Just thought I'd better kick a new one off...
Another day, another tearful outburst at work! It's getting very embarrassing Is it just me who feels like crying at the drop of a hat? Maybe it's lack of sleep, just not dealing very well with things that would not normally bother me, then something really small sets me off. cried in the toilets for 20 minutes today! Can't even explain why. Is this normal still at this stage?

Hi !
Notsolikel I have to say I like Jasmine the best!!
Ive put on about 1.25 stone so far, havent been too naughty but really like melted cheese and pickle!!
Been really suffering with pains at top of ribs (side) and severe pain in my shoulder blades which feel like "burning".
Im sure its to do with my posture , any 1 else getting the same?

doggus · 13/03/2007 21:38

Hello lilkel, it is good to have you back. Why don't you leave your hair til just before the section, that way you will look a bit crap for a couple of weeks, but radiant for the birth and photos?

On your name choices, I really love Vivienne and Zoe; am not so keen on Jasmine but only because it belongs to someone I don't like; and I do like Sienna but it has been a bit tainted in that people will think you are a massive fan! Mind you, this is from a woman that was seriously considering Titus for a boy until dh pointed out he would be called Tight Arse for the rest of his days

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 21:40

PSML Tight Arse!!

notsolilKel · 13/03/2007 21:48

ROFL at Titus/Tightarse.... that's the best one I've heard in a long while!!

Good idea re the hair. Will leave it then till midMay, maybe invest in some alice bands to hide the roots . And if this DD is anything like DS1 then she'll be early and I'll be caught off guard with invisible untinted brows, chipped nails, and dark roots, and 1000 chores left to do. No wonder DS screamed at the sight of me God I sound v high maintenance. It's just my eyebrows are lighter than they should be and but my hair is darker IYSWIM. Moan moan. Sorry

I'm going to be in right pickle if this turns out to be another boy. So many pink ruffly things...

doggus · 13/03/2007 21:54

I am just as high maintenance, brows need doing every other week to keep up with hair. If I don't dye my hair every five weeks the grey shows. I also have Botox, which you are forbidden when pg, so the first chance I get, I will be sprinting from the labour ward to the doc. And I get my brows threaded. I never used to bother much, butI hate to say to all of you under the age of 35,you will!

Btw Alice bands are in this summer.

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 21:54

My dp is such a knob!! He was just taking the piss out of me because I wrote PSML in the last post instead of PMSL!

I'm sure you look lovely lilkel! My hair goes various colours on it's own so I never match my eyebrows! I am like a chameleon!

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 21:55

Wow doggus, botox!! I need some of that, I'm only 25 !!

doggus · 13/03/2007 22:00

H&A, I bet you don't...I have it round my eyes and on my forehead.I was SO nervous but it honestly makes me look 5 years younger. Dh was very sceptical but even he was blown away. It's about £200 every six months, worth every penny.

doggus · 13/03/2007 22:01

Sorry, stupid laptop, combined with baby kicking hard made me post twice

notsolilKel · 14/03/2007 01:04

Wait, where on earth do you get Botox for 200 quid a session?? Speaking of age busting, I had the ultimate humiliation moment at Estee Lauder counter this week. Went to buy my usual Idealiste stuff and the lady took one look at me and said, you know, that's not strong enough for you - take a look at our anti-aging line...(GAH!!! ). She then attempted to redeem herself by emphasizing that I don't need the 'lifting and firming' stage of product yet. Pah. Bought the silly antiwrinkle cream anyway. Convinced it actually is making me look worse though...can these things actually create wrinkles??

Oh dear oh dear, having to pack and leave the parents tomorrow (Wed). Making me very indeed. My poor mum's already said 10 times "ohhh, what are we going to do without DS's smiling little face around?" (never mind me, of course!). Must distract myself with imagining how fab kitchen will look once repainted (latest crazy idea).

Hope you had a good night ladies. Beginning to dread bedtime myself. All that heaving and harrumphing to get comfy...

hollyandalice · 14/03/2007 05:14

Aarrrrggghh!!! I am an insomniac!! Been awake since 4!!

justbeme · 14/03/2007 10:41

Ohh HollyandAlice - how awful!!
I bet your asleep now though?!!

Have any of you started your NHS classes yet? or when did you get booked in for them - Im 25 weeks nearly and havent done anything about them yet.

hollyandalice · 14/03/2007 11:01

Well I feel like shit!! Thanks for the sympathy justbeme! I got up at 4.30, made myself some toast and a drink and sat on the PC a while. Then I went back to bed and read for a while. Fell back to sleep about 6.30 and got woken up by dd at 7! She is going to go for a nap in about half an hour, then I'm going back to bed. We are going to the soft play centre this afternoon and it'll be rubbish if I'm knackered so I need to sleep!

As for NHS antenatal classes your mw should book them for you. Just remind her at your next appt.

BadZelda · 14/03/2007 11:16

I'm not sure about all these mini eggs. Yesterday I ate: 1 bowl of porridge; 1 tuna nicoise salad; 1 cup of lentil soup; 1 banana and jerk chicken, rice and peas for dinner. Then a whole bowl full of sliced up lemons and oranges for a snack in the evening. Have been getting a few braxton hicks, but mostly if I've been peddling too hard on the way to / from work. I've read that they're worse if you get dehydrated, so you should find they're not so bad if you're drinking plenty of water?

BadZelda · 14/03/2007 11:26

p.s. I wouldn't recommend the jerk chicken: was awake at 5am with stomach cramps from those hot hot chillies. Ah the suffering that follows pleasure...

hollyandalice · 14/03/2007 11:27

Salad? Porridge? Cycling? Pah!! Wine Gums, Mars Bars and watching TV!!!

Thanks for the tip on BH, maybe I don't drink enough!

foxybrown · 14/03/2007 11:27

Morning all. Sorry to hear about the insomnia, it sucks. I've had it and its massively frustrating! Had a rubbishy night myself, sharing a bed with sickly lo. Its a horrid bug, spoke to the doctor this morning and its rampant. She advised Diorlyte or Lucozade Sport - look out for the thread "I saw Mom forcing Lucozade Sport into 2 yo - shock horror".

BadZelda - I think you put us to shame with your nutricious, well-balanced diet. I must try harder to lay off those Toblerone and tea lunches!

Seansgirl, never had a breadmaker - obviously I bake bread by hand daily. Don't you all?
Actually I don't have one because it will get relegated to the cupboard along with the George Forman grill, the juicer, the steamer, the sandwich maker etc etc etc.

I just popped to Sainsburys to get milk and bread. Realised I had a hole in my leggings, so ended up spending £xxx on maternity wear in H&M. Bloody expensive loaf and pint in the end!

Doggus - botox?! I want some! Have you read 'the rise and fall of a yummy mummy' crappy yum-mum lit, but got me to sleep last week, and I quite enjoyed it (scared me how much of it I related to). Main character goes and has it as part of her post-partum make-over.

And you MUST go to your NHS ante-natals - simply because you make fab friends who you will meet up with every week and do long leisurely lunches whilst bambino sleeps peacefully under restaurant table. Oooh, I wish I could do that again this time!!

hollyandalice · 14/03/2007 11:28

I had chilli the other night. It was a BIG mistake too!

foxybrown · 14/03/2007 11:29

I love jerk chicken. Now I want some.

Its like when I see Chip Butty's name on a thread on here. Sends me into a cold sweat and I become obsessed for days until I give in!

hollyandalice · 14/03/2007 11:32

Hey foxy! I'm waiting for dd to finish her snack then it's off to bed with me! You poor thing and your poor dd! My doctor suggested dioralyte last time dd was poorly and it worked a treat. He also said to give her some Ribena as it was nice and sweet and full of vitamins. Hope she gets better soon. Hope you manage to have a good nap today as well!

foxybrown · 14/03/2007 11:35

Its fine, I don't mind being awake for a good reason. DP buggered off now until Sat night. GRRR!

hollyandalice · 14/03/2007 11:37

Oh you poor thing! My dp is going away tonight as well. I hate it. Not talking to an adult for a few days sends me loopy!

hollyandalice · 14/03/2007 11:40

Please read this thread , I absolutely PMSL!!

Seansgirl · 14/03/2007 11:49

Holly, poor you! I would be a wreck with little sleep too. Thankfully DD woke up at 7.15 this morning having slept from 7.10 last night! Lucky girl! Me on the other hand for so unknown reason seem to be tired in afternoons but then 10 onwards I become perky and watch crap on TV until 11! I have been thinking I must stop this soon and start stocking up on sleep for impending lack of!

BZ we all shamed by your healthy eating and cycling, I have not touched salad since leaving slimming world in November! Am planning some salad soon as the sunshine makes me feel more like it! But isn't Tuna on the banned list? Not that I haven't strayed off the list for the odd thing here and there tho!

Foxy, my Nigella vision of you is tarnished now! I have never made bread at home but I suppose the one down side could be that it smelt so good when warm I'd pig out!

Lilkel glad you're keeping up the side and fitting all the shopping up! Jasmine is my fav. Not a fan of Sienna at all. Safe journey back to Blighty!

Doggus, Botox wow! I'm 36 perhaps I should invest. Everytime I watch that b**y programme 10 years younger I start stressing that I should be on it! And I can't watch that you are what you eat at the moment! Gah!

Off to collect DD from pre-school then we are going to park to have picnic! DD is over the moon she loves picnics!
