We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

Hi all. Glad to be joining too Smile This is my second pregnancy, have a little boy who turnt two in August. I'm 7 weeks today if my dates are correct. Doctors appt tomorrow to confirm pregnancy. Already suffering with nausea. Has anyone tried sickness travel bands?

MotherofBoy · 06/09/2017 10:52

I saw that earlier fillybee 🤣😂

JuniUmiZoomi · 06/09/2017 12:28

Very sorry midgetjen take care of yourself.

Welcome new BFPs!

Booked the midwife! Won't be seen til 2nd week of October but early scan is sorted so that's a relief. I had a bit of a battle last time but they were really nice about it this time. Phew!

MotherofBoy · 06/09/2017 13:00

Is anyone able to do a google docs stats thing? I don't have the technical capabilities but be good to have an overview! Should pin at top of next thread!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 06/09/2017 13:03

Bit of a dilemma...

I have done Pilates for nearly a year, and attend an improvers class now on Thursdays. I found last week quite tough with lightheadedness and really sore breasts (exercises lying on my front were v uncomfortable!) but didn't realise I was pg then.

It's still v early days, and googling is inconclusive re any danger at this stage. As it's not a new exercise to me I think it will be fine

But would you tell the instructor at this stage? I know she wouldn't disclose anything to anyone else, but it feels so early to say anything

Chipsahoy · 06/09/2017 13:24

So sorry midgetjen.

@HerSymphonyAndSong I'd tell your teacher right away. As for doing pilates you should be able to continue but rake advice from your instructor on modifications and positions to avoid. I do yoga every day and plan to continue but will be doing prenatal routines from now on.

willisurvive2under2 · 06/09/2017 13:24

@Lauraandbump2 Congrats! Sickness wrist bands worked for me last time. Or at least I felt they did!

katiegd · 06/09/2017 13:28

@HerSymphonyAndSong I also do Pilates weekly. I told my instructor and she has been great. She basically said that it's fine to continue as normal in first trimester as long as you feel OK doing it, and to make any adjustments you need if things feel uncomfortable, not to push yourself if you feel really tired etc.

From second trimester-ish they will start needing to adjust exercises you'd do on your front as bump may be developing and feel uncomfortable. Then later on they would prob also need to give you alternatives to exercises on your back.

Basically my advice would be to tell her and then she's aware of why you might be struggling at times and can adjust as needed.

I did Pilates without any issues in early days last time but stopped at around 8 weeks because I felt too sick and too exhausted. I've struggled to find a good class since my boy was born, perhaps I can find a postnatal class this time. I'd tell the instructor if you feel any discomfort.

MammaBear18 · 06/09/2017 13:30

@MotherofBoy I think I can help but show me what you mean in case I'm not imagining it correctly :)

MotherofBoy · 06/09/2017 13:53

So as I am moving next week I called gp practice I want to register with asking how they do midwife appts. They told me it takes 2 weeks til I will be on the system!! I'll be 7 weeks by then! Panicking a bit as am sure they do booking at 8 weeks. Anyway, so I found community midwives email online so have sent them an email asking if I can book an appointment with them but use my current gp details outside the area. Will see what they say... but bit worried will be difficult to arrange 12w scan etc if I am not even on the gp system til 7 weeks :/

mamma just a spreadsheet with columns people can edit with name, age, location, dc1/2/3, EDD, date of 12w scan, date of 20w scan, blue/pink/yellow etc :)

HerSymphonyAndSong · 06/09/2017 14:01

Thanks folks, you've reassured me that I should tell her

HoldTightPretendItsAPlan · 06/09/2017 15:19

Hi all, can I sneak in & join you? I got a BFP a couple of days ago, I think I would be due around the 19th May. I'm switching from delight and excitement one moment to utter terror that it might not last the next.

MammaBear18 · 06/09/2017 15:26

I created this: tinyurl.com/mnmaybabies

Let me know if you can access and edit it, hope it works!

MammaBear18 · 06/09/2017 15:27

Oh the hyperlink doesn't work!

Maybe this

Me again!

In the 'sex' columns if you type in boy, girl or surprise it will colour code that cell blue, pink or yellow Smile

Apparently there's such thing as non alcoholic gin. I might request some for my birthday! :)

Whatamuddleduck · 06/09/2017 17:04

Hi all despite having no symptoms I thought I'd take the plunge and book a midwife appointment. Booked for 20th sept and thankfully with the team nearest me rather than the one 8 miles away who's catchment area I apparently fall into, random!
Quite excited but terrified that there will be nothing to see at scan on Tuesday! Still getting good strong positives on hpt's. 6 wks 1 day today and no nausea. Anyone similar? Anyone know if taking progesterone somehow reduces symptoms?

Doublechocolatetiffin · 06/09/2017 17:08

There is indeed non alcoholic gin www.seedlipdrinks.com

I had some at a party a couple of weeks ago (in 2ww) and it was good. I'm not sure how gin like it was, but it was a nice drink Smile

Mammabear thanks for the document, I think I've filled it in!

MammaBear18 · 06/09/2017 17:36

MuddleDuck I'm the same, 5+5 today and still no nausea! It does worry me every now and again but like SexLube says not everyone gets it. It's all those movies putting the ideas in our heads! Grin

MooChops89 · 06/09/2017 17:42

I've had probs the mildest bit of nausea but not enough to make me think it's morning sickness. My friend who's 33/40 now said she had sickness between 9 and 16 weeks. I hate being sick but it actually would make me feel better if I was 😂

Dorotha · 06/09/2017 17:53

I crave smoked salmon and prawns. Had a huge tub of taramasalata in one sitting last week (before testing). Felt sick afterwards but that probably just greed related.
