@BouncingBlueberry - will coco-pops be ok for now? I haven't any cake in! Grin I'll think of you later when I inevitably start eating one of my Easter eggs I hadn't got around to!
*
Vicki -* those bits are lovely!
Zoo- He's gorgeous. So peaceful. Congratulations. x
Yellow - Congratulations to you too!! Gosh we are flying through these births already!! I can't believe how many we've had already!

Jenny & Bean - hugs. x

jennymac31 · 26/04/2017 08:27

Rustler74 - we managed to talk things over this morning and I think we're OK now.

Turn 37 weeks tomorrow so I know there isn't much time left before baby boy arrives so am hoping both dh and I can keep our stress levels down and push on through.

Tickyboovicki · 26/04/2017 08:27

@ClaireSunflower I would love to be able to knit! Might have to try and teach myself at some point I think

BouncingBlueberry · 26/04/2017 08:38

@WishIWasSleeping Mmm Coco Pops. My blood sugars are going to be awful for a like a week after I give birth. The smell of nice things which was satisfying me isnt cutting it no more. I've been good and saved my Easter treats though so when I'm up at night feeding I can enjoy them then.

1004Rise · 26/04/2017 08:41

@crazyzooo congratulations he's lovely!! 💙💙

@yellowismyfavourite congratulations to you too! 💙💙

This is a well named lucky thread, will we have a girl before this thread runs out?!?

@beanturnipandspud Sending you lots of hugs, I'm so glad you got to see your grandad and that he felt spud move. 💐

@Autumnsweater hope your mum calms down a bit today, it's hard enough to deal with your own worries without someone else adding theirs... is there something you can do together to distract her a bit? Unless you tell her if he baby doesn't latch on properly you may have to adopt the mummy sheep approach 🤔 she may think you've finally lost it and forget about labour completely 😉

@Tickyboovicki I'm very impressed with the craftiness well done! 👏

@jennymac31 hope you can sort things out with DH before Friday, you need each other just now 💐

@teainbed you're doing amazingly well, you always manage to sound so calm even when you've been up most of the night!

Hope everyone has a good day, I'm on the verge of counting hours til I finish work on Friday. Thing is because my work is project based I've just been left with less and less to do as they've finished or I've handed stuff off. What I have left to finish would take my "normal" self an afternoon, I just can't be bothered with half of it 😣

peasandquiet · 26/04/2017 08:47

Oh bean, I'm such an emotional wreck you've got me in tears. So pleased you got to go and see your Grandad, and he felt the baby move. Look after yourself please xx

More babies Smile and all boys so far, how strange! I'm pretty sure this is a boy but will have to see when it makes an appearance!

Off to collect a load of baby things I had loaned to a friend this morning. Should be all sorted and ready once that's all back here!

Can I request that there is a link to the birth stories thread in the first post of the next thread?

WishIWasSleeping · 26/04/2017 09:02

Argh! Boobs like boulders this morning!
I forgot about that!

Have all the baby's been as per predicted on the spreadsheet so far!l? I know mine was a surprise though!

Barnes79 · 26/04/2017 09:06

Jenny That sounds odd about the spd. I've had lots of back and pelvis pain for years and always assumed labour itself would be more painful, and therefore if they think you can get out the pool fast enough during labour, I don't see how spd pain would slow you down as long as you are still mobile with it. Plus, aren't hospital birthing pools made of sturdy stuff so you can sit on the edge and swing your legs round if there's someone to help support you?

Bean so sorry to hear about your grandfather *sends hugs

Yellow congratulations on your little boys safe arrival Grin

teainbed · 26/04/2017 09:48

@yellowismyfavourite congratulations! Another boy! Hope you're feeling ok.

@beanturnipandspud I'm sorry to hear about your Grandad. Take care of yourself.

@jennymac31 glad you've made up with DH. It's a very stressy time for you both.

@EsmesBees and @1004Rise thank you and pleased to report a better night. I think we take BabyTea upstairs and suddenly he thinks 'the bar is open!' And turns into a party animal. Actually I'm doing very little during the day, DH is still off on paternity leave and my DDs are in school, and my older DS is away on a school trip this week. Health visitor is coming this morning.

MrsJW15 · 26/04/2017 09:50

Congratulations yellow! and also zoo - gorgeous photo.

Hugs bean, thinking of you today.

Vicki I'm so impressed, wish I was more creative and could make something for baby.

Rise I'm the same. Last day is tomorrow and I'm working from home today. Getting increasingly less productive! Not sure quite what to do to entertain myself, although I will do some baking to take in tomorrow.

London based (or other) ladies, any thoughts on something not too strenuous that I can do on Friday? I'm spending the day with an American friend who has been here for a few months but is about to leave. We had originally planned to go to Hampton Court, but I think the travel, walking etc is going to be a bit much for me. Trying to think of something in or near London that we can do together.

jennymac31 · 26/04/2017 10:26

Barnes - yep my thoughts exactly! The midwife explained that the birthing pools had steps down to the bottom and seemed to be making out that it would be a struggle for me to get in and out. I certainly wouldn't be following her demonstration of how to navigate the pool.

I've got a visit to the MLU and delivery suite on Sunday so hopefully I can have a look at the birthing pools.

1004Rise · 26/04/2017 10:27

@WishIWasSleeping I was just having a look, there haven't been any boys when we thought it would be a girl, but there were a few that were surprises.

I've added a couple of columns to the spreadsheet d.o.b. and boy/girl didn't want to overtype what we were expecting Smile I've tried to fill in for babies that have already arrived but I'm getting confused already Blush

Northernexile · 26/04/2017 10:40

Morning all! babynorthern is 5 days old today, hard to believe! Midwife has just been and he's had his heel prickly (total star) and from day 3 when he had gone down to 5lb 15oz, he's now back up to 6lb 2oz, so going the right way thankfully.
So sorry to hear about your grandad bean, but so lovely that you were able to see him and he felt the baby move.
Huge congratulations yellow! Who is going to have the first girl then?!

Northernexile · 26/04/2017 10:41

*Heel prick, not prickly!

nursebickypegs · 26/04/2017 10:50

Oi @Rustler74 these cans of sleep are for me! 😂😂😂

May 2017 #13 the lucky thread
ClaireSunflower · 26/04/2017 11:02

Hahaha cans of sleep @nursebickypegs I wish we could stock up on these! Not that I'm getting much sleep anymore. If one more person tells me it's my body getting me used to lack of sleep...

@jennymac31 it seems strange they would think it would take you longer to get out of the pool. I would imagine any 9 months pregnant woman in labour would need a little help getting out SPD or not. I need help getting out of bed!

savagehk · 26/04/2017 11:08

If I remember rightly there's a hoist for emergencies anyway if it was really a problem!

Badgerbird · 26/04/2017 11:29

yellow congratulations on your baby Smile

So sorry to hear about your grandad bean. Particularly difficult at such an emotional time Flowers

Spent the morning in triage due to reduced movement. Ofcourse she was absolutely fine and wriggling away little monkey!! Damn AP SadI nearly puked and passed out whilst hooked up to the monitor though which was rather exciting. That's 2/3rd time now, seems my lbp (normally around 80/50) kicks in when I lay still for long periods of time. They did a growth scan, all good and I did get to see her Little face scrunching around having a drink.

Off to work now to look after a 7 month old :) Have a good day Mamas.

ShiniBerry · 26/04/2017 11:49

Thanks everyone, i think I've got my head around the induction now, though i'm not entirely sure what to expect from the sweep today. DH has worked from home so we've managed to get quite a few things done. I've been mentally preparing myself for the possibility that I may go into labour today, also been feeling a bit off, like feeling a bit fluey, tummy being odd, nauseous...DH thinks these may be pre labour symptoms which would be okay with me so as not to have to be induced.

I had a bit of an emotional day yesterday. I started thinking about how I wont have my bump anymore and how I'd miss LOs constant company and being able to keep him safe and it just made me cry. Completely neurotic I know because the rational side kept saying but it will be better when you can actually cuddle him and hold him and sleep and move without bump in the way. Bloody hormones!!!

Congratulations CrazyZoo and Wish

Welcome back NurseBickyPegs sorry you've had a difficult time

Very sorry to hear about your grandad Bean Flowers

Very impressed by your creativity Ticky

Hope your CTG went OK and you get the information you need at the induction appointment Raspberry

Ahhhh cakeeeeee BouncingBlueberry

Hope everyone finishing up work this week are doing OK xx

Barnes79 · 26/04/2017 12:03

Watching yesterday's OBEM and one lady had really gone to town with making her room homely. Now I'm sat here trying to think of anything at all I could take to make the room homely when it's my turn. Ain't got the foggiest idea as fur baby won't be allowed and that's all I can think of BlushWhat's everyone else taking?

savagehk · 26/04/2017 12:05

Taking my glasses off and/or putting my eye mask on and blocking all else out is my plan :D (although of course my plan is to have a home birth anyway ;) )

1004Rise · 26/04/2017 12:15

@ShiniBerry fingers crossed you start on your own, but I'm sure you'll still be fine with an induction. You do sound calm which is a good start 😊

@Barnes79 what do you mean no fur babies allowed 😳😱 I have no plans to take anything (other than DH) I can't think of anything that would help me.... other than getting baby out 😉

MrsE84 · 26/04/2017 12:58

@Barnes79 Take a couple of pillows if not already on your list. Some clever person recommended to me for the birthing centre and thank god, as the ones they provided were wafer thin and there's no way I would've been comfy otherwise.

RasperryInAMelon · 26/04/2017 13:10

Seriously pissed this morning... after the two week wait for this induction consultation tomorrow, I've just had a call to tell me the Doctors unwell and they're cancelling my appointment and can't see me for another two weeks.

Whilst I've not been happy about the idea of being induced, they obviously thought there was a reason for it and now can't see me until 38 weeks. Now sat in the bath balling my eyes out stuffing my face with chocolate...

@1004Rise hope you're feeling a little bit better now?

@crazyzooo that is a seriously scrummy baby!! 😍

@Tickyboovicki love the cot mobile! It's beautiful! MIL knitted a gorgeous dress and had some yarn left over so I've said I'll try and do some booties to match

@beanturnipandspud Sorry to hear about your Grandad - lots of love coming your way 💕

@EsmesBees have a lovely day out at the zoo!

@yellowismyfavourite congratulations!! Another boy!! 💙

@Autumnsweater my mum has been the same with her trying to be supportive, I'm just choosing not to listen now! Thankfully she's not here though

@MrsJW15 I've got a friend coming to London tomorrow and we're just going for afternoon tea - lots of GroupOn deals at the moment ☺️

@Badgerbird bless you - they never stop us worrying do they!

CTG went fine APU thanks @ShiniBerry - see above for the latest update on the induction consultation

@Barnes79 literally watching OBEM now, might pack some electric candles and a diffuser along with a couple of pillows from home ☺️

KLane · 26/04/2017 13:23

@MrsJW15 What about Borough Market (not so busy on a Friday) and Brindisa lunch, afternoon tea at the top floor restaurant of the National Portrait Gallery (good views), bit of a wander and shopping around Marylebone/ Regents Park if the weather is nice, or Museum of London (surprisingly interesting)? As an American with lots of American visitors, those are always big hits :)
