BTW went to sleep thinking of thread titles, could only come up with June rhymes with Button Moon and Mr Spoon.

I'm really sorry.

Derlor, tell me about the choccies!! Whats the deal?

You mean you didn't wait for me to get mine so we could open them together??!!

riabutterflew · 07/04/2007 21:35

Am off to wallow in my misery and leave you all in peace.

It's the first time DHs daughter has been to stay in 11 years!(so obviously I can't say no). And will be the last unless she sleeps in the garden next time as there will be no room in the house.

Have substituted S&V crisps for chocolate, but it's not the same!

Holly, hope your weekend isn't too awful. Will you get a couple of weekends "off" when your LO arrives?

Have a good evening with those choccies - don't eat them all at once

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 07/04/2007 21:40

Hi chicks, hope everyone had a good day. How were the races foxy?

Hope you are feeling ok catkin. I know what you mean about your grandma and you are not a bad person. When my grandma died it was a relief, not for me, but for her I think. She had been ill for a long time and she wanted to die, so although it was very sad, it was also almost a happy time as I knew she was at peace. Hope that makes sense!

Loads of people have bought my dd really big Easter eggs and she is a very tiny person! I don't really give her chocolate that often and she has had loads today! I think I may have to dispose of the egss myself, obviously for her own benefit!!

We have had a lovely birthday picnic for dp today and now I am knackered! Have just had a blazing row with dp's youngest that ended up with me restraining him on the sofa to stop him strangling one of his brothers! Boys are so much fun! He also wet the sodding bed again last night. I have told him that if he does it again he will have to wear Dry Nites when he comes over. Am I a bad person?

catkin555 · 07/04/2007 21:42

Holly,
You are most definitely not a bad person. i would INSIST on the dry nites and a big crackly waterproof sheet too!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 07/04/2007 21:44

Hope your day is ok tomorrow Ria! Hope your dh's daughter doesn't sleep too late! We are having an ok weekend, it's just at this time of night I start to get fed up. I need my evening relax, but can't when there is a living room full of people. I am looking forward to my Monday with dp in the garden!!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 07/04/2007 21:46

Oh he has a crackly waterproof sheet! I'm sure there must be something wrong with him, he is 12 next month ffs!

doggus · 07/04/2007 21:56

Hi all, happy chocolate eating (I have bought 12 packs of Mini Eggs as Easter will be gone all too soon). I have had a lovely day shopping with a friend who pampered me and insisted on carrying my bags (!). I have bought a pair of leggings going against common fashion advice that if you wore them first time around don't do the trend again. Sod it.

I am very sorry about your gran catkin and add my voice to the 'why didn't anyone comfort you' brigade. Useless people.

Well done justbeme on 3.5 miles, I can only do 2 or so atm. I didn't live in the area in the 80s but had cousins we stayed with in Rickmansworth and other cousins in Amersham. We were all at the giggly teenage girl stage then. I love Herts and would move there in a shot but dh doesn't like it. Bugger.

Holly - whack that boy's bottom into pullups or something. Or buy one of those blankets that gives them an electric shock when they wee.

Marylou - I am going to invest in the Intelligent Pocket too - I have so many bags and am so lazy using them!

K1K2 - good to have you back, sorry that your immune system has gone to pot, I know how you feel. My virus has lingered in my ears and I am deaf as a post, never again will I be impatient with deaf old people. I hope the iron tablets help, eat some fruit (plums/prunes) to stop nasty constipation.

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 07/04/2007 22:13

Oooo..an electric shock blanket sounds like just the ticket! I found wrist strap on ebay last night that gives you a shock if you snore! I thought that was a work of genius and shall be putting one in dp's christmas stocking!!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 07/04/2007 22:31

I take it there are no other sad loners out there for me to talk to! I may just make myself a cup of Horlicks and take it to bed! Yes I am 93!

Have a lovely Easter morning with hot cross buns and Easter eggs for breakfast! Mmmm....I may take a snack up with me as well! Goodnight! xx

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 08/04/2007 10:23

TFCBW&SP!! Him and his bloody kids are doing my farking head in and if he doesn't take them home soon I'm going to go and live in the garage!

doggus · 08/04/2007 13:41

Poor poor you holly, if you weren't pg I would advise opening a bottle of wine, putting your feet up and just getting pissed! How about saying you are tired and just retiring to the bedroom with a book for the rest of the day?

Lovely weather here on the south coast, but stiff sea breeze precludes sunbathing. I can't be arsed to cook so we are going out for a Wagamama (my current addiction along with Mini Eggs and beetroot).

foxybrown · 08/04/2007 16:51

oh doggus, wish I was on the coast! How lovely on a day like today!

Are you getting peace yet Holly?

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 08/04/2007 17:20

Aaaahhhh!! Peace at last! Dp has taken the boys home and I'm being cooked dinner by my mummy! Real chips and egg! Mmmmmm! I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Gardening in the morning and roast dinner in the afternoon!

Hope everyone has had a lovely day and not eaten too much chocolate. I have slightly over indulged and feel a bit sick! Ooops!

TALLULAHBELLE · 08/04/2007 17:37

Just caught up with last thread after couple week's absence. Had bit of panic at the end - thought I'd lost you all. Will need to catch up with rest of the news later so will just say Happy Easter for now. And loving the new title - any complaints so far?

foxybrown · 08/04/2007 18:13

real egg and chips? What a treat!

I'm very much looking forward to my chinese takeaway tonight. duck. yum. went to see Scooby-doo on stage today. Kids loved it.

marylou23 · 08/04/2007 18:26

Doggus, we ARE the same person. Wagamama. Can't get enough of the stuff!
Am full of chocolate. DM's birthday today so had nice family day hanging out with parents, sisters, nephews etc. Lots of cake, lots of chocolate eggs. Yum.

Holly and Ria, hope the visitors are behaving themeselves/leaving you in peace now. Must be very hard having your space invaded like that.

Is anyone else finding pregnancy clothes getting too small? . I think I'm carrying very low (and high. Basically I have good coverage of the stomach region...) - if things aren't stretchy around the, ahem, fanjo region, they really pinch when I sit down. Maybe because I'm carrying all my extra weight around my stomach, too? And I really can't be faffed buying any new stuff - much as I love shopping, the prospect of spending money on somehting with a shelf life of 8-9 weeks is just not appealing... In this nice weather have taken to wandering around the house naked, but would be very scary for any one who inadvertently saw me, and this is also not a really look for leaving the house in

foxybrown · 08/04/2007 18:35

very much so marylou! had to change 3 times before I went anywhere today. Everything seemed so restrictive and uncomfortable. And I have 12 to 14 weeks left I think I'm having a 'puffy' day! I'm also needing to sit on my exercise ball for comfort instead of the sofa. Its way too early to be this uncomfortable!!!

Hope your pregnancy brain doesn't forget to remind you to get dressed before leaving the house!

doggus · 08/04/2007 18:39

Marylou, maybe you are my long-lost twin, separated at birth. Do you look like Susan Sarandon at all?! I can't believe how quickly you got me hooked onto those chocolatey biscuits, perhaps I can return the favour with beetroot?

With you both on maternity clothes - I have already thrown away two pairs of pg jeans as too small, I have been told I am carrying 'high' and it is all out at the front. In desperation I went to Evans and bought some elastic waist size 16 linen trews which fit perfectly...and you know, Evans is not at all bad, it's trendied itself up a lot. I am very loathe to spend real money on clothes now, so I am just going to wear smock tops and leggings.

marylou23 · 08/04/2007 18:54

Do you think I could get away with a toga? I guess I'd have to perfect a 'yes, I'm on my way to a toga party, actually,' look that would work on dubious shop assistants/friends/relatives... And we're only going to get bigger, too...

Anything good on telly tonight? Have a horrible feeling I'm going to be watching Zoolander on Film 4, repeating my hysterical laughter of Friday night's Starsky and Hutch fest. I guess pregnancy is really not the time to watch serious documentaries/films that focus on dialogue and characterisation instead of just farcical jokes...

Did anyone watch 100 greatest weepy film moments last night? (Obviously I didn't watch the whole thing. Was on my way to a toga party). Blubbed at number 97 and it was downhill from there...

Doggus, sadly do not resemble SS - not soulful enough. But I'll give the beetroot a go!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 08/04/2007 19:50

I love peace and quiet and sitting with my two best people and eating chocolate! Dp is watching cricket, but I don't care, I am just thankful for the peace! I have just apologised to him for being a moody bitch all weekend, this morning I smacked him round the head with the laptop! I am just so tired, he has been snoring and because the spare room has been full I've been sleeping on dd's floor. Not comfortable and great for grumpy fat people!

Hope you enjoy your Chinese foxy!

Yes my pregnancy clothes are a bit tight. I've had to ditch all the ones from when pg with dd, they are all size 10 and I am only that thin now in my dreams! I'm loving my M&S tracksuit trousers atm. I have 3 pairs and as soon as I get home I run upstairs to put them on. I haven't had to resort to wearing them out of the house yet, but it's only a matter of time!!

foxybrown · 08/04/2007 20:22

God, I'm confused! I responded on a breastfeeding thread and have been told that a breast never actually empties and that hind-milk comes through with the foremilk. For those of you who have done this before, have you heard the same? It doesn't make much sense to me as my first was a snacker so therefore not satisfied for long and so not getting enough hindmilk, so would be back on after 20 mins. Doesn't make much sense to me. Can anyone on here help?

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 08/04/2007 20:31

How odd foxy...when I used to express you could definately see the first milk was watery and would change to thicker creamy milk, so mine came through in two stages. Also if it was left to settle it would go into two layers. I have been told the foremilk is to quench the thirst and the hindmilk is to fill up tums. My breasts definately emptied as well. At 4 months she would empty me on both sides and be screaming for more. Maybe that was because my dd was a big baby and really greedy! I'm a bit confused as well!

bumperlicious · 08/04/2007 20:38

Sorry Foxy can't help. H&A, glad things have calmed down at your!

Oh, I just want to cry with disappointment. A while ago DH and I exchanged our Tesco clubcard points for £105 pounds of Madonald hotel vouchers, and next weekend were planning on just pooping down to the New Forest for a night to treat ourselves. We went to book it today and they bloody expired at the end of March. Oh, I'm so cross with myself. £105 of vouchers, what a waste and we were so looking forward to just getting away for a night in a hotel. I just want to cry. I've just emailed them and literally told them I wanted to cry and that I am 7 months pg and this was a last treat for us, would they take pity on us and replace the vouchers.

I'm just going to sulk for a while I one of those people too who will remember this FOREVER and will still be cross with myself when I am 50. Why did they need a bloody expiry date?

foxybrown · 08/04/2007 20:39

I'm glad your thinking is the same as mine, Holly. Being told otherwise has really bothered me. I'm not convinced by what they are saying, but because they do it with some authority its got me questioning it. Admittedly I don't know who these people are and on what basis they are qualified, but as a mother of 3 with a fairly good knowledge of maternal biology and an active interest in these things, its come as a bit of a shock! I think I shall ignore it.

derlor · 08/04/2007 20:40

evening girls,
foxy i have recently completed my UNICEF breastfeeding training course which is now essential for my job and would like to reasure you that whoever told you that "a breast never actually empties and that hind-milk comes through with the foremilk." is talking shite - you are right, foremilk is less nutricious for baby and it is essential that hind milk is given to enable sufficient growth and development.
of course breasts completely empty at the end of a feed - if that woman can't get her breasts to empty whilst feeding that is due to poor attachment of her baby and no other reason so there!!!!
