Lixon keep your chin up Hun, hopefully an early scan will put your mind at ease. Take it steady and look after yourself Flowers

FeedMyFaceWithBattenberg · 20/04/2017 20:56

@DoctorDonnaNoble pregnacare is renowned for making people nauseous, try seven seas x

Angielka · 20/04/2017 21:04

Oh Lixon take care. Let us know how you get on tomorrow. Look after yourself! Flowers

glastogal · 20/04/2017 21:38

Lixon - thinking of you. I hope you get some reassurance from EPU tomorrow. I can't imagine how scary it must be but try to stay calm. Wish I could give you a hug x

MaryShelley1818 · 20/04/2017 22:00

Lixon ((hugs)) Thinking of you, hope you can get seen quickly and everything is ok xx

CantHelpDancingWithTheDevil · 20/04/2017 22:09

My heart goes out to everyone struggling through a miscarriage - I've had seven; ranging from 4-13 weeks and it's horrendous. I am so sorry Flowers

leighdinglady · 20/04/2017 22:12

Gosh dancer have they got to the bottom of why?

leighdinglady · 20/04/2017 22:12

Sorry I meant that out of concern, not being nosey. Tell me to bugger off

CantHelpDancingWithTheDevil · 20/04/2017 22:20

No no, you're alright. I have a 2.5 year old DS so I promise there is light at the end of the tunnel -

I have Antiphospholipid syndrome, but the good news is APS is the most common, potentially treatable cause of recurrent miscarriage

Antiphospholipid syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system makes antibodies that attack and damage its own tissues or cells

I was prescribed bloody aspirin - and I have anger towards this in a way, because something that costs 39p in Tesco could have saved me a helluva lot of heartache

Mumoftheark · 20/04/2017 23:00

Hi everyone,
So this afternoon I got a positive pregnancy test!!! Hasn't quite sunk in yet! My period was due yesterday so thought I'd pick up a test but haven't been feeling pregnant so assumed it would be negative. I have a DS age 5 & DD age 2 1//2 & both times knew I had conceived almost immediately. My son needed a toilet break on the way home from school today so I popped into the local church and casually did the test while waiting for him. Shock of my life when the 2nd line appeared lol.
Haven't told DH yet, we have family over to stay so will wait a few days until they are gone, but had to come on here as I'm about to burst!

My edd is December 28th which is also my wedding anniversary Smile

Looking forward to getting to know you all xxx

Hi and congratulations mumoftheark that's gonna be hard not telling DH! I'm not even quite 8 weeks yet and I've told everyone at work today (because I've been so sicky and loads of people had guessed, so I just stopped lying), but I haven't even told my parents yet. Feeling a bit guilty. Told DH we need to go round and tell them on Sat!

Mrsbluebell17 · 21/04/2017 03:50

Congrats ark.

I'm wide awake again at silly o'clock. Hmm actually feel a bit sick too.

So nervous for my early scan in just over a week. Its all I can think about. How are you all doing?

Carlotta82248 · 21/04/2017 05:10

Sending you love @Lixon xxxx

Mrsbluebell17 · 21/04/2017 05:23

How are you this morning Lixon?

DH has just gone off to the gym before work, I'm shattered as been awake for a couple of hours and feel really sick. Just got him to bring me a biscuit up to bed before he went. See if I can stomach this and if it helps the nausea subside. I really need to get back to some kind of healthy eating though. I've piled on pounds these last few weeks.
Need to find a slimming world friendly snack that helps control the nausea. Any suggestions? Hmm

isitwinetimeyet16 · 21/04/2017 06:18

Sending lots of love @Lixon - keeping fingers crossed for you. Xxx

Please all send good thoughts - have my first early scan today at 4.30. Getting through work is going to be torture!! I'll be somewhere between 7+1 and 6+4 - any idea what I might see?

leighdinglady · 21/04/2017 06:49

dances who knew aspirin helped with things other than just hangovers! Grin

isit good luck at your scan! You should see a cashew nut with a little flickering light of a heartbeat.

Mrsbluebell17 · 21/04/2017 06:56

Good luck for your scan wine. Let us know how you get on.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 21/04/2017 07:07

Good luck to everyone having scans.
Top tips for riding out nausea for someone who can't graze all day (teacher) and can't have ginger biscuits as my HoD will guess and I really don't want him to.

Beardy1 · 21/04/2017 07:56

doctor at the moment chewing gum seems to be helping me so maybe try that or mints.

Also good luck to the people having scans.

lixon thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed.

My nausea seems to be pretty bad when I'm in the kitchen or around any food prep. I think my dh is struggling to cope as I was also the cook. I'm also finding if I eat something one day I can't even go there the next. I'm only 6+1-2 and know this is gonna get worse. Today I feel like I'll be living off plain yogurt and granola! Woop. Luckily I've been at home most of this week with work but next week I'm in the office. Eek!! How is everyone coping with their nausea in the office?

Kungfubaby · 21/04/2017 08:13

Ah @doctor I hear you - fellow teacher here! Nausea hasn't hit me as yet as I'm only 5 weeks, but it was bad with my first. I remember having a secret stash of crackers in my desk for emergency nibbles! Maybe try sipping cold water if you can. Are there no colleagues you can confide in?

Good luck those with early scans.

So, I'm off out tonight with a group of new friends, and there'll be drinking involved. I've already offered to drive, so they'll be suspicious anyway - do I fess up, or just keep quiet unless asked? Can't be bothered to lie!

YouBoggleMyMind · 21/04/2017 08:33

I'm 5+4 by LMP but not sure I'm that far along and have no sickness. It's making me nervous! I don't want the sickness as I know I won't cope but I wish the next 2 weeks would hurry up so I can see little bean!

Mrsbluebell17 · 21/04/2017 08:34

I think I'm going to try and buy some of those mini bags of breadsticks (I think they are aimed at kids Blush) and keep them in my bag. Whilst I know they're no good on slimming world they have to be better than sugary biscuits.

Zaberwocky · 21/04/2017 08:36

Boggle if it does hit, you'll cope. You don't really have much choice Grin if it does just lower all expectations of housework, and you'll be fine.

Zaberwocky · 21/04/2017 08:37

Bluebell I can't see them making a huge difference! You'll probably find you're eating less overall anyway so it should balance out.

YouBoggleMyMind · 21/04/2017 08:38

Zaber, what makes you think I do any housework Grin
