Hi all! I couldn't find this new thread and thought everyone had gone to Facebook. But here you are Smile.
I'm kind of in a bad way. Have had bronchitis for 3 weeks and on Friday I coughed so hard that I tore the cartilage on my rib. It's absolute agony and all I can take is paracetamol.
Am quite worried about the effect all of this is having on beanie boo. I really hope he/she is ok in there

Brens13 · 09/05/2017 10:38

Tootsy that is excellent news, really pleased you can stop worrying (quite so much) now.

Carley27 · 09/05/2017 10:53

Yay tootsy! So pleased for you!

Ouch Lapin - that sounds very painful. Hope you're taking it easy and it doesn't take too long to heal.

Had my booking appointment this morning, wasn't very exciting but another milestone met. They're going to arrange a new scan date as they booked me in for 31st May when I will only be 10+4ish (they thought 11+4 but yesterdays scan agreed with me!). MW is hoping I have an xmas baby Grin

Angielka · 09/05/2017 11:07

Yay tootsy! Must be a big relief

Ouch lapin Shock** you poor thing! I'm sure your little bean is fine in there but look after yourself Flowers

DoctorDonnaNoble · 09/05/2017 11:13

1 week until scan day!

glitteryvibes · 09/05/2017 11:24

Glad it went well tootsy

lapin that sounds painful, hope it starts to ease soon but I'm sure the little one is fine.

It's ok to have macaroni cheese for breakfast yeah? 😂😂 All breakfast items make a reappearance so I went for leftovers instead. Still feel sick but least it's stayed down.

Anyone else get a persistent nasty taste in mouth? Someone please tell me it goes after the first trimester.

Bisquick · 09/05/2017 11:33

Oh Tootsy that's lovely! So happy for you.

And Lapin I'm sure the little bean is fine! Just try to get as much rest as possible.

MontyPants · 09/05/2017 11:35

I've got my first midwife appointment this afternoon. So nervous! I don't like blood and urine tests at the best of times, but I'm just worried because I want the midwife to tell me everything is ok.

TootsyBella84 · 09/05/2017 12:04

I have my booking in appointment this afternoon too Monty although last time it was just filling in all the paperwork and then I had to go back separately for the blood tests. I'm guessing it will just be the same today!

So sorry for all you suffering sickness and nausea, the cyclizine seems to be working okay for me just now. I'm only being sick 2 or 3 times a day now so I'm taking that as a good thing!
I hope you can all get relief somehow, definitely seek help if you're not coping. I was being sick every 20 mins and not even keeping water down, the last thing you want is to be admitted and stuck on a drip!

Ouch Lapin that sounds painful!

Queen0ffaff · 09/05/2017 12:12

That's great news, Tootsy, and Lola. What a relief for you both.

Sorry to everyone who's really struggling with the "morning" sickness. I thought I was getting away with it, but it's caught me yesterday and today - nothing like what some of you are dealing with, though, so you have my sympathy!

Zaber, I've also had friends unable to make a 90 minute journey out to us with a small baby - this might legitimately be your best response for the situation!

Queen0ffaff · 09/05/2017 12:19

Missed this last page somehow! Lapin - you have my sympathy with that, I've got inflamed cartilage at the bottom of my ribcage at the moment (it's a loose joint for me normally, but all these hormones are playing havoc it and my ribs just won't stay in place). Testing it must be horrible. Like you my main concern was any effect on the baby, but I've been assured it won't have an impact... Just trying to keep as calm as possible with it, but it's really not nice, I know Flowers

Queen0ffaff · 09/05/2017 12:19

*tearing it

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 12:30

Queen I'm just going to say I don't feel like it 😂

Right ladies. You're all too bloody distracting. I need to be using my day off sick to get some coursework done. Seeing as there's a ticking clock to get finished!

Queen0ffaff · 09/05/2017 12:37

Also a very good response, Zaber!

Carlotta82248 · 09/05/2017 12:52

Just had my booking appt :) next stop 12 week scan x

Lolabee · 09/05/2017 12:53

That's great news tootsy

lapin sounds like you are really having a tough time Flowers

I'm gonna hopefully not jinx myself when I say I haven't actually thrown up yet. It's just nausea atm.

DiveItLikeYouStoleIt · 09/05/2017 13:04

Hi folks, I'm sure has has been discussed recently but between nausea and vomiting and trying my best to actually parent the 2 I already have, in finding it hard to keep up so apologies for my repetition of a theme but I'd like advice...
Am 6+1 and I discovered brown discharge yesterday and there's more today. There's no cramping really but my tummy has felt weird (like I have wind or similar). I feel so pregnant though, my boobs are huge and sore and I'm ill and absolutely knackered.
What do I do? Never had bleeding in a pregnancy bar vey first pregnancy where I miscarried. Little concerned but trying to be pragmatic about it. Do I call the midwife? Is to to early? They can't really do anything can they!!
Thanks in advance

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 13:07

Dive at six weeks an EPU would be happy to see you for a scan, at least then it'll reassure you.

Brown is likely to be old blood, possibly even implantation related if you maybe ovulated a little later than you thought. The weird sensations could be your uterus stretching.

Call your midwife though Smile that's what they're there for. No pain is good. But there's no harm in getting some reassurance.

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 13:08

Oh. And I'd keep a pad on, so you can give them an accurate measurement of any bleeding and discharge.

TootsyBella84 · 09/05/2017 13:09

DiveIt can you call your EPU and speak to them? Brown tends to mean old but I think it's always best to get checked and put your mind at rest x

MummyHenman2be · 09/05/2017 13:19

@DiveItLikeYouStoleIt I had brown spotting from 4 weeks to 5 and a half weeks so know how worrying it is!

Mine just seems to be when I had a bowl movement and the midwife said it was very common and probably due to the pressure down there. She said that it was most likely my body just clearing everything out and could have been implantation related. I spoke to the doctor and midwife about it a couple of times and both said to only worry (as if it's that easy) if it turns bright red and you have painful cramps!

My cousin, who now has a healthy and happy 8 month old, had heaps of brown discharge right up to being 5 months pregnant- so much so it leaked through her jeans once, bless her!

I know everyone is different but more often that not brown is okay!

Speak to your doctor/midwife but I hope I have put your mind at ease somewhat!

Xxx

DiveItLikeYouStoleIt · 09/05/2017 13:23

Thanks for your replies. I'll give the midwife a quick call and see what she suggests and get a pad on.

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 13:27

I really think that's for the best Dive, there's no sense fretting if you don't have to. Does it look like it's stopped now?

MummyHenman2be · 09/05/2017 13:28

Bowel not bowl... obvs!!!

Carley27 · 09/05/2017 13:38

Lots of booking appointments today!

Hope you're ok and midwife puts your mind at ease dive. As others have said, brown bleeding isn't as concerning as red, and no pain is a good sign. Flowers
