Wow, this thread moves so fast!

Congratulations to all the new bfps.

And wow, thanks millsbynight for the list! So many Jan babies. And huge congratulations in your scan, that must have been so awesome.

Thanks also everyone for the congrats and good wishes after my infertility journey. I'm starting to calm down a little and trying not to analyse every single twinge!

Eva, thank you 😊 though I'd say that 14 months is a long wait too. At 14 months I was having tests at the fertility clinic and the drs kept going "you've only been trying 14 mths" and I'd be like Yes! It's ages!

ALH, thanks for the yoga tip, and you could be right that's there's more anxiety when you're older with your first, although most of my friends have just had their first around 35!

Good luck with your scan today hotpink

Yay, 6 weeks today!

I was wondering from which date you all calculate how far along you are. I calculate from last period, as that is something I know for sure. My cycles are a bit longer than 28 days, so I probably ovulate a bit later than after 14 days. But ovulation and conception aren't necessarily on the same day! No telling when the sperm actually reached the egg, could be one or two days after the egg has sprung.
Thank god for the dating scan! Wink

GruffaloSoldier · 17/05/2017 10:21

ALHCTPS I know right? We have enough to worry about! It's at its most dangerous for women who are in early pregnancy up to 20 weeks pregnant.

I've had it now so just need to wait. As predicted, blood test with nausea was not fun. I'm having a lie down now.

Hi to all the newcomers Smile

pebble82 · 17/05/2017 11:26

Those of you without children still in nappies count yourself lucky. The smell of poop at 7.30am made me wretch. I'm pretty sure it's frowned upon to vomit all over your precious first born!

JB1983 · 17/05/2017 11:39

gruffalo fx you have immunity to slapped cheek.

fattycow I'm working moments out from when I think I ovulated based on OPK and pains. I have irregular cycles so if I go with LMP it puts the due date a week before I think I'd actually be due. I suppose a scan will sort out the dates.

The stories on this thread of nausea and vomiting is not painting a nice picture of what is to come. I'm 5+5 today so bracing myself for what might come next week.

PolkaDotFlamingo · 17/05/2017 11:54

Pebble So glad mine is trained! Could not be dealing with them right now!

SummerHopin · 17/05/2017 11:57

Anyone else been through bouts of severe LACK of symptoms and wondering if it was all in their heads?! I'm a terrible googler and keep reading things about silent miscarriages and how symptoms just disappear. I never thought I would be sad not to have terrible nausea, but even my boobs have stopped hurting now.

Anyone else have this??

ALHCTPS · 17/05/2017 12:01

@summerhopin I know what you mean. When the symptoms ease up, it's such a blessed relief, but then you wonder if the whole pregnancy is in your head, as, lack of period aside, you feel exactly the same as before and it's too early for a bump. So weird.

ALHCTPS · 17/05/2017 12:10

When 'slapped cheek' was first mentioned, I thought you meant the children were running around hitting each other. I swear we didn't have this when I was small. Same with Hand, Foot and Mouth. Children are gross.

Neavesa · 17/05/2017 12:12

@summerhopin I feel exactly the same, up until 2 days ago I had nausea, fatigue and sore swollen boobs but they have all gone. I'm only 5+4.

JB1983 · 17/05/2017 12:16

summer I actually did a test again yesterday as I just don't feel pregnant other than slightly sore boobs, however it's probably just too early at 5+5 for the other symptoms to kick in.

millsbynight · 17/05/2017 12:32

For those of us on our 2nd, 3rd, nth pregnancies can you feel a lot more this time even though it's so early?

I love sleeping on my tummy but can really feel that it's hardened already (was sleeping on my tummy till 10/11 weeks with DS before I felt a 'lump' in my lower abdomen). I can also feel my uterus "stretching", does that make sense?

coragreta · 17/05/2017 12:59

Pebble - I'm sure that will be me soon! Urgh.
Mills- I can feel a stretch but I wonder if I'm imagining things.
It hardly feels real at all.

Kirsty157 · 17/05/2017 13:22

@Mills its been so long since my last pregnancy it all feels new to me tbh. I can feel stretching, especially in the evenings when I've got my feet up. I keep hoping to feel hardening but don't think there has been any yet. I'm desperate for a bump, as I'm so bloated I recon I look five months gone already!

FromHackneyWithLove · 17/05/2017 13:28

Wow this is a busy thread already! Hey everyone and congratulations all round, especially to those that have been trying for ages.

Just adding myself in... this will be my second, DD is about to turn 18 months. It took me almost 2 years to get pregnant with her, but this pregnancy was basically an accident! Hopefully soon I'll say happy accident but for now am pretty freaked out about how we will cope, as life is mental as it is with one, a dog and both of us in full-time London jobs. Am 4+5 today, lines getting pretty dark.

My EDD is 17 Jan but I gave birth at 35+6 last time, so am expecting a Dec baby! However I would rather stay in Jan group because my daughter has developed in line with her due date rather than birth age, so wouldn't want to feel like she was behind other kids her birth age if you know what I mean!

Fx for sticky beans all round Smile

SummerHopin · 17/05/2017 13:54

@JB1983 I did the same today! I know its silly because I've not had any major cramping or bleeding, and to be fair the HSG levels wouldnt drop to 0 straight away so even if I'm being really pessimistic a positive pregnancy test still doesnt give me loads of comfort. I am just counting the days until the 8 week scan so that I can hopefully get some real comfort from seeing a blob and hopefully hearing the heartbeat! :)

ALHCTPS · 17/05/2017 14:23

The current level of my conversations with my beloved. Doesn't bode well for the next 33 weeks. The romance is dead, I tell you, dead!

January 2018 babies!
Kirsty157 · 17/05/2017 14:24

Welcome and congrats to those with bfps :-)

Any news from the ladies having scans today?

SummerHopin · 17/05/2017 14:40

@ALHCTPS - LOL!
I also have been secretly undoing my trousers most days. I dont really have a bump as such but I feel bloated, and there is just something lovely about letting it all hang out (under a long top of course!)
I have always been able to conjure up a good "preggers belly" even before my BFP as I have a bit of a tum, so I can look as pregnant or as not pregnant as I want at the min :) hehe

rachaellhughes1987 · 17/05/2017 15:20

Hi everyone, this is my first time to this site. I am 4 weeks pregnant (well tomorrow I am) and we are really happy. Be great to meet people in same scenario. I saw my gyno Monday and she has giving me cyclogest 400mg as I previously had a chemical pregnancy and suffered previously from low HCG levels. Cant wait to have a scan at 8 weeks to detect a heart beat. In order for me to get Cyclogest they did an internal ultrasound and they detected a sac in my womb so I was very happy with that :)

JB1983 · 17/05/2017 16:22

Haha you messages made me giggle alhc
I'm also secretly unbuttoning jeans, hoping it's just bloat.

summer I'm also excited for our 8 week scan to see our little bean. Counting down the days two weeks on Friday

Welcome rachael hope the cyclogest works for you.

mrsb87 · 17/05/2017 16:24

mills yes! I'm a tummy sleeper and have been struggling for about 2/3 nights, I can definitely feel something going on!

tinywithtoes · 17/05/2017 17:02

coragreta · 17/05/2017 17:41
