Hello! I'm back!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AbbyLou · 02/04/2007 16:48

Next task complete - Easter cards are done. It was lovely to sit at the table outside in the warm sun doing some fun stuff with Charlie. It's things like that that make me wonder why I do go to work. I know really.....money mainly but I do enjoy my job which is more than most people can say.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 02/04/2007 17:02

at my very bad grammer, I do know better than that. Re-read my post and nearly fell off chair.

SOH, are you finding it dragging too then? I know that in a few weeks we'll all be really excited and it really won't be long left but I really struggle at this point. I did it with H and M, got all depressed for a few days at around 34 weeks, wouldn't go out, couldn't sleep, eat and was very grumpy and tearful. I did drag myself food shopping this morning as I found last time that getting out was what helped. I am hoping that I'll feel better by the time I see the MW on Thursday and have my scan, she will tell me the wondrful news that I can now join the cephy's and all will be rosy.

MKG, so glad you are feeling happier. plod on through, we are all here as ears when your (d)h isn't.

Weight... I put about 2 stone on after Maddie was born, can't blame this pregnancy I've only put on 5kg. I am determined to get it off after this one arrives this time, actually I'm quite looking forward to doing it.

largeginandtonic · 02/04/2007 17:30

MrsJB i love the name Macie\macy. Think it sounds lovely with a french twang on it too. You are right about N getting his bit of French in to the name

SOH, no coke??? No alcohol??? Very proud of you, your body must be amazing

Poor dd sooo poorly, N had to carry her home from town after getting her (very pretty) sandals. She has a banging head ache, sore throat and has just been mega sick. Why oh why is one of them always ill?!

Scooter dh and i have cleaned up the P&T and it will be on it's way by wednesday, to you on Thursday. He is just putting it all back together, he has printed out instructions to it too. So glad it's off to a good home.

Am lurking on ebay now for a green bugaboo gecko, if anyone knows someone selling i want one!

The maternity leave natter is going to make it tricky keeping up now LOL

largeginandtonic · 02/04/2007 17:34

Oh pinkJenny, i didnt mean it.....im usually 13 and a half stone by the time i give birth which on my incredibly short ass looks It takes me about a year to lose it too. Im just hoping that if i manage not to put on quite sooo much this time, it may make getting back in to the jeans a little easier, HA!

Pinkjenny · 02/04/2007 17:41

That's OK LG&T, I forgive you. I'm just in denial.

I have actually only put on 3 pounds in the last five weeks. I put the majority of the weight on in the first trimester as eating was the only thing that got rid of the vile taste and the sickness. Bizarrely.

I can't believe how far we've all come. It only seems five minutes since we were all complaining in the beginning about not bloody showing! And Juicy and I worried about absolutely everything!

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 17:44

"your body must be amazing". Oh LG&T, earl grey sprayed everywhere. My body is amazing- I have the London Underground etched out in stretchmarks on my boobs and thighs and I cannot see my feet, yet I'm sure they are there. I don't do too badly when not pregnant, was running four times a week (I have a triathlete ex-competitive swimmer of a husband to keep up with!), cycled 8 miles to work every day and was pretty fit. Now? Oh dear lord. I can't run for the bus. Saw a colleague who I usually only speak to on the phone today. She said she bets I won't make 40 weeks- reckons I look 'low'. She's right. Came home and stripped off, the bump has well and truly dropped. Looking forward to getting back in shape after the birth.

MrsJB, yes it's dragging. I don't feel like I'll ever have a baby, just be permanently pregnant. And my coccyx is driving me potty. Bloomin' thing. Feels like it's being crushed.

Please tell me it'll all be worth it.

Pinkjenny · 02/04/2007 17:48

Someone (not me, it took me seven months to do a profile) will have to put our 'due on' table back up soon. I can't remember when anyone is due!

Not just yet though, I guess we've all got at least 4 weeks to go.

SOH - you are a fit thing. I wish I was athletic. I used to run round the hurdles at school.

I am a great dancer though. Not at the moment, obviously.

LupinsBigLump · 02/04/2007 17:48

SOH dont feel bad at not being able to get everything new ect. when we had dd we were all in one roon, cot, car seat, clothes all borrowed, my mum bought her a cot bed in the end lol - they dont know any better as long as they are loved warm and fed - this time round I have only spent about £20 quid on clothes - April Meadow has done a fine job of kitting us out and the rest has been of ebay, its not worth stressing over

TYG lovely leaving gifts, must be nice to feel so appreciated

Pebble - I have givem up on sunbingo - never seem to win lol, did ok on gala for a bit

Dummies - I think dd started on hers at about 8 weeks, after we had got bf fully established - she was in hossi for 10 days and it was a good few weeks after that she was confident feeder ( grr every 1.5 hrs day & night) I will gladly use then again, dd had hers till she was 3 then the birthday fairies took it away in exchange for pressies

Will finish posting later gotta cook dinner, me thinks spagehtti with smoked salmon (as i didnt manage to eat it all) and cream sauce mmmmmmm, and for dd and dp spag with tom sauce with grilled chicken as they wont eat smoked salmon

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 17:53

I never used to be fit but with a fitness obsessed DH, it became necessary. And I grew to enjoy it- or how it made me feel.

In terms of weight gain, couldn't tell you. Haven't weighed myself since I was about 14 and never will again. The midwife doesn't care what I weigh but hang on this'll cheer you all up...

...bought a tape measure the other day to aid with the crafting. I have a 42 inch waist belly button to belly button. Gargantuan!

[blimp]

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 17:57

Just measured DH... 32 inch waist. Buggeration, I'm a heifer.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 02/04/2007 18:06

We really let slip TPT, maybe we should start it again tommorow, bet I'm more than 7.5 sheets now.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 02/04/2007 18:07

Boo hoo at the coccyx's from hell, i want mine removed.

largeginandtonic · 02/04/2007 18:20

TPT nooooooo, i dread to think. Im off to check, i may or may not be back

largeginandtonic · 02/04/2007 18:22

9 sheets, i may get the tape measure out later if im feeling brave. Then again i might just have a beer

Mrsjaffabiffa · 02/04/2007 18:46

Beer sounds a better idea. Bad mommy alert.

twelveyeargap · 02/04/2007 19:30

Feck TPT. Have a 45, yes 45 inch waist SOH, and am 13.5 stone. Woop. 7 weeks to go too. To be fair, put on about the same with DD, BUT I started out at 9 stone, not 11.5!

Must be the first flush of domesticity today. Have been ironing. I never iron.

Is it silly that I want to wash all the brand new baby things separately to the rest of the wash? Yes, I'm sure it is...

OP posts:
LupinsBigLump · 02/04/2007 20:49

SOH I am 42 inches as well, still supposed to have 8 weeks to go - luckily will be 6 weeks max

Just had a bath and there was colostrum on boob - omg and so it begins

Didnt get round to salmon pasta, managed red pepper pesto and cheese with cheesecake for afters

Dd is so tired I have finally got her bed time back to 7.30 after the flaming clocks changed, 4 years its taken me to get her to bed at a reasonable time, and we are back to pull ups for now as the bed wetting has returned - been over a week now so she can start again soon

Have a scan tomorrow and consultant appt - see how little my little one is - seeing new consultant as old one didnt deal with blood sugar issues, going to raise the subject of sterilisation/ hysterectomy again - hopefully will have more luck with lady consultant

Right chat to you all tomorrow have a lovely evening

aprilmeadow · 02/04/2007 21:54

Evening

Going to post my secret stork present tomorrow as forgot to get something to pack it all into - duh!

Weighed myself and have gained 1st 5lbs in almost 36weeks. Quite good i think considering i heaped on 3st with ds. Havent got a tape measure but i am 9 sheets of toilet roll (we use andrex just to give an indication of sheet size).

We had our old neighbours round for tea this evening and the husband has told us of the plans he has for our garden . He used to mow our lawn in the old house and he also landscaped our old garden as well. We currently have this sad excuse of a lawn that is made up of half dead moss and the odd strand of grass. He thinks and dh is in agreement that we should deck half of it and put bark down on the other half and have all the kiddies toys (swing, slide etc) on that. Seems like a good idea and i guess it makes it an easy maintenance garden.

I am popping into work on wednesday to tie up the last few bits (will only be in in the morning) and also to meet with one of my suppliers so they can say good bye. BUT most importantly he is bringing in a dozen KK's. So if anyone fancies one i can pop it in the post.

MKG · 02/04/2007 23:01

While you all are more concerned with the size of your bumps, I'm extremely concerned about my boobs. They have reached porn star status .
Today I put on a nursing bra because my "cup runnoth over" in regular bras. My nursing bras with ds were 43 D. Let's just say that the bra was too tight and I can't take it anymore. I think if I should need a C-section I would ask for a tummy tuck and a breast reduction at the same time.

MY dog got out of the house today and me like an idiot ran after him. I didn't realise how out of shape I was, I can't wait to work out again. I've already mapped out my post baby workout program. I've never been skinny, but I've always been in good shape.

My sister sent me a baby clothes today, and she sent so much I couldn't believe it.

Oh well I should go get dinner started.

cameroonmama · 03/04/2007 07:37

morning all

MKG I can only dream of having boobs of a porn star status. I am green with envy. Mine have increased by a miniscule amount from 34A to a 36c, oh the shame of it.

My MW doesn't do scales either so I had a peek at my MIL's house and i have put on 3 stone, now am 12 stone. With my last two pregnancies I started at 54kgs and ended at 88kgs, so I am not too worried, it all seems to go but it does take 6 months or so. It is just the lugging it all around that is tiring

TP measuring eek 9 sheets, and 41 inches around the 'waist'

aprilmeadow · 03/04/2007 07:41

LOL at porn star boobs MKG!! Mine are currently the biggest they have ever been at a 34E. I bought 2 nursing bras in that size the other day as they seemed to be coming up quite large. Figured that i have enough room in them for now and also room enough for when milk comes in.

Have all items ready to go in hospital bag just need to pack them. Ds is at nursery today so i plan to sort all that out. Was anyone going to be getting Raspberry leaf tea/tablets? I had some last time and thought about trying them again this time. Have to say that i didnt stick religiously to them so maybe if i try harder they might work..... Also, was going to get the arnica tablets and stuff for the bath, but i cant remember the best things to put in the bath for healing or where i can get arnica tablets that are higher than 30c.

Will be posting my stork pressies today and might even make a start on my home made birthday cards. Partners had a 3for2 offer on all card making kits and items. Also liked the some of lg&t's cakes. DH isnt going to know whats hit him, dont think he can take me being too domesticated, its not in my nature

jellybellybump · 03/04/2007 08:51

Morning all.
I have a feeling my boobs and bump are having a secret competition they've not told me about. One week my bump will grow massively and the following my boobs will try to catch up. Dh loves it. I was going to wait with buying new bras but they're so squashed in I have to give in and spend half a day in a mothercare changing room.

dejags · 03/04/2007 09:09

eeek. my bump measures 43.5 inches.

God I am huge.

lbs are piling on too. I think I have put on 1.5 stone and have another 7 weeks to go.

God I am huge.

aprilmeadow · 03/04/2007 09:20

Have a sneaky feeling that bubs may have [whispers] turned last night..... went to bed and she started moving in a really painful way, if that makes sense. Feel a bit thinner iykwim. Will have to wait and see. Next mw appt is on Tuesday next week.

Dejags, that sounds like a good weight gain to me. I piled on at least 3st with my ds. Started at 9st and once it reached 12st i stopped weighing myself. This time i started at 9.5st and am nearing the 11st mark. Not too bothered as i have a 2yr old to run after.

scootermum · 03/04/2007 09:42

Morning all,

Im slightly over exited at the thought of my lovely P and t coming-am off on Thurs as well so will be in to greet it..Thank your lovely N for me largegandt for the instructions and thankyou for cleaning it-though it wasnt needed-you are meant to be resting up!
Am posting my secret stork this morning-hope the person likes it-wrapped it up last night but managed to leave the scissors in the pack so had to do it all over again duh!

Im jealous of everyones elses boobs as well-mine have not even changed size-36 B and thats it-no change in either pg.Gutted.My ass more than makes up for it however. It took me 9 months to lose the baby weight from dd, but even then I didnt look the same. Then I got self knocked up again , so it didnt last long-lord knows what I will look like this time..We are going to the Mcvilla in October though so thats my target for the weight loss this time..

I have washed all my baby things seperately TYG as well-its the one and only time I will do it though and I cant for sure say why I felt the need too either..Also I waited for a sunny day so I could be sure of drying them outdoors-which clearly makes all the difference, (or it does in my head anyway)

Have you tried sitting on a rubber ring, (the sort you can get from any good apothercary for piles)Mrs JB with re your coccyx?Worked for my Mum when she fractured hers-might be worth a go..Know what you eman about late pg fatigue-I have felt thoroughly narky the last two days for no reason at all..Will be better when work is over I think and I can concentrate on being Mama again properly..

Congrats on your kitchen BB-Cant wait to see it when you post your pic...

Had a lovely journey to work this morn as no kids at school-it only took 50 mins instead of the usual 90.Made up for last nights though as there was a Police incident in Wood Green and I got stuck for 45 mins in the ensuing chaos..Ruddy criminals.Couldnt they wait till after rush hour?

SOH-D and B is a traditional English drink that contains neither Dandelions nor Burdock as far as I know, but must've once..It is quite old fashioned and I imagine the favoured drink of the Famous Five (after the obligatory Ginger Beer of course)..Generally it is Fizzy but you can also get cordial I believe, should you want to sample. Its an aquired taste though..That said thinking about it has made me hanker after some..

Hi to everyone not mentioned..Lovely thread-was thinking about it last night as didnt even know about Mumsnet when pg with DD.It lovely to have all you guys to chat to this time-has made a real difference..
