I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

Hi everyone

Sophsoph - I remember having the pains you described last week. I was convinced that it was going to be a miscarriage or ectopic but they did ease off after a few days. I'm 5+5 today.(I am keeping a look out though for symptoms just incase) My little tip. If you find sneezing hurts your stomach try to put knees to chest before you sneeze!

Today i'm feeling really nauseous, completely out of the blue... do any of girls have any recommendations of foods to eat when feeling sick? (everything I have at home is making me go green!).

Excited1103 · 15/07/2017 19:40

Cream crackers seem good @onceuponamama

mamasiz · 15/07/2017 21:00

@OnceUponaMama Midwife advised me to eat a few plain crackers before getting out of bed in the morning which is easing the nausea a little. I'm finding cold foods are less likely to make me feel like retching. Peppermint tea is also good at taking the edge off, along with little sips of ice cold water.

Banania · 15/07/2017 21:33

Really cold Fanta or any fizzy orange seems to work for a lot of people wrt nausea. I've started feeling queasy now at 5+4 and have been dreaming of a fanta with ice...I never drink fizzy drinks when not pregnant!

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 15/07/2017 22:46

Ginger biscuits are good for nausea. If I'm feeling sick, anything dry and cold, like dry toast or crackers, or ice cold drinks, always help. Fruit sometimes helps too, especially melon and grapes.

Hi ladies

I got my first BFP this morning. All a bit surreal for me and DH as only started ttc mid June! I'm wary that this seemed too easy as I know so much can happen.

I think I'm nesrlyb5 weeks and due 20th march xx

user1497033503 · 16/07/2017 07:17

Hi everyone could I join please?
My story is I come off the pill 20/5/17 and had my first period in years 10/6/17 we started trying after that and I have no idea when I ovulated or anything but I started getting stomach and back cramps and my boobs were sore so thought I would leave it 28 days from my last period (as I didn't know my cycle length) so did a test and got BFN which I was gutted about!! So we thought we would keep trying but throughout the week my boobs got bigger and sorer and veiny and I was still having a dull ache so me and OH decided that with coming away today (family holiday with lots of alcohol and a bloody hot tub!!) we Should test again! So I went to do a test Friday fully expecting it to be negative and say we were having lots to drink, looked immediately after doing it and saw the one line so put it down to brush my teeth...picked it up after 2-3 minutes and it was positive!!! Never been so happy in my life I was shaking!! Did a clear blue yesterday too and got 1-2 so if we go on LMP I should be due 17th march but I think I must have ovulated late! Either way I'm so happy but trying to realise that things may yet go wrong! But I don't want to think like that I want to enjoy this time! No hottub or alcohol for me anyway haha

mamasiz · 16/07/2017 08:15

@GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt melon and grapes are working for me too Smile

BrainScramble · 16/07/2017 08:19

I always found ready salted crisps helped me when feeling nauseous, luckily I haven't got any yet but no doubt I will soon.

Congrats and welcome to those with BFP's Smile

Sallywiththegoodhurr · 16/07/2017 08:20

That was me ^^ I forgot I name changed Blush

Excited1103 · 16/07/2017 08:57

@Jacqueje - an article about cheese popped up on my feed, so you can study up on which are safe: www.babycentre.co.uk/x3175/is-it-safe-to-eat-cheese-during-pregnancy.
Some surprises that you CAN eat English goats cheese and Stilton. If you bake a brie or camembert, then you can eat that too.
So, suggestion that you get super involved in the prep and get them to bake a couple of cheeses for dipping veg / bread / breadsticks in. Then eat some hard cheese too. Do some plate shuffling and just say you tried but don't like any others.

MrsLoz · 16/07/2017 09:54

Hey everyone, hope you're all having a good weekend.

I'm 6+6 today, we have booked for a reassurance scan next Saturday and then got first midwife appointment a week tomorrow.

I'm back from my holiday, feel like a whale are far too much!! We told my mum yesterday, the first person we've told so far. She didn't believe us haha I literally had to show her my positive tests. Telling the in laws next weekend when we see them and then going to try hold off as long as possible with everyone else.

ironic · 16/07/2017 10:02

Hello - can I join too? Three tests, three faint lines last night and this morning. That would make due date around March 23 for me I think.
It is my first month TTC my first baby so I can't quite bring myself to believe it's true!

SophSoph92 · 16/07/2017 10:17

Ah I feel quite lucky with my midwife appts now! I'm in East Sussex and have my first at 6 weeks, then my 2nd at 8 weeks. I'm getting impatient enough as it is, not sure I could wait much longer!

SophSoph92 · 16/07/2017 10:18

Oops wrong thread! 😂

Excited1103 · 16/07/2017 10:41

I wish I was the same SophSoph. I registered online over a week ago but nothing yet. 6w tomorrow.

SheSaidHeSaid · 16/07/2017 10:52

I haven't heard back from registering online either, I'm 6+4 but only did it last week. I've got an early reassurance booked for Wednesday (7 weeks) and I'm glad I have now because I feel it'll be ages till I see someone otherwise and even though I have symptoms I still feel like I've dreamt it or made it up.

Seems a few people on here fell pregnant quickly after beginning ttc. Took me about 10 months, which in reality isn't that long but felt like forever!

Flatwhite31 · 16/07/2017 11:16

Bonjour ladies! Just queuing up for a boat ride on the Seine. I've felt really good this weekend with no sickness. Part of that worries me, of course, but I'm just determined to make the most of it and enjoy myself. I already look pregnant with really bad bloating!

catgotmytongue1234help · 16/07/2017 12:34

Morning ladies! I'm exactly 5 weeks and I have mega boobs! Very tired but no sickness yet tho I can smell dog & feet everywhere Shock ... am on a massive washing blitz! (My poor dogs!) I had my booking in app and my scan date came through yesterday for September... am so excited!

Jacqueje · 16/07/2017 13:03

@Excited1103 thanks soooo much for that feed, very useful. Maybe I'll try bringing along some safe cheese as a contribution, we would normally bring stuff anyway! Not sure if they'll go for baking the cheese but that is a solution for getting through the next 36 weeks, seriously since I mentioned soft cheese all I have wanted is a big slice of brie!

Jacqueje · 16/07/2017 13:06

@ironic hi looks like we're EDD buddies! 23rd March and first month trying too for me!

user1497033503 · 16/07/2017 13:26

Is anyone else really scared something will go wrong? I am symptom spotting for something to be wrong like mate, searching the symptoms for ectopic pregnancy and all sorts and I have no reason to as apart from my boobs being massive and feels exhausted I have no symptoms! What can I do to stop this? I'm only 21 with no medical problems, first time pregnant on first month trying and no previous MC so why am I so scared? Feels like I'm ruining it for myself

user1497033503 · 16/07/2017 13:26

Like mad**

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 16/07/2017 13:58

You're in good company, user - this is my second DC, and as my last pregnancy went so smoothly I am convinced that there's no way I can be this lucky twice, so something has to go wrong. Our own brains are brilliant at fucking with us sometimes...

Excited1103 · 16/07/2017 14:38

I just knocked my nausea on the head for the last hour and counting. Was a bit sicky, but I made up a lightly roasted (in olive oil) asparagus, onion, halloumi, chilli and potato hash. Stirred in some bits of grilled bacon medallions and served with an egg. I'm not sure what in that dish did it, but it smelled fantastic (I'm being fussy) and it's totally stopped my nausea.
