Hello! Just got my bfp, would love to join up with others expecting next Feb.

My DD is 16 months, so we're expecting (almost exactly!) a 2yr age gap all being well. EDD 2nd Feb.

Haha awesome. Thanks TriJo! I have a lot to learn... Smile

Emwahs · 14/06/2017 17:03

@emily I have been told more discharge is normal so you should be fine,

Does anyone suffer with hayfever? I need a magic wand as left work early because I am suffering so bad can't hardly see and stop sneezing.

RainyDayBear · 14/06/2017 17:30

Totally normal Emily - I just did a mad dash to the loo worrying that I might be bleeding, thankfully was just that!

Thinking I might have to 'fess up at work, was planning to keep quiet until September but I feel I should possibly give my HoD a chance to reallocate key exam classes. Also he keeps strongly suggesting that I go for a TLR (small promotion) that's come up, I don't think I want to, but couldn't do it and then turn around and announce a pregnancy. I know legally I can, but I only started at Christmas and they've been so good to me after the hell of my last school, I sort of feel I need to do right by them. Plus if things went wrong I'd likely have time off, so they'd end up knowing anyway! Can't decide, but am swaying towards saying something...

conkerchops · 14/06/2017 17:35

Hmmmmmm spotting seems to be turning into bleeding so this is not looking hopeful :-( probably back to the ttc board for me!

EmilyK83 · 14/06/2017 17:54

Thanks Em and Rainy! Em - afraid I don't, but a friend of mine swears by eating local honey to build up a resistance to local pollen...

Rainy - how far along are you?

Conker I'm so sorry - really hoping it's a false alarm :(

I have a pre booking in appointment on Mon, which I didn't know existed...basically seems to be an explanation of appointments and the chance to ask questions with other first timers. Will make it feel more real before my first real appointment in July, but part of me doesn't want it to feel real until I know things will work out...

Alicantine · 14/06/2017 18:17

@conkerchops Sorry about the spotting turning into bleeding. Hope you are coping ok although I understand you need to think about both outcomes. I have a little thought for @VocalCat who has not come here since yesterday (unless I missed a message?), I hope she is doing well whatever the bleeding turned out to be.

@RainDayBear I totally understand where you're coming from. I am still not willing to say anything until September purely because I know I can finish the curriculum by December and then after that it would just be exam papers. Obviously if something gets really complicated then my plan might backfire and my head might be left wondering what to do but I am so anxious something might go wrong I really don't feel like saying to anyone anything at work. I still have no real symptom apart from sore nipples, no nausea no nothing so as far as I am concerned everything is up in the air.

@EmilyK83 first time I am hearing about these pre-booking appointments too! Really funny to see the difference in local health offer...

@sanchezwasntdirty yes I agree with you about no social media just yet! and yeah I could tell it would have been his first for him to mention it with such enthusiasm to everyone lol. I guess he'll know for next time. Just re explain to him that it is actually a real pain having to go back to all the people we've opened up to early and say "no we've lost the baby" , and it is to avoid that issue that we do not say at the beginning. He will realise by himself.

@GingerRogers84 congrats on your symptom!! I am almost jealous. I am super tired too but then as I am always tired, I can't really count this as a symptom!

@Troika and @choochooo welcome!! Troika this will be my dc6 if the pregnancy goes through :) Chochoo I am sorry about your 3 mcs, I have had 2 so I know it's always tough to project oneself in the future when it is recurrent....

I am 5 weeks + 5 days and I also feel like days go so slowly. I am using OVIA app to track the pregnancy as suggested by a forum member in previous pages, and I like it, but every morning when I open to check the new day I feel like this was the day that was written the day before? How slow can this get?

I have no advice for hayfever or bras but hope solutions will help. Hope everyone is well this evening :)

VocalCat · 14/06/2017 18:44

@conkerchops So sorry and I really hope everything turns out to be ok.

Not such good news for me. Went to EPU and they have said I have either had a complete miscarriage or else have an ectopic pregnancy. I hope you all have smooth and uneventful pregnancies.

Loxy4527 · 14/06/2017 18:59

I'll look out for those TriJo thanks! I think I need to spend some time in a department store and try some new shapes.

Sending my thoughts to Vocal and Conker big hugs for you ladies. The realisation that getting pregnant doesn't mean staying pregnant is a tough one to swallow. I was aware of it when we started but never dreamed that I would end up being so harshly reminded of the fact. Look after yourselves whatever the outcomes xxx

Troika · 14/06/2017 20:15

So sorry conker and vocal Sad

conkerchops · 14/06/2017 20:36

So sorry @vocal - miscarriage is utterly rubbish! I had a feeling right from the begining that thisnwouldnt work out and have tried v v hard not to attach too much - but still feel utterly devastated now! I am determined not to retreat in on my self like last time though and have been out and helped at ds's brownies this eve and sung guiding songs loudly which has helped! Will call EPU in the am and explain to them - see if they want to scan - don't think they will as say it's too early A though not sure how they will know for sure what is going on if they don't?

EmilyK83 · 14/06/2017 20:37

Oh Vocal, I'm so sorry Sad

Alicantine · 14/06/2017 20:40

@conkerchops and @VocalCat I am ever so sorry. Keep strong but don't feel too shy to be sad or even cry. VocalCat I don't know if you have children but conkerchops I know you do and sometimes people around women who already have children do not really understand their heartache during a miscarriage, because you already have children. I know that I wasn't really allowed to "grieve" by some of my cosest and dearest, after my second miscarriage, because I already had 5 children. And although yes I totally understood where they were coming from, and I am grateful for what I have, it's just that it still is very difficult emotionally and physically, and not everyone understands that. DH for example was very casual and he only understood the impact that had on me much later.
So my advice is: take your time to be sad, and then keep up hope and do your best for what's next.

Blissfulignorance · 14/06/2017 20:44

💐💐💐 vocal and conker

conkerchops · 14/06/2017 20:44

Thank you @alicante xxxx

SofiePendragon · 14/06/2017 21:02

Vocal I'm so sorry Flowers

conkers fingers crossed for you. I hope the epu agree to scan you - it doesn't seem fair to leave you in limbo!

Choo! Welcome! So pleased to see you here! There are quite a few of us here from Js now!

I'm starting to get a few more symptoms. I'm quite tired, but now the nausea is starting to kick in, especially if I'm hungry. I'm off on holiday next week and hoping the sickness won't be too bad. Overnight ferry might be challenging otherwise - at least we've got a cabin booked!

UnglamorousMum · 14/06/2017 21:56

Hi all, can I please join?

Got my BFP on Sunday, so according to my dates I'm 4+1 and due on 21 February x

emwithme · 14/06/2017 22:21

vocal and conkers Flowers

I feel like absolute pants. DH shared his cold with me at the weekend he's so generous and I've actually had to take today off work. I'm not snotty, I just feel so gland-y and tired and achy (and feeling sick 90% of the time too), and of course, I can't take anything. So I've spent the day on the settee with a slanket, watching crappy TV and whining. Hoping to feel up to work tomorrow but really not sure about it.

My booking in appointment has been changed from next Tuesday to 13 July (I'll be about 10+3 then) - apparently there is a "mandatory meeting" for all community midwives when we'd had our booking in scheduled for, so we've been moved. We've got a private scan booked for Monday week (when I'll be 8+0) and I'm so nervous about that.

Has anyone done a list yet? If not, I'll do one tomorrow (brain permitting) so we can track who's who and due when and (in due course) whether we're team blue/pink/green (or is it yellow, I'm never sure)

GingerRogers84 · 14/06/2017 22:24

@emwithme I can't contemplate a cold on top of the tiredness. Hope you feel better soon!

Alicantine · 14/06/2017 23:15

@emwithme a list would be welcome. Brilliant idea. Sorry you're unwell :(

@Unglamorousmum welcome!! And Congrats! Is this your first?

@sofiependragon congrats on your symptoms (from the lady dying to have any symptom) and you're really brave to contemplate a night ferry journey in these conditions!

@conkerchops you're welcome, and yeah I hope they'll agree to a scan

UnglamorousMum · 15/06/2017 06:45

Thanks @Alicantine - no this is my second. DS will be 3 soon! Your first?

Alicantine · 15/06/2017 06:47

Nope, my sixth :). Dcs are 14, 12, 8, 7 and 6 :).

UnglamorousMum · 15/06/2017 06:57

Wow what a lovely full house you must have @Alicantine although I think we'll stop at 2 (absolute most would be 3) DH is one of 5 and whenever you walk into his parents house, it's so full of love. Memories galore even after they've all grown up and moved out. How far along are you? I'm on my phone and struggling to scroll back x

lookatthemoon · 15/06/2017 07:53

Welcome new people and congrats on the bfps.

Well I've discovered that pineapple can help with the morning (all day!) sickness. Haven't eaten it in months before now.

Vocal - I am really sorry to hear that. Take care Flowers

Conker - I'm not sure how far along you are but I was barely 6 weeks when I got a heartbeat last pregnancy - only on transvaginal scan though. Hopefully EPU will oblige. Good luck this morn Flowers

conkerchops · 15/06/2017 07:56

Definitely over for me - had horrible night of v v heavy bleeding and passing lots of clots and what I assume was pregnancy tissue :-( - am going to call the gp this am. Thank you so much for all your wonderful support and I wish you all v uneventful and easy pregnancies xxxxxx

EmilyK83 · 15/06/2017 08:02

Oh conker I'm so sorry :( Look after yourself lovely, can't even begin to imagine what you're going through xx
