Hello! I'm back!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 13:11

Did you see me studiously ignoring the camera and tripod bit? Did you? Did you?

cameroonmama · 02/04/2007 13:21

You guys go so fast..sometimes I wish I was at work, I'm sure sometimes it would be more restful so far this morning I have done two lots of washing, hung them out, tidied up (big job) taken two children and bump to Sainsburys where canny 5 yr old dd has convinced me to buy all sorts of rubbish that I wouldn't normally go near, stopped at the petrol station for a requested treat from dc for a car wash (easily pleased my kids), put shopping away, made lunch and now 5 mins to try to catch up with you all!

We tried dummies on the odd occasion with both dc and they just spat them out! So I gave up.. Also because I am so lazy I just whipped a boob out at most whimpers which did the job. The sore nipples thing doesn't last too long, the leaking norks thing does..

Thanks TYG for your comments on Jasper, I think I may reconsider, though I find making any kind of decision at the moment about anything is nigh on impossible.

largeginandtonic · 02/04/2007 13:25

Forgot to say cameroon i too love the name Jasper! Woul have def had one but too many J's now. We would sound a bit themed

Ahhhhh sweet coke.......

twelveyeargap · 02/04/2007 13:26

To be fair to you SOH, DH did go out and buy coke the other day to soak the rust off a few bolts... I still drink it though! Obviously not the stuff that's had the bolts in it...

Meant to say sorry dejags about your cat, ours died the week after we left Cameroon, at the house of a poor friend who had taken him in. She was mortified that she had done something to him, the dc took it all in their stride and sigh wistfully every now and again. I was much more upset than them.

Deal or No Deal has obviously not reached BBC Prime, I am totally in the dark, sounds like it might be worth watching though

cameroonmama · 02/04/2007 13:30

LG&T I can't function without one Coke a day, how sad is that??

We seem to be into the J boys names too, Jasper, Jude and Joel all in the running.

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 13:32

I love Jasper. It's beautiful and not at all West London unless you're in London.

Never tried coke- smells very sweet!

Can't comment on Beau as I know one and it has skewed my view of it.

twelveyeargap · 02/04/2007 13:32

Ocado is great, but yes, I suspect it is quite expensive. Unfortunately I am now spoiled... I can't go back to Sainsbuggers as I like it so much. If we have to seriously economise once I stop getting paid then it will be off to Asda with me.

SOH - you never cease to surprise me!

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 13:33

Tescos deliver our shopping and I schedule it for late at night so they can come under the cover of darkness. Oh the shame.

cameroonmama · 02/04/2007 13:36

Waitrose has yet to reach deepest darkest Somerset Down here Tesco rules, but I have defected to Sains because there are no spotty yoofs at the cash desk and the nice ladies do my packing for me

cameroonmama · 02/04/2007 13:38

Dh might get his way with Jasper after all, the irony is is that even though we live in Somerset we have a flat that we rent out.... in West London!

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 13:38

Why are you surprised now? Is it the coke thing? It's got bubbles in it and I don't drink things with bubbles. Oh the very idea is ridiculous.

So far we're on hot chocolate and coke. I've also never burped. That's a weird one! Never broken the law, never drunk alcohol, never driven a car (have driven tractors and a combine harvester though and I've flown a bi-plane), never had a credit card, never owned heels, never opened a can of drink, never had a manicure, pedicure, massage or wax, never been on a rollercoaster. I could go on.

AbbyLou · 02/04/2007 13:42

I have never heard of someone with so many I have nevers....

cameroonmama · 02/04/2007 13:44

so what do you do SOH? And not even one tinsy tiny sip of Champagne, not ever?

cameroonmama · 02/04/2007 13:47

Though to be fair I have never driven a tractor or a combine harvester or flown a bi-plane. All sound much more exciting than driving a Ford Focus

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 13:48

No, no alcohol at all. What do I do? Tricky one. I consume more gingerbread than any other living creature. That takes up a considerable amount of time. And I spend a lot of time sourcing ever more ridiculous pairs of Dr Martens. That's about it really...

twelveyeargap · 02/04/2007 13:50

Hmm. I have never driven a combine harvester. I sat on someone's lap as a child and "drove" the tractor. Does that count? I have never been to Norwich, though I have been to Norfolk. Lots of cauliflowers...

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 13:51

What in heck's name did you come to Norfolk for? I presume you were lost. Snort at 'lots of cauliflowers'. Lots of beet too. And flatness. And odd pregnant women who have never drunk coke.

cameroonmama · 02/04/2007 13:53

If I could drive/pilot any of the three then my already supermummy status with ds would reach dizzying new heights.

Any chance of a visit SOH?

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2007 13:57

Perhaps I should explain. Technically I am not allowed to fly bi-planes. I went to a big garden party thing one summer with lots of local and very affluent farmers (good friend's Dad farms one of the local country house estates). After far too much alcohol the farmers all decided to get their planes out (who knew that rich Norfolk farmers had planes?) and race them along the North Norfolk coast. One very nice farmer let me fly his plane (he must have been very drunk) under strict supervision.

I've driven a tank too, but then I was in the Officer Training Corps of the Territorial Army.

I feel I am revealing too much.

DizzyBrummie · 02/04/2007 14:01

I think that the things you've done and have never done are brill

Haven't drunk coke for about 3 years but I had a fancy for some today, I have resisted as I think the caffiene will send me and baby do-lally (sp?)

cameroonmama · 02/04/2007 14:02

Lol SOH! Sounds like the sort of thing that goes on in Africa!

cameroonmama · 02/04/2007 14:27

Right, off to the playground we go, I might just buy some Coke and book myself a manicure, pedicure and wax whilst I am out

scootermum · 02/04/2007 14:28

Blimey SOH-Never opened a can of drink?Never?!
Dont you even drink Lemonade?Or Dandelion and Burdock? (seems a sort of countryfied, Norfolk sort of beverage, )

Have just been down the shops and did not buy a thing, (except a sandwich and a Magnum).Feel quite proud of self..Was also whistled at by a builder who then realised I was pregnant and apologised profusely.Didnt know wether to celebrate being whistled at or feel sad that my being whistled at days are probably behind me..

Im ignoring the tripod thing as well largegandt..its too early for me to get into that kind of thing!

For the record, I havent seen Deal or No deal either!Just heard about it..
