ALH- I moved just before baby one! So stressful!
Moving before baby is best. Also helps not having kids when you apply for mortgage!

ALHCTPS · 16/05/2017 15:27

@coragreta - exactly! We're not telling the bank we're pregnant. They want to know your inner leg measurement as it is. I swore I wasn't going to be one of those women frantically trying to get stuff sorted before the due date, but best laid plans of mice and men...

rabbitstail · 16/05/2017 16:33

I moved on the day I gave birth to my last, she was a week early, probably due to moving stress!

Maybebaby2 · 16/05/2017 16:46

Glad I'm not the only one with baby brain! Slightly worrying that this is just the beginning.... by January I won't be able to remember my own name!

Just had embarrassing conversation in the local pharmacy! I asked for advice on what to take for constipation and bloating (I'm not going to try the things I panic bought in Holland and Barratt yesterday after further Internet reading) so the assistant got the pharmacist over and I repeated my question. He said he couldn't advise me because I'm pregnant and not under their care and told me to speak my midwife. When I said I was only 6 weeks and hadn't even met with midwife yet he was very surprised that I was already experiencing this problem and questioned me as in "really you're only 6 weeks and you're constipated?!" To which I replied yes I was both only 6 weeks and constipated. Even the assistant who was stood listening couldnt contain a smirk! He then advised me to see a gp. What a waste of time, now I'm going to have to book a gp appointment which isn't an emergency so it'll be in about 3 weeks! I just want to get some relief!! 😤

Have you tried prunes or prune juice maybebaby ?

millsbynight · 16/05/2017 17:21

Hi Ladies!!

Sorry I've been MIA. DS had a vomiting bug and been off school. As for me I've continued to have the most extreme nausea and been sick here and there. Awful awful awful!

Good news is we had a scan today and little bean has a nice strong heartbeat and measuring 3 days behind at 6+5 rather than 7+1 which is what I think I am.

Updated list here. Sorry if I missed anyone!

I've just had a really funny 10 minutes where I had period pain type feelings in my stomach, but really uncomfortable almost like I was really hungry too which made it really difficult to walk. I got really hot and bothered and was trying to leave work but couldn't get myself together to leave. Managed to jump in a taxi now rather than try and walk home as still have a very uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. I know some period pain type feelings are normal but this felt more than that. Hoping it's just a weird womb growing feeling Confused

Hotpinkangel19 · 16/05/2017 17:26

Oh no @jellypi3! Welcome to the new BFP's xxxx I have my rescan tomorrow and am really scared...... wish me luck! X

Maybebaby2 · 16/05/2017 17:33

Thanks waitingon I've not tried prunes yet but I will do, getting desperate! I just don't get why no one can advise me just because I'm pregnant. ok I get the health food shop yesterday as they are not experts... but a pharmacist? Surely they know what is or isn't safe!

rememberpurpleronnie · 16/05/2017 17:35

Sorry millsbynight- been meaning to update with my EDD- 8th Jan!

Kilicat · 16/05/2017 17:41

Maybebaby2 that made me giggle a bit. But, I used fibrogel last time which I think is just bought over the counter - I actually sent DH out in an 'emergency' when I was pregnant with DS. I was considering stocking up again as things have definitely slowed down but not quite at a standstill yet!! Got some dried apricots coming in Tesco shop this evening. They usually do the trick.

LadyM0ndegreen · 16/05/2017 17:42

I've been the opposite of constipated. I picked up campylobacter food poisoning and was incredibly ill for a week. Nothing stayed in and I really had to force myself to stay hydrated. Hopefully the baby is okay, I went to the GP twice to make sure the bacteria wasn't going to harm it.

Not a great way to start pregnancy! But on the mend now.

mrsb87 · 16/05/2017 18:28

millsbynight my edd is 13th Jan! Today has been mainly providing cuddles to my poorly 2yr old who has a sickness bug! On call for cuddles as needed, lots were needed today! It does mean that nothing has been done for about 2 days...oh well

Maybebaby2 · 16/05/2017 18:37

kilicat it was quite funny, all I kept thinking was how many times am I going to have to repeat that I'm constipated! Thankfully the shop was empty so I didn't have an audience, except the smirking smiling assistant! Thanks for the recommendation of Fibrogel, I'll get some tomorrow and I'll make a point of going back to the same pharmacy! 😂

Oh no ladym0 that sounds awful, hope you're feeling much better. Good that you kept hydrated. What food did you pick it up from?

coragreta · 16/05/2017 19:19

Wow mills. Thanks for going through everyone! So many babies!

Eva30 · 16/05/2017 20:50

ALH haha true about the leg measurement, made me laugh! Yeah definitely better idea to move before - what a nightmare with the other two falling through.
maybebaby thats really rude of them, you should make a complaint.
Thanks for the list mills - wow there's quite a few of us!! Great news about the scan too
hot pink good luck!

ElsaMars · 16/05/2017 21:42

Great baby brain example for you. Last Sunday (before I knew I was pg) I made a roast dinner. As I've been doing low carb, I made a cauliflower cheese for me to have with it.
Ate the roast, bit dull. Woke up with a start 5am the following morning realising the cooked cauli cheese was still sitting in the oven. Threw it in the bin whilst heaving - I should have known Grin

WLMcI · 16/05/2017 22:42

Hotpink good luck for tomorrow, mine is tomorrow too. Hope we can both bring back good news!

maybebaby I've been hiding prunes (the fresh pitted ones in the tins) in my morning smoothies. I think it's helping, along with all the other massive amounts of fruit I'm craving! Today I ate the 500 ml fruit smoothie, an entire punnet of strawberries, and an apple all by 12:30 (plus a small bowl of porridge with blueberries and a bit of veggie lasagne for lunch). I'm absolutely ravenous (it keeps the nausea at bay), but at least it's all cravings for healthy food! I couldn't face cheese or chocolate or anything with too strong a flavour right now, as the morning sickness has ramped up these last few days (although not nearly as bad as it could be, please God!)

millsbynight · 17/05/2017 06:47

Mrsb definitely something going around! 3 other kids in DS class had vomiting bug too.

I can't remember who was talking about bras and boobs up thread (I think ALHCPS?) but I got my maternity and nursing bras from Mothercare. I'm usually a 30DD and went up to 30E in my second trimester and then by then end of third trimester I went up another cup size and also up a band size! Couldn't believe it!!!! My boobs were gigantic!

PolkaDotFlamingo · 17/05/2017 07:51

I stayed 30FF the whole time and I'm hoping the same happens again so I don't have to spend on bras!

GruffaloSoldier · 17/05/2017 09:10

Hello everyone!

I haven't posted for a while, it's hard to keep up!

I found out yesterday that in my eldest DS class there has been an outbreak of slapped cheek so I'm off to the hospital today for a blood test to check my immunity. Feeling so sick though, it's definitely something I could do without! Fingers crossed that I have immunity!

Anyone have any experience of slapped cheek exposure? I'm feeling quite worried about it!

I'm going to catch up with thread now. Sorry probably should have done that first Blush

ALHCTPS · 17/05/2017 09:42

What the hell is slapped cheek???

mrsb87 · 17/05/2017 09:43

mills vom is not what I need right now! It's not helping my crazy nausea.

mrsb87 · 17/05/2017 09:47

ALHC it's a common virus in children, they get very rosy cheeks and cold symptoms! It's normally pretty harmless but can be an issue if you're exposed while pregnant. My nephew had it when my SIL was heavily pregnant, she was fine, but was monitored just in case. My brother was going through chemo at the time and he managed to avoid it to, which was a small miracle as had zero immunity to anything!

ALHCTPS · 17/05/2017 09:58

Small children are like Typhoid Mary. I'm learning so much from this thread...
