Is anyone else wearing their pregnancy clothes yet? Got my topshop preggo jeans on but they are not very comfortable :-/

Hazandduck · 26/05/2017 12:50

Ah it must be a symptom then! Mine have been every morning until late afternoon, nights are better. I thought it was because our bedroom has the sun on it all day it gets absolutely boiling and doesn't cool down. Last night we resorted to sleeping on the sofa because our downstairs is so lovely and cool, but again my head hurt this morning so must be hormonal. I try and minimise taking paracetamol purely because if I get a crippling head or something I want them to still help but I had to take one this morning.

Just out on my lunch break sat on a bench in the shade with a twister lolly, ah bliss! Don't want to go back to a stuffy office...

Hazandduck · 26/05/2017 12:51

lydia I've not no but my SIL commented the other day that I needed to go up a size with my bra, they must've looked fit to bust!

Foggymist · 26/05/2017 13:04

Lydia I've been wearing my maternity jeans since 11 weeks, 13+5 now. My own ones wouldnt so I did it for comfort, I hate the hair bobble thing because the zip stays open then anyway. I've one pair of normal jeggings that fit and my sportswear leggings, luckily all my summer dresses are fine :) Nobody even notices yet so it's minor expansion but enough to need to adjust my wardrobe. Had to put the extender on my bra this morning, didn't have to do that until about 26 weeks last time.

theotherendofthesockportal · 26/05/2017 13:17

I am melting actually melting! I never thought to buy maternity dresses! I don't fit into my normal clothes. I also need to buy some sandals.

I have had a twister ice lolly for lunch which has helped slightly. And I don't even care that it's not healthy.

lydiangel83 · 26/05/2017 13:42

I've kind of grown all over so kind of had to buy new clothes lol.

Hazandduck · 26/05/2017 13:44

Haha sock that is my lunch too!! Sod it, it's too hot for anything else :)
My summer dresses are a godsend, I tend to wear loose floaty type dresses any way so haven't had to buy any others yet. I'm wearing one today and it's so much nicer wearing this in the office than a top and trousers! X

stuckinny · 26/05/2017 14:31

All this talk of sun and twister lollies is making me jealous. We are in our second day of rain here. Although I'm not complaining too much. It was in the 90's last week and awful.

Does anyone else eat twisters by eating the ice cream bit first, then the green bit...or is it just me?! Confused

Had a checkup yesterday. Everything is fine. Heard the baby's heart beat too which was cool. Put on 4 lbs in the last 4 weeks but I think at least 2lbs went to my boobs! I have a scan booked for three weeks time. Also been offered a blood test for cystic fibrosis.

Foggymist · 26/05/2017 14:48

Stuckinny I used to eat Twisters like that, til I realised I don't like the green bit so stopped eating them!! Took me a long time to figure out I didn't like them ha.

I was supposed to book to see gp next week at 15 weeks (think said earlier I'm in week 13, I'm not, it's 14, duh!) to check bp but I forgot, will go at 16 weeks so must ring soon and not forget again!

lydiangel83 · 26/05/2017 16:00

All this talk of icecream made me go and buy a Nutella milkshake from my local shakeshack. Got to support local business and all that :)

stuckinny · 26/05/2017 16:59

Lol foggy. My friends DH thought we were both bonkers eating them like that. I couldn't imagine eating them any other way.

Are you under midwife or doctor care? I have my next three months worth of appointments already booked

Foggymist · 26/05/2017 17:29

I never know the answer to that, I have a main consultant but most appointments are all with midwife or gp if there's no problems. We don't get appointments booked in advance here, we get a list telling us when to make gp appointments and the next hospital appointment is booked at the previous one. Usually you have no appt between 12 & 26 week hospital appointments but I have 15 week gp check and 20 week hospital one dependent on the results of the gp one.

Hazandduck · 26/05/2017 18:14

Haha yes stuck I have eaten them like that but I am one of those crazy animals that bites ice lollies in big chunks too! It makes my OH cringe :)

Hazandduck · 26/05/2017 18:16

I know I am still really early to feel movements but I've not had any flutters today I don't think :( I know I shouldn't worry but I can't help it! After feeling them the last 10 days or so it's weird when they stop! Got midwife appointment on Tuesday so hopefully will get to hear the heartbeat x

Foggymist · 26/05/2017 18:38

Movement/flutters every day or consistently wouldn't be expected until much later. I remember a nurse asking if I was feeling constant movement at 19 weeks and I basically laughed at her and said no it's far too early for that and the gp agreed.

stuckinny · 26/05/2017 21:52

I haven't felt anything during the day. Usually get a few kicks once I've been laying down for a while...just as I'm dropping off to sleep.

You would think they would sort out appointments in advance. Not only would it be easier for the midwife/gp but for you too as you'd be able to schedule work etc.

Hazandduck you've made my teeth hurt just thinking about you munching through lollies with big bites.

I hope everyone has a lovely holiday weekend. I'm very happy that's it's also a long weekend here. First one this year!!

Foggymist · 26/05/2017 21:57

Stuckinny scheduling gp appts myself suits me fine, I'm self employed and don't always have childcare so the flexibility of choosing what day etc is fine. I've been lucky with hospital appts that the consultants clinic I'm attending is on Tuesday mornings really early, doesn't interfere with work and my best friend is always free that day to mind ds.

AGnu · 26/05/2017 23:59

I'm back! I can't believe how hot it is over here. We left Canada in the rain & around 15 degrees & by the time we got out of the airport at about 9am it was already over 20! I've spent most of the day sleeping off a really bad headache - it turns out that heat/pregnancy/lack of sleep/jetlag is a really bad combination! We mostly had a good time, although towards the end of the holiday DS1 was incredibly over-stimulated & struggling to cope & DS2 had all but stopped eating & kept insisting he wanted "our food at home". A week is a long time to be away from home when you're 3! Other than the difficult behaviour, frustrating mealtimes & occasionally dodgy weather, it was fab! Grin DS1 keeps telling us he's "too used to being at home already" & that he's "too used to living in Canada" so has to stay there... I agree. I love it there! Who knows when/if we'll ever get a chance to go back! Will have to try & convince DH he wants to get a job out there...!

I'll try to catch up on everyone else's news tomorrow - hopefully the jetlag will have worn off a bit by then!

@AGnu I'd love to go to Canada one day. The scenery look amazing there.

Foggymist · 27/05/2017 08:19

I used to live in Canada, loved it, but not in winter!! Their winters are the entire reason I moved home!

Hazandduck · 27/05/2017 09:08

Glad you had a lovely holiday Agnu I remember you saying you were a bit worried about it before you went.

I'd love to go to Canada too, I'm actually currently trying to convince OH to take me there for my 30th over New Year 2018-19 :D Any recommendations agnu or foggy? Whereabouts did you live?

Zampa · 27/05/2017 09:29

Canada is an amazing place. Glad that you had a lovely holiday Agnu.

I have a confession to make ... Whilst perusing the JoJo Maman Bebe website, I stumbled across the sale section ... I bought 2 half price Christmas sleepsuits for the little one. So cute but maybe a bit early in the year/pregnancy!

Foggymist · 27/05/2017 09:50

I lived in Toronto, absolutely loved it, have been back on holidays twice and always plan more but it's so expensive to get/stay there. Went to Montreal and obviously saw a lot of Ontario, I didn't have any interest in winter sports so didn't go to Vancouver, too busy going to Vegas, NYC & Boston while we could get to them so easily.

Banff is meant to be absolutely beautiful.

Foggymist · 27/05/2017 09:52

But I wouldn't go anywhere there for NYE, too cold and snowy and gross Grin

Hazandduck · 27/05/2017 10:16

Ah thanks foggy although we are looking at Whistler haha so pretty much snowy/gross central! But we would be going to ski. Just need to convince MIL to come and be babysitter for us...too cheeky?! It must've been amazing to have all that on your doorstep. I'd never fancied going to America until I went and now I cannot get enough of it! I would 100% live in San Diego.

Zampa I have been on there too and saw those cute suits! But I resisted. I have bought two baby grows from there though, got a little ducky one and a rainbow one with matching hats. Found OH just marvelling at them the other day when I got in, unable to believe a baby that big will come out of me haha.
