 · 18/10/2017 17:06

Had a really bad head ache all day!! Don’t no if it my bobble that’s too tight or what. So paranoid about preeclampsia. Does anyone know when it can start? Had it with my daughter. Xxx

Waitingonasmile · 18/10/2017 17:36

It can start anytime after 20 weeks @Ruthcarr1990 . Consultant did tell me (if it starts at all) it usually starts later and is less severe in next pregnancy. Definitely get checked if you are worried though. I bought a blood pressure monitor just for reassurance.

Just back from a hospital appointment
Baby was happy sucking on this it’s hands again! So cute!

Babies body is measuring true to dates (26+4) but it’s legs are long and measure 29 weeks
My doctor wants me to get a glucose tolerance test in 3 weeks just to be sure all is ok

I’m gaining weight within normal limits, but TBH my diet isn’t great as I’ve gone off anything healthy and I’m only doing a little yoga or Pilates.
Is it normal to be tested but not have gestational diabetes?

Mummyme87 · 18/10/2017 18:16

forumusername I have had two GTTs (16/40 and 26/40) both normal (albeit recent one upper end of normal). I had two tests due to previous DS being 10lb 5oz and showing signs of untreated maternal diabetes

Usernamegone · 18/10/2017 20:02

Forumusername I'm too tired to do any exercise and all I want to eat is stodgy so the weight is piling on.

Had 28 week appointment today and all is well with baby. The midwife commented on my abdominal muscles (I used to do loads of exercise up to about 16w) as it made it difficult to feel the baby!

Looking forward to my scan in 3 weeks time as I will see baby again! Hopefully my placenta will have moved!

Ruthcarr1990 · 18/10/2017 20:06

@Waitingonasmile it’s still there after 2 paracetamol if still there in the morning I’ll deffo be ringing midwife - that’s providing her phones on. Xxx

SJ1989 · 18/10/2017 20:28

@forumusername I had a glucose test on Monday which was all Normal! That was due to baby measuring 2 and a half week ahead on a scan but turns out she's j7st a natural chunk haha

ForumUsername · 18/10/2017 20:57

Thanks for the replies ladies
I just wasn’t sure what to think about it all, it wasn’t something I expected.

DH is tall so maybe baby is just going to be lanky
Might have to cut the feet off the baby grows we have

klaw87 · 18/10/2017 22:03

Have had quite a few braxton hicks today (possibly just noticing them more as they are getting stronger) and sporadic so not concerned about them as such but baby is going MENTAL in there this evening - a massive increase in normal movement to normal. Trying to google but it's so mixed - should I be concerned? 28+1 today

I've got midwife tomorrow at 11.45 so don't want to call now if I don't need to - help!

Disinterested · 18/10/2017 22:10

@klaw I think any change in movement should be checked out and only you know whether it feels different. I don't want to scare you but lots of movement could mean baby is in distress - baby is probably fine but might be worth phoning and being seen to for peace of mind or I'm sure you'll just be worrying all night x

LoobysMummy14 · 18/10/2017 22:33

I have been having BH for the last couple of weeks but didn't have them with my 1st so just thought baby boy was pushing against my side, oh well now I know!
Baby is moving a bit more tonight but have seen the midwife this evening and all is okay with him :) definitely get checked if you are worried! And Hi all!

klaw87 · 18/10/2017 22:36

Thanks @Dis I gave them a quick call and she said as it was one burst of movement and has now gone back to normal that it's more than likely nothing to worry about, if I get any more bursts overnight / in morning then I can call them and they might get me in for monitoring. Hopefully that will be it - so worrying when there's the slightest thing different!

Serendipper · 18/10/2017 22:51

I feel like I’m having such a nightmare at the minute, it would be funny if it wasn’t all actually happening! I’m already signed off work with stress (whole other thread) then at Midwife’s appointment yesterday I was told I had group b strep so bye bye to any ideas of a waterbirth in my local mlu and now I will be labouring in a bed in the dr led unit. Then this morning I had my GTT and it was awful. I felt dizzy for a while, made dh go and tell someone when it got really bad. They tried to get me to walk to a bed but I fainted instead. Then when I came round I told them I was going to be sick so nurse ran off to get a bowl but didn’t get to me in time so I projectile vomited in front of the whole waiting room! Mortifying 😳 I now need to go back next week and try it all again!

Mummyme87 · 19/10/2017 07:02

serendipper does your MLU not allow women with GBS? Very odd. It’s 4hrly IV antibiotics and that’s it. Does not require continuous monitoring or doctor input. Check out NICE guidance on it lovely. Will have a look there myself and RCOg guidelines

Mummyme87 · 19/10/2017 07:06

Okay RCOG green top guidelines page 4 of 26.. is Waterbirth contraindicated in maternal GBS

Mummyme87 · 19/10/2017 07:10

And this is from the official GBS website

January Babies #5 - Are we 'glowing' yet?!
overmybreadbody · 19/10/2017 07:34

25 week scan done, had whooping cough vaccine (arm is KILLING)
All tests fine, however we were told that baby is measuring BIG Shock

SJ1989 · 19/10/2017 08:32

@overmybreadbody snap! When I had a scan last week baby was 1.1lb bigger than she should be but it's not always a cause for concern, they did a glucose test just to be safe but that was all clear

klaw87 · 19/10/2017 11:59

Sounds like a horrendous day @Serendipper Flowers hope you're having a better day today!

Just been to midwife and baby sounding happy in there so he must have just been having a mental few minutes last night - little pickle!

WLMcI · 19/10/2017 16:58

@klaw Mine is also really really active in the evening right up to bedtime, to the extent that there's almost no break between "sessions" of movement at all! Compared to the daytime it's totally different, and that pattern all started around 28 weeks. So maybe your wee bean is like mine! DH can't believe the ferocity of the hiccups as well 😂

klaw87 · 19/10/2017 17:04

@WLMcI that's good to know, thank you! Maybe he's just gearing it up a bit - I was getting shoved around all over the place lol! I've definitely noticed hiccups a few times lately too - very odd sensation!

Disinterested · 19/10/2017 17:28

Well after being at the hospital from 8am until 2pm I can confirm I 100% have OC as my liver scan proved nothing underlying. I got to see him too and he's very active in there and growing as he should :)

I saw the consultant and he confirmed I'll be seen weekly to check my bile acids and have a scan/CTG to check he's doing alright in there. I will be 100% induced early but we are trying to get me to 36 weeks. If my levels rise too high then I'll be admitted and he will be whipped out. Consultant was very cautious and kept on about stillbirth and my bile acids causing possible heart failure Sad

Since being home I've had a call from the midwife and my bile acid levels today are 14, which is a huge drop from 29 before I started the URSO 2 days ago. I'm not disillusioned and know they can fluctuate but I'll take that this week and see how we go next week Grin.

I have to be thankful i am getting the treatment i need. It could be so much worse. I saw a poor woman, who looked about 8 months pregnant, come out of the ultrasound room with around 4 members of staff. She was in floods of tears and clutching her belly. I really hope she is okay, she's been on my mind since.

SJ1989 · 19/10/2017 17:50

@disinterested atleast they are taking precautions and keeping a close eye on you and baby, fingers crossed with it being caught early medication will manage it till 36 weeks. Must of been hard seeing that and I hope the woman and her baby are ok. Try not to let it worry you too much as you don't know what she was there for!
Stay strong an try not to stress too much (impossible I know) xx

Disinterested · 19/10/2017 17:55

@SJ1989 thank you :) yes exactly and at least I get to see him every week and meet him earlier - although we were hoping for a February baby just for another payday between Christmas and his birthday, ha ha Grin.
