Thread #2, because apparently our "quiet" thread is rather busy! Grin

If you're new, do add yourself to the list so we can all see where we're at!

Help yourself to a Biscuit, here's to another month of chatting!

Congratulations buttery that's great news everything went well. It's crazy how many of our babies were in the wrong position/needed moving at our scans!!

Zampa · 16/05/2017 19:55

Is anyone still waiting for a scan now?

Really lovely to see so many great pictures. Can't wait to see them again at 20 weeks.

Foggymist · 16/05/2017 20:37

I won't get a 20 week scan unless we get it privately, next hospital scan appointment here is usually 24-26 weeks.

MrsJB1987 · 16/05/2017 20:47

@Zampa I am waiting for my first scan! Scheduled for next Thursday morning... I'll b 13+5! Being really impatient and it's stressing me! 🙈 just want to know everything is ok!!

Topsyloulou · 16/05/2017 21:14

Lovely to see more good scan news.

We've got a private scan booked for 11th. Taking DS & that's when we'll tell him about the baby. Once we've found out the sex we'll take him to pick some baby grows & that will be baby's first outfit when it's born. I bought him a book on being a big brother last week, had a quick read & it made me all teary!

Those of you that have had a CS before, are you finding your scar getting quite tender? Hoping it eases as bump moves up my abdomen as some days it's almost painful, particularly if I brush past something with it.

Foggymist · 16/05/2017 21:17

Topsy my scar isn't sore or sensitive at all, I was only thinking about it today as I assumed it would be. It's quite common apparently isn't it? Mine's a bit itchy but it's always a bit itchy!

Zampa · 16/05/2017 21:50

MrsJB You must be twitching with impatience! Hope that the time flies for you.

Topsy No tenderness or other issues with my CS scar. I didn't appreciate that this may occur. Will pay more attention to this now.

Hazandduck · 16/05/2017 22:02

Great news buttery! We are a day apart :)
MrsGB we are clearly going to have a load of rebellious November babies on our hands haha x

Hazandduck · 16/05/2017 22:04

Good luck for your scan next week MrsJ, the wait is torture but I liked that my scan was quite late because the wait for the next one is really not that long! My 20 week scan is the 27th of June (day after OH gets back from his stag do, poor bastard) which after my 16 week scan next Friday is only a month away! That's mentally soon! X

kimblesj · 16/05/2017 23:17

So back from seeing consultant today, baby will be delivered latest at 37 weeks so will be an October baby! I'm going to be having scans every 2 weeks, alternating between cervical length and baby growth, having one at 18 weeks to focus on my uterus! I feel great about them taking so much care but also a little bit scared we may go through everything again! Fingers crossed please ladies x

lydiangel83 · 17/05/2017 02:27

@Hazandduck is it usual to have a scan at 16 weeks? I'm struggling to get my midwife to see me between 16-18 weeks!

MrsJB1987 · 17/05/2017 07:36

So I am now 12+4 (Im)patiently waiting for scan next week... just want to ask about symptoms. Mine have eased considerably; nausea has calmed down, tenderness in boobs have calmed down, I am still exhausted and have some pulling and twitching feeling going on. And my trousers definitely feel tighter by the day. No pain r bleeding at all. Is this all normal at this stage? A family member has just had a miscarriage and it's completely panicking me!!

Zampa · 17/05/2017 07:42

MrsJB It was almost like my symptoms were switched off bang on 12 weeks! I went from throwing up every day and going to bed at 8 with no dinner, to just general tiredness and vague nausea.

Kimbles Do you mind me asking why you're consultant led? I have my appointment with the foetal medicine consultant on 31/05 and not sure what to expect. My reasons are pre-eclampsia/premature birth/EMCS/DDs illness.

butterybollocks · 17/05/2017 08:13

Mrs JB exactly the same here, symptoms mostly went at 12 weeks.

Snap on the 20 week scan date haz Smile

I had a bit of a sleepless night last night and found myself worrying over the fact that it wasn't possible to get the nt measurement at my scan. Checked the accuracy of the quadruple test which is what I'm being offered instead and it's not great. Anyone else in this position? I think I'm going to look into the harmony test.

Hazandduck · 17/05/2017 08:15

Oh lydia I'm an idiot I meant to say my 16 week midwife appointment! Sorry I have got scans on the brain right now! I won't be having another scan until late June x

Hazandduck · 17/05/2017 08:18

Ah awesome buttery on the scan date :)

Did you go for the blood test? If the results come back ok for that would it put your mind at ease? It's horrible that you're still left a bit in the dark, it did take ages for them to get the nuchal measurement on mine too. Or maybe could you phone the maternity unit and see if they could squeeze you in again? Your midwife might have more sway if you ask her to call them for you? Xx

Foggymist · 17/05/2017 08:24

Zampa I'm back in.hospitals at 20 weeks to have my bp checked, don't think I'll be seeing consultant though (unless it's high which hopefully it isn't Sad). I had pre eclampsia, "premature birth (36+6 though) & emcs, ds had done minor breathing problems at first but they were cs related only and he was quite big for gestation so I gather they're not overly concerned re: baby & pre eclampsia for me, just how high my bp was last time. Was your baby born quite early?

lydiangel83 · 17/05/2017 08:30

16 weeks today for me! Lying in bed last night stressing about work, not good for the little peanut :(

kimblesj · 17/05/2017 08:55

@Zampa mainly due to the loss of our last child, my waters broke early at 15w4 and he was born at 22weeks.
Also I have had 3 c sections and have early onset gestational diabetes.
My 3rd son waters broke at 36 weeks so they are making sure that structurally they can ensure there is nothing wrong and my cervix and uterus is strong enough to continue to carry or so they can put in a stitch if needed.

Foggymist · 17/05/2017 09:50

Lydia worrying/stressing about work won't have any effect on your baby, don't add to your worries thinking that Flowers

GingerHanna · 17/05/2017 09:55

My symptoms started dropping off at week 11/12 and have really gone down now. My boobs are still sore and heavy in the morning, but they are huge! Nausea all but gone (apart from every now and then) but the twinges and pulls 'down below' are now a standard accompaniment to day to day life. Bump is gradually pushing out to catch up with pot belly (which wasn't there before getting pregnant).

Had the weirdest dream last night - DH had been kidnapped and working in kitchens in forced servitude. I went in and rescued him, full ballgown and all! Think I'm having associations with his god awful employer at the moment and wishing I could fix it all for him!

GingerHanna · 17/05/2017 09:57

PS Midwife intake booked for Tuesday 30th now I've been discharged from consultant-led care.

Still waiting on NIPT results - told it could take three weeks (from Tuesday last week) to get an all clear letter but if there were anomalies they would call me. However, they are scanning for all chromosomal abnormalities in both LO and me so who knows what could be thrown up!

lydiangel83 · 17/05/2017 10:37

Thanks @Foggymist xx

AGnu · 17/05/2017 10:53

Well, I've had an eventful couple of days! It started Monday evening with blood on toilet paper & after not much sleep & an incredibly anxious 36hours it turns out I have a large skin tag on my groin which must've been aggravated by underwear elastic & having turned up at the GP shaking from the anxiety of them shock, horror calling my mobile instead of the landline as agreed, I'm finally being referred for an ASD assessment!

My DS was diagnosed last year after 4.5yrs of suspecting something was "different" about him but it wasn't until a MN thread a couple of years ago that I finally saw it in myself! I had asked previously about a referral but was made to feel like a nuisance. This GP just got on & did it as soon as I mentioned it as a possible cause for my phone anxiety! My head is reeling now from how quickly & easily it happened but I'm pleased. Smile
