Mum
You Definitely need to get seen to today that sounds awful and quite scary.
Tootsy
Thinking of you today.

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 07:35

And I know this is such cliche advice, but it's helping me get through the worst few hours of the day. Have you tried flavoured ice cubes? Even made out of squash or smoothie or something. I find sucking on one of those helps me get some extra fluid in and keep it down.

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 07:45

Ah. I give up to be honest. It's all been said before. I suggested secret santa several times, cut down on what was normally spent, to be honest last year was the first year I'd gotten a present despite having been together and contributed to their Christmas presents for 6 years Hmm I know you don't give to receive, but his immediate family alone on a budget of £20 a head is instantly £240. They're such materialistic people as well, they just aren't satisfied with whatever we buy.

I did some lovely family hampers two years ago, they worked out around £20 per household. But DH's family openly criticised them binned them in front of me. So I won't be bothering with that again.

I may just ban Christmas Grin

derryjojo · 09/05/2017 07:54

They binned them in front of you? What ignorant people! That would have been the last straw for me. I wouldn't be spending another penny on them.

TipTop333 · 09/05/2017 08:02

Zaber definitely ban Christmas! I think it's dh that you need to be firm with and get on side, ignore his awful sounding family.
The baby might be 3 weeks old but it might also be 1 week/10 days old. You might be suffering badly from the result of labour (cs scar, stitching etc), and you may still be establishing whatever feeding method you choose.
Tell everyone you are staying there and all are welcome but just can't commit to such a long journey so early on.
When I told my parents, we briefly mentioned Christmas and my mum said "you will have priority with whatever location you choose and even bedroom." And that's how it should be!

Carlotta82248 · 09/05/2017 08:05

@Zaberwocky how rude! We do a secret Santa for the adults £50 and works well, it never ends up very secret and most people end up saying what they want but it saves on massive cost x

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 08:06

Ugh. I think that's what I'm going to say. I don't see why I should budget for them in a way that minimises my Mat. Leave.

I just don't get it. My parents are so laid back. They don't care if we celebrate Christmas in July 😂 !

How's everyone doing this morning?

Carlotta82248 · 09/05/2017 08:21

I'm ok, had my first good tooth day in over a week yesterday, was a beautiful thing! Got the MW coming this morning Smile

My healthy eating didn't go so well but I at least had some fruit and veg xxx

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 08:24

Carlotta I think you have a fab excuse for taking it easy on the healthy eating Grin I wouldn't stress too much about it.

derryjojo · 09/05/2017 08:34

Please someone tell me that they have a magic cure for morning sickness. Yesterday I couldn't keep so much as water down and I think today is going to be the same.

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 08:40

Derry I present to you ... the cure!

In all seriousness - I was not sick all night and actually slept.

December 2017 #4!
Annie1290 · 09/05/2017 08:51

To all suffering with sickness, please go and get seen. If you are not keeping fluids down/being sick every 30 mins, they will want to see you due to dehydration risk. Don't end up like me on a drip. They can give you tablets that will deal with the worst of it. I'm feeling better now, although hugely tired.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 09/05/2017 08:53

I'm a zombie today. Today is a CBeebies day. So glad that my SIL cancelled our soft play play date! Just over 3 hours until I can declare nap time 😴

TipTop333 · 09/05/2017 09:09

What Annie said. Please go and get seen Derry, vomiting to the point of not keeping fluid down is not considered a 'normal' level of morning sickness and you may need treatment!

Dd woke up early AGAIN because she had taken herself out her duvet and then got cold, getting fed up now! We've had CBeebies on since 7am doctordonna so joining you there!

derryjojo · 09/05/2017 09:12

I've been given cyclizine but it hasn't helped. I'll have to go back to the gp to get something else.

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 09:18

Derry it made me feel worse as well. What I'm on now is the only thing that's made me feel vaguely human.

Brens13 · 09/05/2017 09:26

This all sounds awful, Flowers for you all!

I'm 7+2 and thankfully seem to just be feeling nauseous every 2 hours and if I have something to eat it stems it for another couple of hours.

Really hope you all start feeling better soon x

Mumoftheark · 09/05/2017 09:33

Thanks all. Feeling slightly more human this morning although I do tend to get worse as the day goes on. Managed to drink a glass of water this morning which so far has stayed down. Will see how today goes but if it continues and I don't manage to eat anything or at least keep drinking will definitely get some help.
DH is military so not the easiest to be able to come home regardless of what's happening 🙄

Carley27 · 09/05/2017 09:43

Feeling for all suffering with nausea/sickness, it sounds awful. Hopefully it gets better soon.

Thinking of you tootsy Flowers

Peachi82 · 09/05/2017 09:43

Had a rendezvous with the toilet this morning... :-( 5 minutes of gagging. I so wanted to go back to bed.
I tried to book stuff for my other workplace for the rest of the week because I'm less supervised there and can get home early and take it a little easier. Here, you cannot even sneeze, without people asking how you are (don't get me wrong, they are all nice, but I guess me being sick on the toilet will spread the rumour very quickly).

Brens13 · 09/05/2017 09:58

That sounds like a good plan Peachi. One of my colleagues has been telling me since the end of last week that I look ill - thanks for that! lol. I'm obviously pretending I'm completely fine - can't wait for them to finally know!

BeeMama2017 · 09/05/2017 10:02

@zaber I've heard what @miami said too, my sister lives far away so she couldn't see us at Christmas last year with a 6 week old so it's probably even less safe to have a younger baby in a car seat for a long period of time. Surely your DH will back you up on that if it's for the safety of the little one.

So sorry for all you mamas with sickness, I've had it a few times but nothing like that. Fingers crossed that it'll be over soon! Flowers Flowers Flowers

I hope things are going well for you today @tootsy

TootsyBella84 · 09/05/2017 10:11

Hi all!!
Hope you're doing good.
My little bean is okay and looking loads bigger compared to last week. Can't find any cause for bleeding so thinking it may just be old stuff clearing out.
This little one is certainly keeping me on my toes ❤️

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 10:14

Oh Tootsy I'm so relieved for you Smile

Zaberwocky · 09/05/2017 10:15

Mum ugh I know what you mean! It's a pain in the arse trying to get them to leave work.

The look I got for asking if he could leave his desk to go to the scan tomorrow 😂
