Hey everyone 👋

I've been lurking for ages but have been worried about posting - pregnancy has made me ridiculously anxious about tempting fate!

I'll try and do the spreadsheet later but basically I'm 7+1 according to my LMP, although I had a chemical pregnancy the month before so that might have thrown the days off a bit. It will (hopefully) be my first baby. Thinking about booking an early scan for reassurance...

Am also feeling pretty guilty about the whole exercise thing... Am walking an ok amount but I just feel too nauseous/exhausted/hangry to do much else!

Brens If it makes you feel any better, I managed to punch MYSELF in the boob yesterday... Confused Grin

Also this is my first ever Mumsnet post so def gonna need some schooling in the acronyms! Smile

Bethany891 · 11/05/2017 06:56

Ours are fraternal twins and no history off twins I'm the first ! 😲 Excited and scared at the same time . Good luck on your rescan do you have a history off twins ? Congratulations !!

Bethany891 · 11/05/2017 06:58

6 week scan

December 2017 #4!
Mrsbluebell17 · 11/05/2017 07:15

That's awesome Bethany. No history in our family but then I've read that this type of twin isn't genetic, it's just chance of the egg splitting rather than two being fertilised. Congrats again to you.

I don't know whether I think it's twins or not for me, she measured two different fetus' and took two heart rates but she was so unsure so I'm not sure what to believe. Time will tell on Sunday I guess.

9 weeks today, midwife booking in appt next week, so hoping that my scan is between 12 and 13 weeks so we can tell people in 3-4 weeks time now. Also we go on holiday on 13+1 for a week so needs to be before that.

Welcome feeling. I know how you feel about jinxing it etc. I haven't dared buy anything yet but I think I will after our second reassurance scan this weekend. This is our first so we have nothing so we need to start preparing ourselves and spreading the cost of stuff - that's my concern.

Lixon · 11/05/2017 07:16

Congratulations and welcome Bethany, I hope all proceeds smoothly - must be a lot to take in! I have added you to the Facebook group.

Welcome to feelingcalledlove too, lots of us with anxiety and rubbish histories here so you'll fit right in. Keeping everything crossed for you this time round!

Lovely scan Annie, glad all looks good :)

And good luck today southy, I'm already panicking about my next scan in 8 days!!

I have done no exercise in weeks but might try a yoga class today..

On mood swings I ended up telling my mum last night (we're temporarily living with parents) because I was a bit teary anyway thinking about things going wrong on the way home (mostly just a lack of sleep for the last month!) and then she criticised me for something when I got in and I just burst into tears. She is very happy and had kind of guessed and also Cried for upsetting me so at least it's not just me being emotional :)

Lixon · 11/05/2017 07:21

I will also be thinking of you over the next few days mrsbluebell, can't believe how patient you are! Completely get the not jinxing things, can you start saving to purchase things later? With everything that's gone wrong I'm not sure we'll buy anything until much closer to the time, but given we're spending every penny we have (and then lots more we've borrowed..) on the house it probably doesn't make a difference! Luckily I have a few friends who will donate car seats etc I think.

Mrsbluebell17 · 11/05/2017 07:26

Lixon yes we've started saving as much as possible to try and help. It'll be different if we need two of a lot of things although I found a useful thread about what is necessary with twins so I'll refer to that when I need to. Eeeeek. Believe me, we are not patient. DH and I can't stop thinking about it and the time is going SO slowly! Smile

Bethany891 · 11/05/2017 07:34

@Mrsbluebell17 must be awful for you having to wait only a small count down now will be thinking off you !!

Zaberwocky · 11/05/2017 08:00

Ugh. Back to work today. I'm currently hiding in the toilet avoiding it! I literally cannot wait to leave this job.

Now if only I knew who my line manager was so I could tell them I'm leaving Hmm ...

Brens13 · 11/05/2017 08:06

Lol zaber how long until you can start your new one? I'm already counting down until I can got on Mat in December Grin

Zaberwocky · 11/05/2017 08:41

I'm waiting on my DBS Brens Grin but I'm handing it in today. I have no interest in 'working' past the 31st. But they'll probably make me continue till the 8th ...

Peachi82 · 11/05/2017 08:41

I will literally start with no money 😂
Once I've paid for the deposit, the solicitor, the removal, I might have a grand left to my name ☺️ But it's OK, this is how I wanted it (house is solely in my name, so I pay for it), but now I hope my boyfriend can maybe help me out a little bit with the baby stuff. But still, there are some pay days left until December 😉 so I might recuperate a little bit.
We also need a new car I'm afraid... I have a smart, so deffo no room for three 😂😂

Lixon · 11/05/2017 08:48

Good luck with the saving mrsbluebell, hopefully as you say twins won't quite mean two of everything. I hope the days pass nice and quickly..

I hope it goes well zaber and that you get to leave at the end of the month!

Good luck peachi, am sure boyfriend will help with baby stuff and it will be amazing owning your own place and having that security for the baby. If he'll live with you will he pay towards bills too? We need a new car too, will hold off for as long as possible and get something second or third hand I think. No idea what as I hate driving anything big!

feelingcalledlove · 11/05/2017 08:50

Definitely too scared to buy anything yet (actually I bought one thing when I found out but haven't told DH as I reckon he'd think it was waaaaaaay to early!) But nothing major. We might still end up moving house between now and December so feel like I can't really think about buying anything until that's done...have got enough crap to move as it is! Smile

Congratulations on getting the new job Zaber, hope the wait to finish the current one doesn't go too slowly...

Peachi82 · 11/05/2017 09:11

Lixon, oh, yes, he will pay towards the bills and we will split the regular mortgage payments as well (as we do with the rent now). It was just easier to process the house buying like this (a lot less paperwork) and will give me a little bit of security as well. Just need to sort out life insurance and a will, all in his favour, now, so he and the baby will always be safe 😊

I feel very crampy today (no blood though) and a bit different, not sure if this is a good sign. Also could lie on my front for a little bit this morning, I wasn't able to do this in weeks due to my exploded boobs 😂 Hope the bean is still well and this is not the first signs of it saying goodbye 😢

Peachi82 · 11/05/2017 09:12

Re car... I really need to read up a little bit and it won't be an easy decicion.
I want a reboarder car seat for after the baby seat and they don't fit in every car, but are much safer than the forward facing ones.

Carlotta82248 · 11/05/2017 09:12

Morning and Goodnight from me ladies, hope you hope enjoy this sunshine while I'm in the land of nod! Last one tonight Grin

Lolabee · 11/05/2017 09:20

peachy my boobs have also calmed down a bit so I wouldn't worry too much. And I'm crampy but that's hopefully probably just the uterus doing its thang and getting ready. Flowers

Brens13 · 11/05/2017 09:23

Peachi I'm also retaking my seat on the nervous bench (I've bought croissants this time).....just feel like any symptoms have gone right down and I'm only 7+4. Boobs are less sore, and haven't grown that much. Have only really had slight nausea and that is still there occasionally. Am still pretty constipated (nice) but that could be down to all the awful food I've been eating lol. Only thing that is unusual is that despite stopping exercising and eating more I haven't gained any weight. I'm sure all is fine but I'm getting closer and closer to booking a reassurance scan! I'm sure you're fine too and it's just the changes in our hormone levels affecting us in different ways.

Need (want) a new car too, but gosh are they expensive!

Peachi82 · 11/05/2017 09:24

Lolabee, I really hope so. I feel like puking as well, so this makes me feel terrible and relieved at the same time. Pregnancy is such a joy!😂

Peachi82 · 11/05/2017 09:27

Brens, edd date twin 😊 I think I see when they are offering me the booking appointment and see whether I need a scan before, because they won't see me before October or something like this. It would be amazing to see the little one, but devastating if something would happen between the private scan and the official 12 week one.

Brens13 · 11/05/2017 09:32

Ah, well then if we're both feeling a slight drop in symptoms maybe it's totally normal if we're at the same place Smile I'm going to try and hold out for the official one too, I just wish we had the date already so we had something to look forward to. I feel like it might be October before I hear from anyone too!

Peachi82 · 11/05/2017 09:34

Just imagine walking heavily pregnant in October to your GP to ask when your first scan will be 😂

Ahhh, I need to do some work............ I'm on a different site today than my boss, but I can feel him breathing down my neck 😆

Brens13 · 11/05/2017 09:37

I haven't done much work this week, everything I've got on my desk at the moment is boring little annoying jobs so I'm distracting myself with some hilarious mumsnet threads instead. Some people have very strong opinions on other people's lives!!

macsworth · 11/05/2017 10:04

Sorry guys, didn't mean to make anyone feel guilty about exercising. Just interested in those that do. Completely understand 1st trimester is the hardest time to even contemplate it!

Glasto I'm exactly the same, I cut down on my running loads when TTC and desperate to get back to it.

I ended up going on a bike ride with DH instead of a run because the weather was so nice. It actually energised me for about an hour after...I then fell asleep on the sofa as always!

Bluebell my friend has twins and joined a FB twin group for her area and ended up getting so much secondhand stuff for either free or really cheap! Can't wait to hear your news

zaber I finish my job next Friday and can not wait so totally get where you're coming from! It's also the day of my 12 week scan...it's going to be a long week!
