Hello! I'm back!

Fab news about Lupins! I can't believe its all started! Although hopefully a little while yet for the rest of us.

I've just been to midwife appt - protein has now officially left the building. BP still a little up, but nothing to worry about. LO hasn't turned since I went 3 weeks ago, lumps are still in the same places but this was a different midwife today who said she is head down and cephallic (or something - which is back to back and apparently very painful - poo!). The other midwife said breech.

Great to see such consistency. And that the midwives I see can't seem to distinguish between a head and a bum.

Apart from that, all well.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 05/04/2007 16:15

Ham and coke together WTF? Sounds interesting, would give it ago.

lg&t, Is that the soonest appointment with the midwife? Will that be your first meet? I know you used to be a MW and am sure you know exactly what you are feeling, but I would have put money on miniapple having not moved. There is still a hard lump at the top and what I thought were kicks in my bits. The only thing I have noticed that appears different in the last few days is that I keep getting a shooting pain down the back of my right leg, I pressume this is now the head pushing on a nerve.

PJenny, glad your appointment was better than the last.

Common May babies, time to do some spinning and settling so to give us mummies a well deserved rest before you create panic amoungst us again.

Ohhhhhhhhh, I keep thinking about Lupins, that's a fab idea to get her details. I think she's in the royal berks hos but I'd love to send a card to her lg&t.

BefnalBub · 05/04/2007 17:29

ta for the link MID. looks good.

LOL CM at it being like your old kitchen in Hackney... just spent 2 months creating it! Have now included before photo so that hard work (and amazing tiling skills) can be truly appreciated . Spared you all details of my beautiful new floor which the bump had the indignity of helping lay!

cameroonmama · 05/04/2007 17:42

actually BB, your kitchen is much more glamorous than mine ever was and after tiling the bathroom in said Hackney flat, I have never, ever wanted to tile anything ever again so you get oodles of respect for all that tiling, especially being in a state of bumpednes

cameroonmama · 05/04/2007 17:45

Thanks for that link madeindevon, I'm going to give it a whirl next week.

Creena · 05/04/2007 18:03

Congratulations to Lupins! How exciting - our first May baby!

BB - we appear to have the same kitchen tiles!

SOH - hope you're taking it easy, young lady! If not, I am going to have to become Ultra Harridan and nag you to do so continuously.

Mind you, I've been using my new found freedom for work to sort out the house and stuff too. Have kept myself busy for the past week giving the place a good sort out and clean. Has caught up with me now - am absolutely knackered and having a bit of back pain and period like pain too. I'm attributing it to Braxton Hicks and buggering off for a little lay down in a minute. At least it's almost the Easter bank holiday weekend. Hurrah!

Had appt with midwife today - bobba is head down and just right size wise. I now know that the big bump under my ribs is his bottom. Heartburn has really increased these past couple of days and driving me nuts. Is Gaviscon liquid better than Gaviscon tablets? I'm taking the tablets but they don't really seem to have much effect.

A very good friend of mine (and fellow mumsnetter) is due on Saturday. She sent me a pic of her bump today and she looks fabulous. I think it's going to be a boy.

I received my secret shower present today - so lovely and cute; I'm really chuffed!

aprilmeadow · 05/04/2007 18:24

Many congrats to lupins. I have her home address if anyone wants to send a card. Not her stork just needed it to deliver all the baby clothes i had

MrsJB, THANK YOU!! Got a lovely selection of chocolate in the post today. C says 'he love you long time' as he is addicted to Milka! Will use the little eggies to do an easter hunt for J. Thanks again x

All parcels posted!!

aprilmeadow · 05/04/2007 18:31

Forgot to say 'YAY' to MrsJB. So pleased that bubba has decided to listen and be nice to mummy and turn. Fingers crossed that i get the same result on Tuesday.

twelveyeargap · 05/04/2007 19:56

Evening. That's great news that all is well with Lupins and the LO. Good size. Hopefully out of hospital in no time. Have started a May Birth Announcements Thread so we can keep track of all the births.

SOH - the cricket last night was very exciting. England lost by two runs. It's not very often that (a) you find an Irish woman who likes cricket or (b) that cricket has a nailbiting end. Very glad to hear about "The Letter" and about your new car. It's SO nice to have a car, any car, to get out and about and to do boring stuff like go to Homebase, which is even more boring if you have to lug stuff home on public transport. Speaking of which... It's too boring to put here so have emailed you about travel stuff for your trip.

Befnalbub - that's quite a transformation in the kitchen. It looks fab.

InTheseShoes - congrats on your maternity leave and thrilled for you with the nice pressies. So lovely to feel appreciated. Well done.

Mrs JB - brilliant news that the baby has turned.

Good day/ bad day at the TYG house.

Good day - got the Nigella book out and made Victoria sponge and banana loaf. Loaf a triumph (hardly difficult), sponge not as springy as hoped. LG&T - could that be becuase I didn't take it out of the tin soon enough? Looked fab coming out of oven, all perfectly risen, deflated a bit and then I left it for ages as I was making the loaf and it really looked a bit crumpled by the time I turned it onto the rack. Anyway, loads of my deliveries of baby stuff came. Just waiting on changing table now. I am now the owner of a very ancient, but very groovy Jaguar. It's SO much bigger than my "customised" Rover with the dented wing/ door/ bonnet that I'm nearly afraid to take the thing out for fear I won't be able to park it. Will take it for a spin tomorrow... Probably to feckin' Homebase. Bought gloss for DH to do skirtings in nursery and have now been warned that gloss is a bugger, will look sh'te if DH doesn't take pains over it and to exchange for satinwood. At what point did any of this become interesting for anyone. Even I am bored. Apologies...

Bad day - baked in honour of two best (RL) friends coming over today, but the one I've bought the Jag from... BOOO HOOOO. Today is the last time I'll see her for year. She's emigrating to Australia on Saturday. Am so sad. It's great for her, she's going to have a lovely life there once she's settled. I'm just sad that she won't be half an hour away any more. Cried and cried when she was gone. DH is out so can't sob on his shoulder. Booo hooo hooo.

To all you MAY 07s I am charleymouse's mum and have some sad news for you all,as you know she has been in hospital ,on tuesday morning waters broke spontaneously and within 1 hour was 3cms dilated twin 2 heart rate was erratic so emergency sectionand twin 1 BENJAMIN PETER was born at 9.57am and weighed 3lbs 10 oz and twin 2 GEORGE EDWARD weighed 3lbs 1/2 oz. both boys breathed on their own and cried but then Ben needed help as well as the problem we knew about he had other problems that had not been seen on scans and so after being with us for 9 hours he is now a little angel.George has needed minimum intervention and after 24 hrs moved from high dependency to low and last night had his first breast feed.Of course Iam biased but he is really beautiful fair hair and looks a bit like his dad.We are all still in shock but charley mouse is a strong person and has a loving husband and a beautiful daughter she is hoping to be back home on tuesday or wednesday and George will move to her local hospital until he is big enough to come home.Charley mouse has asked me to send you this message and will be in touch when she is home.

twelveyeargap · 05/04/2007 21:36

Oh God. I am so, so sorry to hear about Benjamin. You must all be so sad and shocked. It's great to hear that George is doing well, but it must be so difficult for you all feeling such joy and sadness at the same time. Please pass on all our love and support to charleymouse. We'll be here when she's ready to chat.

You're all in my prayers. x

MKG · 05/04/2007 23:31

I though I was going to give birth in the grocery store yesterday. I was walking around and had the worst pain. This baby is definitely in position and ready to go.

I'm going to ask for an internal exam next week at my appointment because I either want to be told that there is something going on, or that I'm crazy and this baby is no where near ready. I also wonder if I could check my own dilation. I want to ask how to do it if possible. I have no problem getting a hand mirror and checking. Will keep people posted.

I may be crazy, but I never felt like this with ds and even though it's my second pregnancy it might as well be my first, because I'm clueless as to what all these feelings are about.

I may only be 32 +5 but I'm ready to be done. Watch me go into June. This little bugger just wants to mess with me.

MKG · 05/04/2007 23:32

Congrats to Lupins!!

cameroonmama · 06/04/2007 07:22

cinnamontam · 06/04/2007 08:11

aprilmeadow · 06/04/2007 08:11

largeginandtonic · 06/04/2007 08:39

Oh Charleymouse im so sorry. I cant even imagine how it must feel to lose such a gorgeous little boy after trying so hard to be positive and keep him in there. Im sure little George will be strong and keep you going through this nightmare time. Love to you and your family xxxxxx

Gingerbear · 06/04/2007 08:41

Oh Charleymouse, I am so so sorry xx
It is hard to rejoice when your heart is breaking.
There is a mumsnetter who lost one of her twin boys a couple of years ago. - If you feel it would help to talk, I could point her in your direction?

largeginandtonic · 06/04/2007 08:43

I cant believe the May babies are starting to arrive! It is too soon.....lets hope the rest of our little ones stay put for another few weeks yet.

It is the scariest thing in the world havin g your baby and not being able to pick them up,cuddle them and have them close to you. You are quite often put on the postnatal ward with everyone else who has their babies, the crying is torture. I keep thinking of Lupins and Charleymouse, wish i could give them both a hug

Lets hope Lupins little one and George are with their mummies soon.

Juicylucytoo · 06/04/2007 10:18

Charleymouse - such happy news about George. So sad about Benjamin.

My thoughts are with you.
