Hi bluespotty congrats! I get HG too so I feel your pain!!

flossyfloss · 10/05/2017 21:24

I've had an aching, niggling, pain in my left side lower back for a week or so, I have managed to convince myself it might be ectopic Sad in only 4+3 days. I am seeing gp tomorrow to discuss, can anyone reassure me or tell me what he might say/do about it?

Maybebaby2 · 10/05/2017 21:29

Hi bluee great to see you here and congratulations! Grin

mrsb87 · 10/05/2017 22:12

Yay! Congrats bluee!! I'm right there with you for the HG and PE fear.

Bethany891 · 10/05/2017 23:16

Hi girls congratulations on your pregnancys im 6 week and 5 days just found out on an early scan we're having twinnies has anyone else found out they're carrying more than one??

StylishDuck · 11/05/2017 05:41

I've been up all night with the most irritating cough/sore throats. Utterly exhausted from lack of sleep due to coughing constantly Sad

Anyone have any advice on anything I can take for it that's safe? I had some lemon & ginger tea with honey last night but it didn't really help much. I caved at 3am and took paracetamol (even though I know it's ok to take I still don't like to).

flossyfloss · 11/05/2017 05:43

Oh stylish that doesn't sound fun, can you take some cough syrup? Xx

StylishDuck · 11/05/2017 05:51

I don't think so Sad Most of them say not to take them during pregnancy.

SandyAmazon · 11/05/2017 06:07

@bethany891 congrats on the twins discovery!

@stylishduck ginger can irritate a sore throat. Could you try lemon & honey instead ?

Fattycowagain · 11/05/2017 06:08

StylishDuck, have you tried proper liquorice? Sucking on those helps a lot with sore throats, especially the kind with honey.

StylishDuck · 11/05/2017 06:32

Sandy I thought ginger was meant to have anti-bac properties? I'll try just lemon & honey though, thanks.

Fatty unfortunately I can't stand liquorice, I don't think I could stomach it given the general pregnancy queasiness I'm feeling these days!

Waitingonasmile · 11/05/2017 06:41

Wow bethany twins Shock. Congratulations. Do twins run in the family?

SandyAmazon · 11/05/2017 06:53

@stylishduck not sure about the anti-bac properties of ginger, you may well be right, but it is one of those firey foods that could irritate a sore throat. I'd normally opt for honey as the glucose has a soothing effect. The boost of energy probably helps temporarily too.

Fattycowagain · 11/05/2017 06:57

Oh wow, twins! Congratulations bethany!

Bethany891 · 11/05/2017 07:01

No I'm the first which is pretty scary we've recently moved house and bought new car and with us having two children already we now have to extend / move and buy a bus haha

Bethany891 · 11/05/2017 07:02

Thank you @fattycowagain

StylishDuck · 11/05/2017 07:03

Bethany congratulations! Sorry to drag down your exciting news with my self pity! Grin Twins run in both mine and DHs family, I think everyone's half expecting it with us too.

Fattycowagain · 11/05/2017 07:05

I have a dentist appointment this afternoon and suspect he'll want to take pictures. I'm going to sneakily refuse! My mum is coming as well, to keep an eye on my eldest. DD is nearly 2 and will have her first check up. When the dentist sets up things for the X-ray, he always makes everyone but the patient leave the room. Once mum and DD are out, I'm going to pull out a note which says: 'no X-ray please! Just pretend. I'm 5 weeks pregnant, but it is still a secret'. He will understand and play along. Smile

BlueeSpottyTiger · 11/05/2017 07:08

That's great news bethany Grin

My frer is lighter today with fmu then yesterday evening.. not a good sign huh!
Does this mean i might have a cp?

Bethany891 · 11/05/2017 07:12

Oooo @StylishDuck can you not request an early scan so you can find out early or are you happy to wait for your 12 week? I sound awful but I hope you are so we can share tips 🙈🙈 😂 I have no idea what to expect !!

WLMcI · 11/05/2017 07:16

Stylishduck for a really sore throat, a gargle with salt water is the best thing I've ever found. Not sure if it would help a cough though!

bethany congratulations on the twins! I'll have a scan at 8 weeks, so we'll find out then if everything is well and how many! (I'm 7 weeks today). It's sod's law in action with the house and car isn't it! FWIW, my mom said the biggest adjustment was going from 2 kids to 3suddenly you don't have enough handsand 3 to 4 was not a big change. So you'd be dealing with that anyway with your 3rd and now you get a 4th into the bargain! Grin I hope everything progresses smoothly.

Thingymaboob · 11/05/2017 07:25

Hi blueespttytiger. The exact same thing happened to me. I had a line on a frer then it got lighter the next day. I was so worried. I was in tears, convinced it was a chemical. My DH and two very good friends told me to stop testing and get a grip so I waited 4 days, then tested again and it came up straight away and was a lot stronger. Stop testing! Test again in a few days.

mrsb87 · 11/05/2017 07:39

5+2 and the vomiting begins. Must have been about this last time as I remember having an early scan about 6 weeks because of some concerns. Ugh

purplechoc · 11/05/2017 07:45

Congratulations on the twins @Bethany891!

@mrsb87 that's unfortunately early to begin with morning sickness!

I've started to worry yesterday and today as I'm having my wedding day when I'll be 7+3. I'm a bit worried that I'm going to feel absolutely dreadful all day and have to pretend, or be sick during the ceremony or something! I don't mind feeling a bit nauseous as long as I can get through. Anyone who's already got any DC able to shed any light on how realistic that is?!

ImBreakingBad · 11/05/2017 07:57

Congrats on the twins bethany that's amazing news!!

Sorry to hear about the sickness! It seems to be sweeping through us. I've started crying at almost anything. DH for buying me a magazine, the news, a cat on TV! It's fabulous.

Thanks for the well wishes for bloods, I'm scared!
