Yep I've got achy hips, top of legs, inside of thigh and groin area. Ive no idea if this is normal?

ImBreakingBad · 09/05/2017 17:49

Maybe - you've got it down to a T! It's so frightening isn't it.

Mrs - can you have a relaxing evening tonight? Im intending on not doing very much when I'm home. Pizza sounds fabulous!

Maybebaby2 · 09/05/2017 17:55

Yeah its a bit worrying because I dont know if its normal or not! I've got an appointment with gp this evening but don't know whether to mention it or not?

usedtorun · 09/05/2017 18:06

Hotpink, pebble has it right and judging by this thread, cramping is incredibly common so try not to worry just yet (easier said than done we all know).

Certainly didn't wish my previous post about ectopic to add to your anxiety, I posted more to highlight that my experience wasn't text book and therefore your symptoms may be completely innocuous.

Hotpinkangel19 · 09/05/2017 18:45

Thank you @usedtorun I know, don't worry. Easy to say though isn't it x

Waitingonasmile · 09/05/2017 19:02

I can vouch that very painful cramping can turn out absolutely fine. I had awful pain with my first and it would wake me up in the night and I would have to get up and walk about. I also had one sided pains and a general dull ache all day. I panicked loads but it was completely normal for me and not a sign of anything untoward. Obviously im not saying that's always the case and keep an eye on it, but it can just be part of early pregnancy.

Sophsta · 09/05/2017 19:36

I'm booked in to have my highlights done on Friday. Now the NHS website doesn't seem to think it should be a problem. What do people think?

pebble82 · 09/05/2017 19:42

Sophsta you'll be fine. The dye is unlikely to touch your scalp with highlights and even if it did the chances of loads of dangerous chemicals absorbing into you is low. I got my hair highlighted and coloured all through pregnancy last time. Your choice though. Depends if the worry outweighs the positives. Everyone's different.

mrsb87 · 09/05/2017 19:43

Sophsta no problem having highlights, it's probably too early to wordy this week, but later on the colour can (not always) change the way it reacts to the hair and may not lift as well or you may get some brassy tones which can be toned out. If you're having colour on the scalp, it's advisable to have regular skin patch tests just in case your body decides it doesn't like it anymore!

SandyAmazon · 09/05/2017 19:44

@Waitingonasmile you've reassured me somewhat, thank you. I'm getting a constant bloated feeling with a dull ache and occasional side pain. It's not at all severe so wasn't fretting about it just yet, but I was wondering now and again if I should be concerned.

This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what's normal or what to expect. It's nice to get some insight from those of you in the know!

mrsb87 · 09/05/2017 19:45

Imbreaking yes, dogs are walked, small is in bed and I'm going to enjoy a nice cup of tea! Dh is at a church meeting tonight so just me and the doggies!

Sophsta · 09/05/2017 20:02

Thanks ladies. I thought so and my God does my hair need it!

pebble82 · 09/05/2017 20:11

I have that shattered feeling too. Dozed off on the sofa for approximately 30seconds earlier before my toddler woke me by throwing a duplo brick at me. Tried ringing the midwives today to arrange a booking in appointment but got the answerphone. This happened last time and they never replied. It took two weeks to get to speak to someone! At least this time there's an email address so I've contacted them on that. Their hours are 7-4 and are always out to lunch when I'm on my lunch (free from prying ears at work!).

ElleMcElle · 09/05/2017 20:16

I have NEVER peed so much in my entire life! It's every 45 mins and I'm only 4+6... In fairness, I have significantly upped my water consumption from almost zero to an attempt at 8 glasses per day. Almost never had to get up to pee in the night before, but now it's every night without fail.

ElleMcElle · 09/05/2017 20:19

PS - Thanks for the list @millsbynight

WLMcI · 09/05/2017 21:44

Welcome all newbies! There's been a lot of activity on this thread today!
Sophsta you can always ask if they have no ammonia or low ammonia dyes, and/or to be well ventilated. The risk apparently comes more from breathing in lots of chemicals than from them being absorbed into the scalp. That said, my mother (and lots of other people) worked as a hairdresser throughout her pregnancy with me in the 80s, breathing in lots of noxious perm fumes, and I turned out fine (if I do say so myself lol!)

Big day at work today, and I'm shattered too! This wee bugger is making me suffer more than the last Grin Not really any nausea today though, just dizziness and exhaustion. I also have had some lower side/hip muscular-feeling pain (although with the lovely constipation/trapped wind I've been having it's sometimes hard to tell what's what lol).

Fattycowagain · 09/05/2017 22:29

I bought some ginger pills, which are supposed to help with the nausea. I shall report back!

My DH thinks I'm silly for having taken 4 tests over the last 5 days. I told him he is male and therefor silly himself.

Kittykat89 · 09/05/2017 22:37

Hi ladies! 3 positive tests today, think I'm due about the 19th January! So excited/scared/overjoyed/overwhelmed! I too am slightly bloated crampy and uncomfortable already. What is the next step, contact docs? Wait for a week and monitor with tests every couple of days or book an appointment straight away?

purplechoc · 09/05/2017 22:39

Welcome @Kittykat89! I think it's different in every area so best to ring up doctors and ask for midwife information. I've been told to ring midwives at 6 weeks to make the booking in appointment but was also given some initial information about vitamins, exercise etc

Thingymaboob · 09/05/2017 22:55

Hi guys,
How's everyone doing? I'm 5 weeks now. I got to 6 weeks last time (?ectopic / pregnancy of unknown location). I'm going completely mental. Keep thinking I've got toxoplasmosis / generally some horrible illness that affects pregnancy. How can I stop myself from freaking out? Also getting the occasional back twinge which makes me think ectopic! Argh. Driving my DH mental.

SandyAmazon · 10/05/2017 06:05

Morning everyone! Hope you are all feeling well today. Anyone else find they're sleep is disturbed? I'm up before 6am this morning. That NEVER happens naturally, normally can't get up with my alarm at 6:30!!!!

Just reading some posts from last night. My gp appointment is in 2 weeks, I'll be almost 7 wks by then. Should I be pushing for an earlier one? I had to call from work so didn't mention the 'P' word at the time of booking.

SandyAmazon · 10/05/2017 06:11

Hi @thingamaboob. Sorry to hear of your previous eptopic. It must have been awful. Might it be worth consulting a GP about your concerns. It's hardly surprising you'd feel particularly worried about those symptoms. Maybe they could help to put your mind at ease?

ifeellikechickentonight · 10/05/2017 07:05

Haven't been on here for a couple of days but wow, great to see so many new people.

Mills thanks for the list!

Fattycow I'll PM you about the fb group, just promise to keep it quiet if by amazing coincidence we know each other IRL Grin

ifeellikechickentonight · 10/05/2017 07:06

So I'm still addicted to POAS, should be 5+3 today but still getting 2-3 on cb digi. And no symptoms yet. I know I shouldn't worry, I think my morning sickness didn't start til 6/7w last time, but I'm freaking out a bit Confused

Maybebaby2 · 10/05/2017 07:07

Morning everyone and congratulations to new faces! Grin

sandy yep my sleep has been completely disturbed I've not had more than 4 hours for a week now! Hoping it's a temporary situation before it drives me insane! Funny enough throughout the day I still feel quite energised, just at night its awful!
I wouldn't worry about getting an earlier GP appointment unless you have a real concern, mine last night lasted about 5 mins and all he did was send my referral over to antenatal team. So now I just wait for them to get back to me with appointment which I think will be around 12-14 weeks. So I've now got a bit of a wait ahead since I'm only 4+4!
