I'm huge for the number of weeks I am - in preg clothes for nearly 2 weeks now as my trousers were too tight. The more kids I've had the earlier I've shown.

betsycoe · 12/04/2007 22:44

Just noticed that the October thread has continued to a new page. Must be the hormones but I'd linked the old thread as a favorite and just assumed that I'm the only one obsessed by MN! I can't wait until after the birth and I get my old brain back...

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their growing bumps!

buffythenappyslayer21 · 13/04/2007 10:04

morning everyone!!its lovely here again today,so am going to get all the jobs done around my house that need doing!!got dh to go in loft last night to get out ANOTHER pushchair that im plonking on ebay!decided to have a mass clearout ready for when we move (i know its not til october but what with the baby coming then aswell i feel like ive got to get things done early!!)

my bump is huge!!!dh has got a stethascope and was listening to my belly the other night.all he could hear was alot of popping noises!!(definately wasnt wind but god knows what it was!!)going shopping next week for some more maternity clothes, especially trousers.

been egtting nose bleeds quite abit, nothing too much to make me worry, but am wondering why im getting them.friend of mine said its common to have them, but dont remember having them with any of my others, might have had but got a case of baby brain, cant remember things from last week never mind years ago!!

hope you all have a great day!!!

Pebblemum · 13/04/2007 11:22

Morning buffy, just to let you know my LO is still breech, been trying all the different positions to shift her but she seems quite comfy where she is. Have to see a consultant in 2wks to discuss manually turning her and if not then its a sunroof jobby for me . I suppose a planned cs is better than an emergency one. All i have to do is make sure i dont go into early labour lol, like some of the others on the May thread (we now have 3 new mums and another one missing in action)

As for nose bleeds i had them for ages this time around nothing to worry about just another joy of pregnancy

Anyway take care and i will email you soon

HIjack over!!!

Hillbilly · 13/04/2007 13:32

Hi everyone,

Not posted for ages, in fact since I had my scan on 3rd April. Had a absolutely horredous shock to be told that I had a 1 in 4 chance of the baby having Edwards Syndrome which is a chromosomal problem ad is almost always fatal to the baby. I would either miscarry or if carrying to term, the baby would only live days or weeks. As you can imagine I was distraught and could not even face posting this news on MN.

The scan was at a private clinic so I decided to get in touch with Queen Charlotte's where I am registered to see if I could get a further scan. I had the scan on Tuesday and the consultant told me that he could see no sign of the exomplalos (part of baby's bowel extending into umbilical cord)which had been the sign of the high risk for Edwards syndrome. Furthermore he could see no sign of it on the pictures taken by the private clinic. Saw for myself also that there was nothing to indicate abnormality.

Anyway I am going to be scanned regularly at QC and put under the consultants care wjhich is great news.

So have had a confusing time of it and still need to speak to the private clinic about what they saw.

Feel a lot better now, and saw that the baby is the correct size for dates and also has all fingers and toes! Was told brain & heart all apear normal too.

Sorry I have not even been following this thread since then and have not cought up with it at all. I just saw on the scan list that my scan was all fine and thopught I had better let you know what happened.

Thanks Mumpbump for thinking of me on scan day.

Hope I can now keep up with the thread!!!!

buffythenappyslayer21 · 13/04/2007 15:36

hi pebblemum!hopefully she'll shift around before you go into labour.dont like the idea of the manual turning.they told me theyd try that with amelia, like i told you i did the all fours thing and she arrived the next day!

just give her a nudge and tell her to spin over!!

a planned one would be better tahn an emergency.i had emergency with nathaniel and it was awful, didnt know what was happening as it all happened so quickly.hoping my planned cs this time will be a lovely relaxing one, with my lunatic mw friend there picking adrian up off the floor!!!!

text soon!!xxxx

PolarMummy · 13/04/2007 15:53

Hi Hillbilly, sounds like you have had a really worrying time, I am glad that the second scan was more positive and I hope that the person doing your first scan just read the scan wrong. Will be thinking about you and hope that you get the confirmation that you need that everything is OK.

greedyforbabies · 13/04/2007 15:55

hillbilly - glad that everything seems a bit more positive for you now. what a tough few weeks you must have had.

buffy - apparently you cant hear babys hb with a stethoscope until 20 wks. i have one at work and keep trying, but am a bit paranoid that someone will walk in and catch me with a stethoscope down my trousers and wonder what i am doing!!!!

jersy - my bump is huge! i am 15 1/2 wks and i am now wearing maternity clothes all the time! my tunic that i wear to work is bursting at the seams and i wore it till about 8 months last time! AAAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!

kezza - hey neighbour! how you doing? what do you do in harlow for a job then? i am intrigued!

buffythenappyslayer21 · 13/04/2007 16:26

hi greedy, all dh could hear was popping noises,it wasnt teh heartbeat, thast a swooshing noise.i dont know what he heard,i had a listen and heard the popping, and it wasnt wind, but god knows what it was!!

nappyaddict · 13/04/2007 22:11

does anyone have hellomama's email address?

Verso · 15/04/2007 12:17

Hi guys.

Sad news for me too, I'm afraid. Went for the scan on Friday and they couldn't find a heartbeat. I saw it on screen and everything and knew before they told me. The baby died at eight weeks. I'm booked in for a d&c tomorrow, if they have space (apparently) so might still be a further wait.

Still in shock, to be honest, not least because I still feel pregnant as the placenta is still working. Anyway, I'm being hugely reassured by friends telling me of others who have been through this and then gone on to have further healthy pregnancies, although I do still dissolve into tears every now and again.

So - I'm afraid I'll be saying goodbye to you all for now.

buffythenappyslayer21 · 15/04/2007 13:56

verso so very sorry for your sad news.

take care of yourself and hope to see you on a due thread soonxxxx

ejt1764 · 15/04/2007 14:31

Verso, I'm so so sorry for your news. I had a mmc last year, and only found out at the scan - it's a cruel way to find out.

I really really hope that you heal well, and that you get a happy ending very soon.

love and hugs to you and yours.

Hope to hear you have good news soon {{hugs}}

missnatalie · 15/04/2007 19:28

Verso - I am so sorry to hear of your mmc. I found out last week that i also had a mmc. Baby stopped growing at 9w 2d. Had ERPC on friday. My symptoms are fast disapering (sp) all thats left is the swollen tum and veiny boobs.

Good luck for tomorrow and maybe we will meet again on the ttc board once you feel ready.

buffythenappyslayer21 · 16/04/2007 09:01

morning all.how is everyone today?

im sick of sneezing and having nose bleeds!!is it too early to have hayfever?

and i dont suppose there is anything you can take when preggers if it is hayfever!might ask mw when i see her in a couple of weeks.

by the way is anyone else having the blood test for downs?(sorry not sure what the test is called, but got a blood bag thing in my notes for when i go next)is it just the one that tells you what risk you are?(1 in whatever?)

oh well, better go and put some washing on whilst dd is watching fifi and teh flowertots!

have agood day evryone!

MrsFish · 16/04/2007 10:01

I had the blood test for Downs last week, should get the results back in a week or so

MrsFish · 16/04/2007 10:02

and yes, it is the one which tells you the odds.

KezzaG · 16/04/2007 10:25

verso, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is shocking how many people this happens to, but like you say, at least there are lots of stories of people going on to have healthy babies. Not a lot of consolation at the time though.

buffy I had nosebleeds with ds and have had them this time as well. Its horrible, I wake up in the morning with a nose full of snot and blood (apologies all way tmi) and then sniff and snort my way through the morning. Apparently I am snoring as well, god my poor dh, how unattractive.

Hillbilly, what a horrible worrying time. It sounds like all might be ok though so I have my fingers crossed for you.

morning greedy. Not sure how much to give away on here, but I work for a large telecommuications company in Harlow in HR, the one near Church Langley.

ejt1764 · 16/04/2007 10:40

hi buffy, I had mine last week too - had to take ds as he was on Easter hols ... he was an absolute superstar, as we sat in clinic for 2 hours(!!!!! ). I was mightily glad I'd taken snacks and drinks and a colouring book and something for him to play with with me ...

After they'd taken the blood (ds was fascinated by the whole process, and asked so many questions, I learned something too!), the phlebotomist let him ride up and down on the funky chair in the other room ... he thought Christmas had come!

A fairly quiet weekend for us: rugby match Saturday, dinner at my parents' house yesterday - it was my belated birthday dinner - I was feely so revolting for my birthday back in February, that mum decided to postpone the birthday dinner (so sweet, she does us all a birthday sunday dinner every year!) My sister has a new boyfriend, so she was showing off ... (she's 30, not 13, but some things never change) ... and I was exhausted when I got home ...

Am feeling a bit of a fraud today - my sick note runs out at the end of this week - I'm intending to go back to work next Monday, but I feel like I should be there now ...

Have a lovely Monday, everybody!
