I'm British, we had the same advert here in the U.K.! I randomly get the song in my head from time to time when planning meals even though it hasn't been on TV for about 20 years! Must have been hungry when I decided on a mn username Smile

I'm also planning for a private scan at about 8w mills and megs.

Pebble welcome to the group, we have the same EDD.

DD had a lovely 2nd birthday thank you megs! It's a lovely age. If this pg works out the age gap will be 2.9 which I think will be nice.

I'm on my way to a hen do now using the driving excuse - even though it is in central London and I've already pre paid for booze - friends will see through it a mile off (I'm never normally one to turn down a glass or three!) but I hope nobody says anything as it's far too early for me to feel comfortable telling anyone, even close friends. By chance I have a hen, a 30th birthday party, 2 weddings and a holiday all scheduled for the next 3 months, my social life is never normally this active! Sod's law!

millsbynight · 29/04/2017 17:14

Yes ladymo 😂 that ad!

Wow chickentonight so hectic! I'm bloody boring and no big events coming up so can play it safe for the next few weeks although I'm v open with my friends and most of them know I'm pregnant already anyway. Saves me having to think of a million excuses why I'm not drinking or eating brie. I had an mmc and really needed their support and friendship so if it happens to me again I'll end up telling everyone I was pregnant and explain that I had an mc. All seems like a faff. But I know I'm in a minority.

All this talk of chicken tonight and I'm hungry now. Going to convince DH to take me to Nando's now!

MegsMog · 29/04/2017 21:45

ifeel agreed - 2yrs 9mo would be a lovely age gap I think! I'm keeping everything crossed for both of us.

Mumoftheark · 29/04/2017 22:53

Hiya,

I'm on the December thread too, by LMP my EDD is December 28th so may have a Jan baby.
This is baby number 3 for me.
I have a DS who is 5 and was born at 35 weeks. A DD who is 2 1/2 who was born at home at 40+3 weeks.
Will more than likely go for another home birth for this one.

Haven't really got many symptoms yet. Boobs are pretty massive - only noticed that today - proper porn star boobs lol. Not sore though. Tieredness has kicked in the last few days but so far no sickness.

I'm having an early scan next week (just booked via groupon if anyone wants one there's 2 offers running one in Kingsbury the other Hatfield Hertfordshire). My DD was a twin and we lost one. I've put on a considerable amount of weight already 😬 & know there's a higher chance of conceiving twins if you have previously so want to check if I am carrying one or two again this time.

MegsMog · 30/04/2017 08:19

Ergh I know it's too early to panic yet but I'm feeling a bit nervous about this pregnancy not sticking around.

Last month my tests never became dark, then got lighter and then we're negative at 5+2 (then I went to hospital for blood test and they confirmed early MC).

I'm obviously now testing every morning - which I know is madness - I guess I'm just desperate to see the lines get darker. Definitely not getting hopes up just yet.

I'm 4+1 today.

MegsMog · 30/04/2017 08:20

Were negative - stupid phone!

ifeellikechickentonight · 30/04/2017 08:36

Well those look like they're getting stronger meg, I'm doing the same but testing every 3 days (cheaper!).

I can see myself continuing to test regularly until a scan at 8w. I've lost previous pregnancies at 5+3 and 4+3 so not taking anything for granted.

Emma2803 · 30/04/2017 08:48

Meg I also think they are getting darker and think it's understandable that you want to check lines are getting darker given that you have had a previous mc. Fingers crossed this little bean is sticky for you!

If it makes you feel any better I am 4+5 and also did another test today to check lines getting darker! I did one on Monday afternoon (not frer, used them all up so using cheaper ones!) and line was very faint then tue morning smu as was going to gp and wanted to check that I wasn't mad and was actually pregnant! Was a good bit darker and today's smu and was darker again. I am also thinking of buying some more cheap ones or a clear blue digital.

chicken hopefully your wee bean will be sticky too!!

millsbynight · 30/04/2017 09:15

Yup girls, crazy testing lady here too! Megs I'd recommend getting a Clearblue digital weeks' one. I knew there was something wrong with my mmc when it was stuck on "1-2 weeks" and only one time got to "2-3 weeks" when I was about 6 weeks pg (should have read 3+). I had an early scan and it confirmed baby stopped growing weeks and weeks ago with no heartbeat. At least I had managed my expectations.

Got my Nando's last night! YAASS! Ate all of my spicy rice & butterfly chicken including some DS' food and some of DHs Blush #fatandhungrymum

Lenska999 · 30/04/2017 09:16

Can I join too? I'm 4+2 with my 2nd, EDD 5th Jan. So excited!! Got a DS who will be almost 4 when the baby arrives. Congratulations everyone!

ifeellikechickentonight · 30/04/2017 09:19

Was that the Nando's inspired by my username mills Grin I quite fancy some Nando's myself now!

ifeellikechickentonight · 30/04/2017 09:30

Welcome lenska

Lenska999 · 30/04/2017 09:55

Thanks Chicken! Continuing the chicken theme I'm planning on a mega roast chicken dinner tonight 🍗

SJ1989 · 30/04/2017 09:59

Hi Ladies,

I got a Bfp on Friday and again on Sat, worked out End would be 2nd Jan! This is my first and I have uterine didelphys (2 uterus) so very eager to get a doctors appointment and talk it through! Has anyone else in this thread got it? I've been told it's pretty rare

Thanks

ifeellikechickentonight · 30/04/2017 14:16

Welcome SJ! I haven't heard of that but my friend has a septate (not sure of spelling) uterus where it is nearly divided in 2- heart shaped, is it similar to that? She had a baby boy last year slightly prem at 34 weeks but good size and perfectly healthy

SJ1989 · 30/04/2017 15:55

Hi, thanks for replying! It is similar yeah it's just a different type where it's completely separated, more sever but I think actually safer during pregnancy. Looks like I may have to be patient and wait to speak to the docs on Tuesday lol

pebble82 · 30/04/2017 20:51

I'll be having an elective section this time I think so although my EDD is 7th Jan I will probably be a Dec birther (is that a word??) hope you don't mind me staying here though and getting to know you all. I'm still friends with my Oct 14 lot and love mumsnet for that ☺

Lenska999 · 30/04/2017 22:28

Hi Pebble,

I'm considering asking for an elective section this time round after a very traumatic birth first time round. I've no idea how to go about it though, do I bring it up at my booking in appt? I'm worried I'll be forced down the 'natural' route and want to feel prepared.

GiraffesCantDoMentalArithmetic · 30/04/2017 22:30

Hi,
Got my BFP after a squinter yesterday. EDD 9th Jan, but another elective CS here most likely pebble so I was thinking maybe the gap between Christmas and New Year???

We've been trying for 18 months with a couple of early mcs so nervous times ahead!

This will be dc3 - I have dd10 and dd6.

HariboFrenzy · 30/04/2017 22:32

pebble I will also be having an elcs and have a due date of 6th January so in the same boat. I didn't want to join the December thread as many of them are way ahead!

pebble82 · 30/04/2017 22:46

Lenska I'm not sure how it works. I know they'll probably push for a natural as I had a labour debrief after DD and was pretty much told that. Just stick to your guns. Did you end up with emcs last time? I did so I think because I've had one before it'll be easier for me to demand a section. Not really sure though.

We almost lost DD in her first week due to birth complications. Was horrendous but don't want to freak any first timers out. It was a one in a thousand chance. But my problem is I don't think I'll be in the right frame of mind mentally to labour well naturally.

Lenska999 · 30/04/2017 23:00

No not an emcs, was induced after waters broke but no labour. All fine till I had a badly sited epidural (anaesthetist tried and failed to put it in 4 times, then had to get someone else to do it) and then the epidural failed. DS wasn't descending the birth canal and was distressed. There was talk of emcs but I feel they left it too long and he was eventually wrenched out with forceps. The room was full of people, it was terrifying and poor DS screamed the place down for about 12 hours because of what I assumed to be a right bad headache.

I found the whole experience very traumatic and would at least like to have the option of an elective this time.

Mumoftheark · 01/05/2017 07:07

5+4 and am finally starting to get some symptoms. Been a bit concerned I imagined my 3 positives 🙈. Was up 4 times needing a wee last night - and my daughter was up 5 times being sick so waking up nice and rested today 😩

Lenska999 · 01/05/2017 07:43

Oh no Mum! Hope you are able to get some rest today at some point and that your DD is feeling better.

It's a weird time at this early stage, I'm testing every few days to re-confirm!!

WLMcI · 01/05/2017 07:59

Mumoftheark I'm so glad you said that; I'm also 5+4 today and still not really able to believe the whole "pregnant" thing as I have so few symptoms! I can't bring myself to test again as I'm terrified at seeing a faint line, so I'm just waiting to see what happens. I do have sort of indigestion feelings in the tummy every day and bloating (no nausea, but I didn't have it last time), and these last few days my teeth have bled when I brushed them. But no sign of the massive boob growth or the stretching feelings in the tummy that I'm sure I had by this stage last time. Maybe as it's so soon after MC, the ligaments or whatever don't need to be stretched again, and I know every pregnancy is different and I'm no more likely to have a MC just because I've had one before; but still, it's nerve-wracking trying to keep the faith with so few signs. The one saving grace is that I have no spotting whatsoever, thank goodness! And thank goodness for MN and all of the people on the boards! X
