Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

Right, I'm going to have a glass of hot milk and wash up now I think! Can't be doing with bed just yet... but if I sit on this stool typing any more my arms will seize up!! Night all!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/03/2007 07:41

Morning all
I feel better today. I drank 2 glasses of red last night and watched the Sopranos and slept pretty well-hooray!!
Lo was unusually wriggly in the night, really swishing my guts about.

Mossy, how are the old wrists today?

Laidback any movements your way?

Chocpenny?

LunarSea · 26/03/2007 08:12

Morning all. Now EDD+3 and no signs of anything happening. Still at least we got through ds's hectic social schedule at the weekend which might have been difficult if baby had arrived on time.

I spent almost all day on Saturday on my feet - helping with the school Easter Fair - and even that, plus a fair dollop of moving tables/chairs/boxes around didn't do anything more than make my feet ache! So did a repeat performance on the BBQ at the schools' race ds was taking part in yesterday - and it still didn't work, so I'll not be at all surprised if this turns out to be an April baby rather than a March one.

ds won his race btw - cue very pleased mummy as he's only 5 and it was an under 8's race for the whole region - so he'll be happily trotting in this morning with his medal and certificate to show them at school.

well done to your ds lunar, winning his race.

Chocpenny did things develop I wonder? That sounds like how my labour started too.

Where's laidback??

Mossie · 26/03/2007 09:05

Kitty I'm glad to hear you got some sleep! My wrists are a bit sore but not as bad as yesterday, thanks.

Lunar congrats to your ds for winning his race, he must be well made up!

Rosy do you think Laidback's finally gone into labour? Or could she just be having a lie in?

It's my EDD tomorrow, and I've felt nothing at all. I mean, in my head I've kind of accepted he'll be late, but still, it would have been nice to have felt something. I am starting to get a bit bored.

Time for the old nipple stim methinks. Could also try to persuade dh for a shag but last time I tried that he gave me a very odd look...

LunarSea · 26/03/2007 09:22

Mossie - I look at ds sometimes and wonder where on earth he got his body shape from. At 5 he's already got that triangular torso thing (wide shoulders, narrow waist, invisible hips and noticable muscles in his upper arms) going on. It certainly wan't inherited from me!

Rosylily · 26/03/2007 09:36

yeah, Laidback has to be in labour, she's always very efficient I think and she doesn't want to be induced. Come on Laidback, I'm here cheering you on!

Mossy my sis goes into labour with no warning/ bh palava. Her waters pop, have you got a plastic sheet on your bed? It could happen any time you know!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/03/2007 09:37

Yesterday dh said to me that soon it would be time for him to help induce the baby. OOh er, I almost got excited.
"What, does that mean rampant sex?" said I, hopefully
" Er NO" sighs dh " It means I am going to say " Come out Ronnie I've got some cake for you""
That'll do it then

Well my backache is shocking today, hips much better though. I can't stand for more than 5 mins. So I'd better spend the day on MN (it's a hard life)

Hope things have happened for laidback
40+5

Mossie · 26/03/2007 09:41

Lunar your ds is going to be popular with the girlies when he grows up then!

Rosy I do actually have a plastic sheet for my bed.... but with me being so stunningly organised it's in the wardrobe! Actually I bought it for after, don't want to bleed all over the nice new mattress (sorry I know that's a bit tmi) but maybe I should put it on now?

I really can't be arsed walking the dogs this morning. But they keep hassling me by being really cute, Merlin especially keeps putting his head on my knee. If they were being badly behaved I could excuse my laziness to myself but they're being adorable.

One more coffee then I think I'll go.

Mossie · 26/03/2007 09:44

Xposts Kitty, er, yeah, I've certainly heard about offering cake to a baby being an effective form of inducement

Actually, maybe that's my problem. Maybe I've eaten so many sweet things that my amniotic fluid tastes like cake and he's happy to stay in there!

Sorry you're feeling rough. {{{{hugs}}}}

Rosylily · 26/03/2007 09:58

yep Mossy, get that sheet on pronto! Made me sweat loads though.

Kitty I'm sitting here sniffing the baby, smells far nicer than cake follow your nose.... Actually is it the baby that starts labour? I certainly felt as if the baby was trying to get out a couple of times before labour began....

Chocolatepenny · 26/03/2007 10:10

HI All
Well I had many more aches and pains through the night but then feel asleep and today, nothing! trying not to feel disappointed but I was hoping that was it.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/03/2007 10:22

Rosy, he certainly felt like he was trying to burrow his way out last night . I love the smell of new babies. I've still got dd3 (15 months) as a baby, so I get my baby fix, she's just rather chunky and has sharp pointy teeth and a wicked sense of humour!!

Thanks Mossy, I don't feel rough emotionally today, quite chirpy actually- horray. The physical discomfort is annoying but doesn't bother me too much .

Sorry things have quietened down again chocpenny, it's very frustating, won't be long though

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/03/2007 10:23

Rosy Hassan is very cute!!!!! And you look very serene and loved up!!!!!

Rosylily · 26/03/2007 10:23

Chocolate, rest when you can, I bet it starts up again soon and it'll go up a gear at some point....eat, rest...keep us posted!

Rosylily · 26/03/2007 10:26

Yep Kitty I am totally loved up, no doubt about it

LaidbackinEngland · 26/03/2007 11:09

Morning everyone ! Your baby vibes worked !

I did it !

Woke up with pains about 2.45am. Woke up DH. Ran a bath. Contractions started happening quickly and painfully. DH phoned midwife. She arrived at 3.20. I had three huge and very painful contractions whilst standing up and leaning over the birthing ball. My mum ran out to the car to get the midwife's things but before she got back, I breathed him out gently and have just a small 1st degree tear for my troubles. No time for any pain relief ! ! I couldn't have asked for an easier time ... it all happened in less than an hour.

He weighs 8lbs 8oz and is absolutely adorable. We are calling him Amos. He is feeding well.

Had great joy in phoning the hospital to tell them I wouldn't be coming in for a sweep

Hope all of you have a great day and get your babies out soon !

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/03/2007 11:29

Wow Laidback, how very fantastic, so so pleased for you. I want that birth!!! Seems like you did alot of dilating 'silently' as they say. What a dream birth. Well done xxxxxxx Lovely name too

Mossie · 26/03/2007 11:31

Yay congratulations Laidback that's brilliant news!!! I bet you're over the moon and I'm sure you'll be very gracious when you tell the hosi where to stick it

Amos... great name!!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/03/2007 11:35

Right Mossy are there 4 of us ladies left? Who's next? (it aint gonna be me). I'm only giving birth if I can have one like Laidback otherwise I'm refusing .

Mossie · 26/03/2007 11:40

Well I think Chocpenny's going to be next... contractions yesterday, nothing today but that's what happened with Piffle. But where is Runningal today?

Jaysecond · 26/03/2007 12:10

oh and if anyone wants to see, i took Jensen over to see his Greatgrandparents on Friday, really cheered up my Grandad, whos been really ill. Some pics here Thankfully Jensens swelling, bruising and redness has now gone down, he still has bloodshot eyes and the whites are more yellow, but hes getting there!!

Rosylily · 26/03/2007 12:11

Lunar too.
Jay come and moan on the postnatal thread!
When I had ds2 dd was 22 months, it took 3 months for her to settle down gradually. I really struggled at the time. It will get better, try and go with the flow as much as possible. You can get on top of everything in time, lower all expectations on yourself!

Rosylily · 26/03/2007 12:21

Lovely photos Jay
