I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

I'm also on Venlafaxine as I have bipolar disorder. I'm on the highest possible dose (225mg).

I saw a specialist pre-natal psychiatrist last year and he said that as I'm considered a high risk of relapse it's much better for me to stay on it at the current dose than risk lowering or coming off it.

Hi - can I join please? I'm due my second on 25 March ( so a measly 4+1 today!) - already have a 5yo. I had forgotten the madness of early pregnancy though!

Moose23IsHungry · 17/07/2017 06:30

Congrats Nell!! I'm one day behind you and it seems so ridiculously early but it's on my mind 24/7..

NorthernBelly · 17/07/2017 06:37

Welcome @NellWilsonsWhiteHair

@xxHappyHippyxx thinking of you this morning, hope everything goes well at your scan - how many weeks are you now?

Pinky333777 · 17/07/2017 07:00

Congratulations to all I haven't congratulated!!!
It's great to see you all here Smile

I'm 5 weeks along, just embarking upon week six.

I awoke today feeling crappy - like I'd only had about 3 hrs sleep (I like a good 8!)
I almost feel like I have a hangover, tired and headachy - but without the fun the night before Grin
My throats and chest are sore too, I might be coming down with a cold.

On the plus side I told my bosses via email over the weekend.
We have a what's app group so I had many congratulations and supportive messages.
I'm a nanny, so my employers are more like friends. A nanny becomes an extension of the family really.
I was rather nervous about telling them. I'm sure 'I'm pregnant' is the one like nanny employers dread to hear! Grin
In any other job I wouldn't mention anything about pregnancy quite this early, but as summer is coming up and most will be off abroad for the summer, and the fact we were looking for another family with younger children to join our nanny share I felt I had to say something sooner to give us chance to alter our plans for September.
I'm glad I did, because at least if I go in this morning feeling a little worse for wear, I don't need to explain why! x

Pinky333777 · 17/07/2017 07:02

*line not like!

DancingUnicorn · 17/07/2017 07:19

Happyhippy thinking of you this morning. Hope the scan shows everything is ok in there, what a scary weekend!

Hello to new people! Congratulations!

TeaAndPjs · 17/07/2017 07:27

givemethetea it's crazy how all GPs are different in what they say, with last pregnancy I got taken off sertraline and told if they'd put me back on citalopram during pregnancy but I can't remember the reasoning behind it! Wish all GPs would give out same advice and keep it simple

TeaAndPjs · 17/07/2017 07:31

happyhippy hope all is ok when you get scan

ChaoticKate · 17/07/2017 07:36

Morning all!

@xxHappyHippyxx I've got everything crossed for you and really hope the scan is good news.

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with nausea whilst driving? I'm 7w today and feeling increasingly like the nausea is going to turn into vomiting at any second. I have a long commute and today it was pretty challenging; I did almost the entire journey with the window wide open wondering what the hell I would do if I threw up on myself. I've got wrist bands and mints to suck, is there anything else that might help? It's going to be a long few months otherwise!

Sallywiththegoodhurr · 17/07/2017 08:02

@ChaoticKate for me the only thing that's helped is ready salted crisps (I don't usually eat crisps often, especially that flavour!) so maybe try that and if they help, keep a packet on your lap?

Does anyone else have the urge to keep POAS?
I'm out of PT so just done an OPK and got a strong positive Smile

I'm 14 dpo, got my BFP on Friday at 11dpo and then a much stronger line at 12dpo. I blame mumsnet for my POAS needs Grin

BlueeSpottyTiger · 17/07/2017 08:11

sally haha I've started doing the same!! 🙈 I'm 24dpo now and the second my wee touched the opk the test line was so dark it was the colour of an aubergine, it is reassuring! I know I've been told off (hehe) for stessing myself out testing but i feel the need to do a digital just to make sure it shows 3+

Hey Nelwilsons nice to have you over here Congrats xx
hippy aww so worrying for you. fx everything is okay.. im sure it will be 🤞x

NorthernBelly · 17/07/2017 08:14

@Sallywiththegoodhurr I'm with you on the POAS addiction - I must have spent hundreds £££ in the last few months Blush Luckily I've now got to the stage where my hcg is high enough that I don't think I'd be able to see a difference on the hpt if it started to decline for quite a while, so I've decided there's no point carrying on testing. Last week I bought 4 superdrug cheap tests - did one that night = strong positive, did another the next morning = noticeably paler - I freaked out but it said on the packet that if you have high hcg levels you can get a 'hook effect' so I watered down the same pee I'd collected in the cup and tested it again with a fresh test = v strong positive. At that point I breathed a sigh of relief and decided that the tests were telling me nothing and I should step away from them!!!

SophSoph92 · 17/07/2017 08:15

I'm constantly testing as well @BlueeSpottyTiger. Like you said, it was reassuring when the pregnant line shows up as soon as the chemicals pass it, before even the control line! But that was my 12th test since finding out. I really need to stop! 😳

MrsW0812 · 17/07/2017 08:20

Fingers crossed @xxHappyHippyxx - bet that was all pretty scary. I'm hoping it's all ok for you.

@stumblymonkeyagain I'm on 150mg. I'm not at high risk but medium risk so my dr doesn't want to change the meds and said I'll be kept a close eye on apparently. Seeing her next week to break the news I'm preggers so I'm sure she'll chattonke more then.

It's so lovely to have some ladies who are in a similar situation with mental Heath - it sometimes feels very lonely and that we are all on this journey together 😀

Sorry - feeling a bit emosh xx

MrsW0812 · 17/07/2017 08:26

Sorry meant to say congratulations to everyone too! 😀

I've only done one test so far. My mum is visiting from Scotland for three weeks and hubby wants to tell both our mums together this coming Sunday so it's a bit tricky for me to retest - prob is a good thing though 😂

I've had bad nausea and soooo tired which is getting a bit tricky to explain - I'm hoping I don't actually get sick until I tell her - as I've no idea how I will explain that!!

Excited1103 · 17/07/2017 08:28

Now you're making me want to do another test, I only did 2; the normal one then the clearblue. I was planning to do an end of week clearblue for dating last week but I forgot so might try on Friday or Saturday. My 2-3 from 2 weeks ago (i.e. 4-5 when I was a theoretical 4w+1) should show in another 0.5 week as either 4-5 if 4w+1 is about right or 5-6 if I ovulated a bit early, so I can judge the real date better. (I don't know what date I ovulated on).

@HappyHippy - hope you continue to be ok.

user1497033503 · 17/07/2017 09:01

@happyhippy hope everything's okay, let us know how you get on x

xxHappyHippyxx · 17/07/2017 09:11

Thanks for all the crossed fingers! 🤞
@NorthernBelly I'm 7+4 today if we've calculated it right, was never exactly sure when I was ovulating though lol
Will keep you all posted Smile been drinking my bodyweight in water this morning, don't they know I need to wee every half an hour at the moment anyway don't know how I'll manage haha

FuzzyOwl · 17/07/2017 09:12

Hope the scan goes well @xxHappyHippyxx. Something like 25% of pregnant women bleed during pregnancy and 13% of them (so more than half) go on to have a successful pregnancy. If your cervix is closed, that indicates the baby is still safely tucked inside.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 17/07/2017 09:15

Thanks for the welcomes. :)

I hear you all on the compulsion to keep POAS... I have used five in the last six days (first one BFN, rest BFP) and used up my entire supply. Ordered some more Friday night 🙈 10 cheapies and a 2-pack of CB digi. I want to see the lines getting darker, and I want to indulge in the date thing on the CB. I am mad - last pregnancy I 'only' used three (cheapies) to confirm it to myself and didn't feel the urge again.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 17/07/2017 09:16

More crossed fingers for you here happyhippy.

catgotmytongue1234help · 17/07/2017 09:45

Interesting that others are also on medication. I take floroxtine for bipolar and my doctor was fine about me continuing to take it. I think they are happier with the 'old style' medications than the new gen ones?

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 17/07/2017 09:50

Fingers crossed for you, xxHappyHippyxx. Flowers

TeaAndPJs, that is strange! My GP showed me a chart with the relative risks of all the antidepressants in pregnancy, and sertraline was right at the bottom. Citalopram was pretty low too, though, so there may have been other reasons for changing in your case. I do think a lot of doctors are very bad at explaining things though!

FuzzyOwl · 17/07/2017 09:57

Waves back at @stumblymonkeyagain

I currently take a low dose of amitriptyline for arthritis pain but my doctor and consultant have known I have been ttc so went through my meds a while back to ensure they were safe for pregnancy. I really cannot bear a repeat of the anxiety/prenatal depression I have previously suffered when pregnant though, so will book an appointment to see my GP this afternoon. The next available appointment probably won't be for a month or so anyway, so better to book it now.
