I can't imagine working feeling as nauseaus as I do lapin do your wrk know you're pregnant? Could they be flexible and allow you to wrk from home?

That's a good idea with the sling and single pushchair oyster I was debating the same but dd isn't walking yet so not sure if we needed to put baby in the pram how well she would cope. I suppose we could try.

I'm going on holiday later on, probably with minimal internet access, so if I go quiet that's why, back on the 28th. Hope those with scans coming up get on well, and for those not feeling well that the sickness eases soon x

CarlottaJo · 15/05/2017 07:19

Hope work isn't too bad Lapin, I'm off today before starting 3 12 hour nights tomorrow. Can't say I'm thrilled at the prospect :/ struggled with them last week and they really exacerbated my nausea. Seeing a friend and her 18 month old this morning then I imagine I'll be napping this afternoon haha x

Brens13 · 15/05/2017 07:50

Hope work isn't too bad lapin I wasn't looking forward to getting in this morning and I feel fine!

The midwife saga continues....finally had a call back from her (after 5 days) yesterday evening at 6pm. Managed to get my first appointment for the 30th. Then she starts telling me about the screening tests before she can send my scan referral form off today, and after a couple of beeps from her phone, she cuts off. I give it ten mins then call her back, it rings then once again goes to her voicemail (I swear if I hear it one more time I'm going to go mad). So I leave her a voicemail saying not sure what happened can she call me back to finish the conversation. Nothing.....I cannot stand people like that so I fear I may be asking for a new midwife before long if this continues.

Angielka · 15/05/2017 08:29

Sorry to hear that lapin good luck today Flowers

I am the opposite. 11+2 and only thrown up once a day for the past two days. Nothing today. Despite my brain saying it's normal hormone fluctuations and should be tailing off around now, I'm still panicking. Scan on Friday can't come soon enough ShockConfusedBlush

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 08:41

Hope it's a nice quick day Lapin !

My workload is now zero and I'm really struggling to occupy my time Sad other than my new eBay addiction ...

I'm pretty sure we'll end up with a blend of second hand and new stuff. Certain things I just can't justify buying brand new, like reuseable nappies!

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 08:45

I'm half tempted to start filling out a birth plan form 😂 Just to kill twenty minutes.

TipTop333 · 15/05/2017 08:49

With the cost of brand new prams, I can't see me getting anything but second hand. I'm refusing to even think about it until after 12 weeks though. I still can't accept everything will be okay until the 12 week scan
10+6 today, booking in appointment tomorrow and 8 more sleeps until scan!

Brens13 · 15/05/2017 08:57

Read some of the other threads on Mumsnet Zaber, keeps me entertained for hours sometimes. I'm currently reading one on someone complaining about a trampoline in the garden next door Grin I normally enjoy the ones about people's in-laws and sometimes wonder how I can subtly bring them into conversation with DH in the hope that he may see some similarities lol.

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 08:57

Tip I completely know what you mean, it just doesn't seem worth spending £600+ on one!

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 08:58

Brens Grin that is sadly, already my hobby haha! I may venture over to classics and find that vaguely terrifying scary story thread ...

Brens13 · 15/05/2017 09:01

Ooo I didn't know of the classics section.....I told myself I'd do some work at 9, but when I get bored of that I'll be straight over there!

TipTop333 · 15/05/2017 09:03

I'm not woo at all but that scary stories thread gives me the willies 👻

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 09:04

Same Tip 😂 I'm occasionally brace enough to give it a go. It's the story about the monk in the mirror that lady bought from John Lewis that makes me shit myself!

And sorry Brens I'm not proving to be a good influence!

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 09:05

BRAVE. Not brace. Though I do brace myself.

CarlottaJo · 15/05/2017 09:16

@Brens13 and @Zaberwocky this has recently become a favourite pass time of mine too, there's some bonkers people around haha, and people with absolutely no filter!

I'm definitely on the anxious bench this weekend, just can't accept there's something in there and that it might just be ok. So no buying here until post scan, although I wish I could just relax and enjoy the excitement more than anything x

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 09:27

Serious question

Is anyone finding looking at their computer screen is making nausea worse? Same with fluorescent lighting.

Brens13 · 15/05/2017 09:28

Aw Carlotta I'm the same. Firmly sat on the anxious bench as I just don't feel pregnant at all. No sooner do I think maybe I'm having a bit of a symptom then it goes again. I shouldn't complain as the other end of the scale sounds bloody awful and I don't know how everyone is managing it, but a little more of a reassurance that everything is ok would be great. Only 8+1, so another month of anxiety to come!

CarlottaJo · 15/05/2017 09:28

@Zaberwocky the lights on nights Envy

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 09:35

Carlotta relieved it's not just me then Grin

Brens just remember, as I'm sure you read that thread yesterday, there are many women that make it to the birth without any symptoms Smile please try not to worry.

And I think the answer to how people cope with the sickness, the answer is barely. You tend to give up on anything non essential Grin or prioritise your energy reserves. I know I'll be in bed between 6:30-7:30, so I tailor my day around that. All the screens and lighting at work do make me feel 1000x worse though.

Lolabee · 15/05/2017 09:38

Classics section?!?! Where

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 09:41

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics

There you go Lola but you cannot blame me for the hours you'll waste on there!

Brens13 · 15/05/2017 09:46

Thanks zaber yes I can imagine the screens and lights not making you feel any better. I've been getting headaches a bit, but think that I probably just need to drink more water on those days. Try to take breaks from your screen if you can, even if it's just a quick wander, but I hope you feel better soon.

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 09:50

Brens I've barely been looking at it to be honest, my phone is fine as it's flat on my desk Grin I keep wandering around and staring out the window, but I think it's the lighting.

May go sit in the cold damp mouldy dark toilet for a bit ...

Zaberwocky · 15/05/2017 09:52

Or I could just go sit at home 😂

macsworth · 15/05/2017 09:57

Mumsnet classics are my fave thing ever! And AIBU.

I lost a whole afternoon on this:
http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/2848553-To-cause-a-row-with-the-neighbour-over-parking

I'm still parked up on the bench too. Desperately want to buy some maternity trousers as my abs have completely let me down and there is a definite bump appearing. But I won't let myself until after my 12 week scan on Friday.
