Well nearly 4am and as seems to be usual at the moment woke up to go to the loo and now wide awake......

Anyhoo it's probably time I posted properly

Edd is 15th December
8w 3d today
Age 33
Location Essex
Child no 2 (OHS 1st)
Midwife was on Saturday just gone
Had an early scan on Saturday also which confirmed dates and viable pregnancy. Lovely strong heartbeat but I'm still petrified of something going wrong.

Miami81 · 08/05/2017 04:17

Waves to Lola. Yep 4am seems to be my new wake up time. Already been to the loo at 1am as well.
Nausea kicked in yesterday - on older sisters advice I have reduced portion size and am eating more meals. If I eat my normal portion I end up blown up like a beach ball and writhing around with wind. Eating something small helps with nausea.
Yesterday was toast with a boiled egg (hard) for breakfast, we went to the shops and I thought I was gonna faint/vom at around 12 so DH got me a banana, a pack of ready salted crisps and a bottle of fizzy water. Lunch was pork gyoza from a market stall (it was the only hot food I fancied), came home and ate most of a small pineapple. Dinner was roast chicken with small amount of rice, peas and curry sauce. I need to plan out my snacks better. My proper nausea seems to be around lunchtime, I am freaking out as I have a big meeting on Tuesday at that time, but will just have to have a banana right before going into meeting!!

Has anybody hit week 8 and got considerably worse symptoms such as nausea and exhaustion. I'm really struggling. It's like having the worst hangover constantly and I can't go in the kitchen at all now. Help!!!!

Peachi82 · 08/05/2017 06:46

Ah, BeeMama, I feel for you. They were on offer, so I bought 3 packs, which means I have enough for the first 3 months 😷
I managed last night, but needed full concentration.
My boyfriend suggested to cut them in half. I will have to try this if I really can't get them down.

I'm 7+0 today, so start of the 8th week! Unbelievable! Working elsewhere this week, I hope my colleagues won't notice anything...

Peachi82 · 08/05/2017 06:49

Oh, there was another page of comments, I haven't seen! My apologies.

Nausea was a bit worse yesterday, and I feel nauseated now, but my boyfriend is in the bathroom, so I better keep calm! We need a bucket next to the bed just in case...

Chamonix1 · 08/05/2017 07:05

Morning everyone. Haven't managed to keep up with everyone over the weekend DH has been unwell and dd on top form Grin
Hope everyone is feeling okay and managing to look after themselves a bit.
10 weeks for me today and finally my app shows me something that resembles a baby!

7 weeks today.
I've woken up after 7.5 hours sleep with no nausea this morning. Kept waking up with sore boobs during the night but still more sleep than normal. I've stopped taking my pregnancy vitamin with iron and swapped the the folic acid etc from midwife. Stopping the iron has coincided with lack of nausea.

ScotsLamb · 08/05/2017 07:21

Beardy1 from what I've read it gets worse until 9 weeks when the placenta takes over and then nausea should decrease.

Beardy1 · 08/05/2017 07:30

scots I think this is what I've read too worryingly. I would just deal with it normally but I have a big conference I'm talking at on Thursday and I just can't get my head together for it.
The people who've had anti sickness meds. Have you found the side effects really bad?

Zaberwocky · 08/05/2017 07:49

Beardy do you want an honest answer to that?

Yes. To the point where I get around three hours relief every day, and vomit in between. The nausea doesn't stop, it's constant and drives me to bed because when I move my head or look at a screen I go lightheaded and dizzy.

I can't even dry my hair this morning. I'm 10 weeks so this really should be letting up by now, so I'm calling in sick (again) and heading back to the doctors for different tablets to see if they help. Going to ask for a couple of weeks off too, as the nausea is keeping me up all night.

Carlotta82248 · 08/05/2017 07:50

I must start being more nutrition conscious from today. My lack of healthy eating due to my stupid tooth and nausea is really bothering me, my poor blob! I think I'll get up and whizz up all the fruit up I can find into a massive smoothie X

Zaberwocky · 08/05/2017 07:50

Sorry that was so unclear!

Side effects for me include severe dizziness, headaches, and visual disturbances. Plus the added effect of not stopping the puke.

Beardy1 · 08/05/2017 07:51

Thanks zaber for the honest answer. I work in healthcare so know most of the anti sickness drugs and their awful side effects. The USA do have some better drugs. Why can't we have them?

I really hope you find something that suits you. Did u notice that it got worse after 8 weeks?

Carlotta82248 · 08/05/2017 07:59

@Zaberwocky and @Beardy1 sending love to you both xxx

Beardy1 · 08/05/2017 08:01

Thanks carlotta much appreciated. Never thought I'd feel so down in the dumps with pregnancy as we've wanted this so much after the MC etc but I'm feeling the burn today.

Zaberwocky · 08/05/2017 08:02

Beardy yes. It's been getting steadily more and more unbearable!

Carlotta thank you! And please don't stress too much about your eating.

Zaberwocky · 08/05/2017 08:06

I feel like I'm bunking off work Blush I hate calling in sick. But I need to get it over with ... now really!

Brens13 · 08/05/2017 08:16

Carlotta I'm exactly the same. Feel like I haven't eaten vegetables in ages - I have, but I think because in general my meals are a lot more carby and unhealthy it just feels like I've been really bad. I think as well because I'm not gaining weight, despite the increase in "bad foods" it's hard to stop lol. Yesterday I had a cinnamon bun, pulled pork and melted cheese baguette (with a bit of salad) and pizza and chips for dinner!

Mrsbluebell17 · 08/05/2017 08:37

Morning everyone. Well that was the worst night in a long time for me. Total insomnia until gone 2am. Then restless and achy sleep. Bad headache too. Ended up getting up around 2am and eating 3 ginger biscuits and having a glass of milk as I decided that maybe my headache was due to not eating enough yesterday - even though I'd eaten a fair amount, it wasn't anywhere near the amount I've been eating recently so I think that proves that I need to keep eating. Before that I'd drank gallons of water too but nothing sent me to sleep until I ate something.

Feeling horrific this morning with exhaustion and my painful spot too. Got a really early start tomorrow for work too which is already stressing me out.

Can't wait for be food shopping to be delivered later, lots of fruit included which I'm really looking forward to.

Hope you all have a good Monday.

Carlotta82248 · 08/05/2017 09:16

@Beardy1 us women are so hard on ourselves, telling ourselves we should be happy when we feel so grotty, be kind to yourself, it's totally acceptable to not love feeling crappy. I really hope it starts to improve soon.

I've just had a big smoothie and veggie sausage with tomatoes and scrambled eggs. Feels more balanced than the rubbish I have been eating (i.e. ice cream for breakfast when my tooth was bad Blush)

Carlotta82248 · 08/05/2017 09:17

@Brens13 sounds very like my current diet haha x

Zaberwocky · 08/05/2017 09:38

I GOT THE JOB!

Now I really must sort out my nausea!

Carlotta82248 · 08/05/2017 09:43

@Zaberwocky WineGin....oh no, BiscuitCakeFlowers

Huge congratulations to you x

Lolabee · 08/05/2017 09:48

Absolutely panicking at the moment ladies.
Tmi but went to the loo and when I wiped there was blood. Midwife is off sick so called the generic office who said to phone gp and get in there but all appointments have already gone. Waiting to see if they are able to squeeze me in somewhere.

Like I said panicking....

Zaberwocky · 08/05/2017 09:50

Lola is there an EPU they could send you to? How far along are you?

Try not to panic, I know how hard that is, and try to rest up in the mean time. Is anyone there with you?
