Congrats hotpink! Sorry about the cider though :-(
Agree with the others killi, your boss ought to keep this under wraps, it's part of their job.

flossyfloss · 07/05/2017 21:57

Hello

I'm new - due 14th jan! Only 4 weeks today so early days!

Looking forward to symptoms starting but not sickness!

X

ifeellikechickentonight · 07/05/2017 22:03

I'm with the others killi I'd tell the head and make it crystal clear this is confidential medical information! Others might guess but hopefully keep their speculation to themselves!

That's exciting about mw appt fattycow! Not long to go!

Hi flossy welcome along! And mrsb, congrats on your BFPs!

Can't wait for my 3+ test hotpink, I'll stop testing when I get one. Got 2-3 today so hopefully in a few days.

dangle90 · 07/05/2017 22:05

Hey everyone!
Another newbie here, will be 5 weeks tomorrow, with first child :) due jan 8th x

ifeellikechickentonight · 07/05/2017 22:05

Well I spilled the beans tonight at my friend's birthday party! I casually mentioned I was driving when people were ordering wine, but then I caught her eye and couldn't help but make a face, I'm not very good at hiding my emotions! She could tell straight away! Took her aside later and told her, she's the only one who knows of the group and she was so fab when I had my mc last year I don't mind her knowing early. Anyone else told yet?

GruffaloSoldier · 07/05/2017 22:20

Hi ifeellikechickentonight

I have told my two sisters and my good friend who is also my neighbour. We are going to have to tell other family members in a few weeks when I'll be 9 weeks as its my sister in law (to be) hen night, so I'll have to warn her!

So, I'm just over 5 weeks and getting waves of nausea throughout the day and also insomnia. I'm exhausted! I was up at 6am this morning as we had my 6 year olds birthday party with 20 kids. It was before I was pregnant that we decided to do it ourselves so it seemed like a good idea back then. It was a success luckily and the nausea was under control. I did go to bed when I got home though!

Hope everyone else has had a lovely weekend. Smile

ALHCTPS · 07/05/2017 22:31

I've had to tell several people - all strong women who are also mothers - as I've been such a mess I've needed all the support I can get. And if I miscarry, I'll need them more than ever. I'm going insane with all the weeping, fatigue, clumsiness and stupidity.

ALHCTPS · 07/05/2017 22:34

How DO people keep it a secret when it's like the worst PMT ever x10? And, touch wood, I'm not nauseous. That said, I don't want work to know, as it's none of their business, which is all the more reason to brief one or two close friends in the office so they can help me watch my back.

ChocolateMuffin595 · 08/05/2017 00:40

Hello everyone
I'm also a newbie
Due 10-11th January 2018 🎉😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
Second pregnancy, had DS 10 months ago via emergency C-section. Hopefully natural birth this time round.
Has anyone else had a C-section?

mrsb87 · 08/05/2017 06:28

ifeel yes, told a couple of very close people, I had awful hyperemesis last time so we may need support as a family if it happens again, not looking forward to that bit.
Yes I had a emcs, will go planned this time though!

Fattycowagain · 08/05/2017 06:34

I have rood my mate at work. She is pregnant as well, due two months before me. She felt really horrible when she found out she is pregnant, because of my miscarriage and being very considerate of my feelings. I couldn't just not tell her!
We are going to a baby event together this Saturday. She will me my excuse for being there. Wink And it will be nice to have someone at work knowing. Our boss will have a bit of a problem once he finds out. My contract ends in July, but I was supposed to cover my friend's maternity leave (October-January). But I will go on leave 5 weeks before she is due to return! Ah well, that is his problem!

Fattycowagain · 08/05/2017 06:34

*told, not rood!

Mummyme87 · 08/05/2017 06:36

chocolate I had a CS at 9cm last time and planning a VBAC this time 😊 DS was very unwell with meningitis last time so lots of decisions need to be made regarding plans for birth this time but definitely no plans for an ELCS. Any Q feel free to ask as I'm a midwife as well 😊

usedtorun · 08/05/2017 06:36

I also had an emergency c section last time, will probably go for planned this time

Waitingonasmile · 08/05/2017 06:40

Hello chocolatemuffin and danglecongratulations!
I also had a c section, but almost 2 years ago.

dangle90 · 08/05/2017 07:00

Thanks waitingonasmile :) congrats to you too

flossyfloss · 08/05/2017 07:08

Fattycow I also have a scan on 23rd may - ill be 6+3 so might not even see a heartbeat at that stage so might have to go back, I'm counting down too! 15 sleeps!

Fattycowagain · 08/05/2017 07:16

Flossy, there is a good chance they'll be able to find a heartbeat by then! But you are right, sometimes they don't and you have to go back a week later to see it.

This pregnancy feels so different compared to the last. I am just all happy, when last time it felt off right from the start. Last time I cried when I found out (from shock, not happy tears), I didn't take any pictures of my stomach (as I did with my first), considered the NIPT (didn't consider it at all with the first) and was just worried a lot.
This time I was just filled with happiness when I found out, I have taken a stomach picture, I don't want the NIPT, and I'm already thinking of how to decorate the nursery! It just feels right and I'm a lot less anxious! Smile

WLMcI · 08/05/2017 07:19

Lying in bed nibbling on my biscuits and trying to be grateful for symptoms lol! I didn't have any morning sickness last time, nor did I have the constipation and extreme bloating that I have these days. Not sure how long I can hide it from the in-laws as I look about 5 months pg sometimes (but my work uniform is pretty forgiving so I don't think people there will notice). Grin
ifeel I have told my mother and a close friend who visited and was grilling me about what the doctor said about next steps after my MC (which was recent), and I just eventually ended up telling her I was already pregnant again! I won't tell anyone else until after the 8 week scan. I will tell them whether there is good news or bad, but I think they'll be able to handle it better if they haven't already got their hopes up, or they'll be as happy as we are if we can go to them having heard a heartbeat!

ChocolateMuffin595 · 08/05/2017 07:31

@mummyme Congratulations! I would also love a VBAC. With my DS I was 41 weeks and couldn't feel him move anymore. When I was out on the monitor they found his heart rate to be 50bpm so I had a C-Section straight away. I didn't even feel any labor pains and I remember feeling so cheated. But my boy was delivered safely and I am so grateful for that.
I would love a VBAC so I can go though labour and see what it is like. Smile

WLMcI · 08/05/2017 07:52

Oh and someone was asking about yoga earlier: I haven't heard anything negative about doing yoga during pregnancy, as long as you practice the same moderation you would with any exercise and you protect your ligaments, which become softer in pg. There is a series of specific pregnancy yoga videos on youtube by a lady with username Tonic, which can provide quite a full practice.

ImBreakingBad · 08/05/2017 08:01

Hey everyone. I'm officially feeling utterly crap and haven't felt more greatful!

I can't get it out of my head that something is going to go wrong. I'm not an anxious person at all (usually), but I can't describe how fearful I am Sad

mrsb87 · 08/05/2017 08:17

So excited to see you here Imbreaking!! Xx

ImBreakingBad · 08/05/2017 08:23

I know Grin. I hope to god I remain here until January and have this baby.

How are you feeling mrsb? Xx

mrsb87 · 08/05/2017 08:30
