Just thought I'd better kick a new one off...
Another day, another tearful outburst at work! It's getting very embarrassing Is it just me who feels like crying at the drop of a hat? Maybe it's lack of sleep, just not dealing very well with things that would not normally bother me, then something really small sets me off. cried in the toilets for 20 minutes today! Can't even explain why. Is this normal still at this stage?

Do you know, I ran out of wholemeal flour so was unable to bake! Opted to let DS2 watch unsuitable Jetix whilst I washed vomit-covered soft furnishings. Ahhh, motherhood.

I still sometimes question my bond with DC2 and 3 simply because the circumstances of DS1's birth were such that it was just him and me from conception til when he was 8 months old (although DS2 was planned and conceived at 5 months). Wasn't until he was 8 months old that we became this big, happy family. There's something in that making a decision to have a baby against all consequences, going through with it and making it work which has bonded us in a different way I think (hard to explain, so might not make sense). I love all of them the same, I feel equally bonded to all of them and one has no less of me than the other. Can't really explain it. So I'll stop trying.

foxybrown · 13/03/2007 16:59

As DP away from tomorrow morning I have ordered this weeks shop from Ocado and have included buttermilk and flour, so will bake scones. You are all virtually invited to afternoon tea, shall we say 3pm? Puking permitting.

doggus · 13/03/2007 17:07

Scones, foxy, how lovely. May we also have cream and jam? If anyone else, like me , is too lazy to bake - go to M&S fresh bakery bit and get their scones (not the ones off the shelf which are vile), lovely.

I think I am going to book a wax and have a pedicure afterwards as a treat as have just realised I can't reach my toenails! I will tell you all the gory details, Marylou.

Seansgirl - the only reason I can face going to the party is I bought a lovely dress in Hommemummy's sale and if I go to London I can have Krispy Kreme donuts!

foxybrown · 13/03/2007 17:56

clotted of course.

I figure there's at least 4 pampering sessions due before birth-day.

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 18:02

Mmmmm scones!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 13/03/2007 18:26

doggus - how brave re the waxing. Had bikini line done once and coldn't believe the pain (compared to leg & eyebrow which are a cinch). I tried to trim up before going swimming and have given myself a horrible itchy shaving rash. Can't see how bad it looks but it feels terrible. In future DH will be on 'hairdressing duty'.

With you on buying stuff. Ordered a pack of newborn nappies and some wipes when I did my Tesco online food shop. That's it so far for forward planning. I hate shopping (sacriledge, on this thread, I know) and find the array of baby stuff so confusing, I just can't face it.

Now, did someone mention scones? Yuuuuummmm.

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 18:36

I know this morning I said I'd not had Braxton Hicks, but today I've been having weird tightening type feelings and tummy pain similar to needing a poo or mild period pains(sorry tmi)! My bump goes rock hard and I find it difficult to stand up straight. Is this Braxton Hicks?

I'm obv disorganised, I haven't bought any nappies yet! I have bought all the sleepsuits and vests I need, but that's about it. I need to fix my crib and strip and paint it (the varnish got all chipped when we moved and it has gone a bit wobbley). I guess it's things like that I need to do before I get to fat to move!! I guess with no. 2 and subsequent you tend to wing it a bit more!

Will people stop mentioning Krispy Kremes? I need some and live nowhere near a shop that sells them. It makes me sad !!

Seansgirl · 13/03/2007 19:27

Foxy, wow! am very impressed and I bow to your Nigella type shopping list - Buttermilk! I can confirm that DD and I have no other prior engagement and would love to come to virtual tea tomorrow! I'm all excited Clotted Cream!!! Oooohhh lovely! I could really eat some now! But have none nor anything that resembles it ! Can I bring anything? am not too bad at baking I can make a good carrot cake or raspberry and apple cake?

Well, all is crystal now Doggus - Krispy Kremes it is all apparent and I don't blame you! Now you have put that thought in my head - I have a shopping trip planned with DM and DD in the Bull Ring Shopping Centre next month for DDs party frock think will twist both their arms to go to Selfridges for Krispy Kremes! Yum!

Seansgirl · 13/03/2007 19:29

Sorry Holly. Will not mention the KK words again.

Seansgirl · 13/03/2007 19:33

Foxy, is Ocado any good? Is it very expensive? I like internet food shopping but get p**d off with the crap fruit and veg I get sent by Tescos. I know its down to the internet shopper - but I think they must employ complete divys at our local store!

foxybrown · 13/03/2007 19:46

Ocado are definately far superior, and a wee bit more pricey, but delivery is free over £70 I think. O, and they often send you promo codes for free treats (choc, wine, etc). I usually use Tesco which are good down here, but worse delivery. Ocado have the yummiest treats and as I've had to get in a few ready meals as DP away and I'll be knackered so, sod it!

I do fancy myself as a bit of Nigella, and sometimes, in my head, I pretend I'm on Masterchef!

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 20:21

Grrr...these tightenings are pissing me off!! Feeling really fat and unsexy today and my horrid tummy pains are making it worse.

Sorry moan over!

I can't do internet food shopping. I always miss something off and have to go to the shop anyway! May have to get used to it though, can't see myself going food shopping with my dd and a small baby. Dp cannot be trusted to food shop. He always buys crap and really expensive things and forgets essentials like bread!

I want to be Nigella too (and my dp would love me to be her!!)! Maybe I'll do some baking tomorrow, I quite fancy gingerbread cookies. I'll bring some to the virtual afternoon tea. That is if I don't eat them all first ! Today I have mostly been eating chocolate!

Seansgirl · 13/03/2007 20:33

LOL Foxy at the Masterchef confession!

I have never experienced BHs either Holly, but by your description I hope that I don't it sounds as bad as persistent hiccups but with added uncomfortable-ness. Hope they go soon.

I like the sound of your Gingerbread too. (and in a fast show style of jess's diets) Today, I have been mainly eating MINI EGGS!!!

doggus · 13/03/2007 20:36

Another big thumbs up for Ocado. I love the little free treats you get as well, foxy, but they are guilty of starting mine and dh's Green & Black's addiction. Sorry for mentioning KK, Holly, you are in the same boat as me, I think our nearest outlet is Selfridges, Oxford Street (chocolate covered custard filled is my fave btw, seansgirl).

Tallulah - thank God you haven't bought anything either. We have been SO crap, keep meaning to go and look but then we don't. I have, however, printed out the reviews from Mumsnet to take with us when we go. We bought two books of baby names and haven't opened those either. It's like I am in denial that we are going to end up with an actual baby!

doggus · 13/03/2007 20:37

Seansgirl - I have just typed my message, gone to the kitchen and upended a tube of Mini Eggs into my gob!

Seansgirl · 13/03/2007 20:38

On the shopping front can't trust DH as he is tight, and buys cheap rubbish that I wouldn't and never buys anything 'extra' so when he unpacks I'm looking for goodies and can't find any so I ask where they are and says they weren't on the list. Grrrr..

Was thinking of using Ocado, the other thought I had was to do a bulk buy of meat once a month from the butchers and have a weekly veg box delivered and then have Tescos once a month for the non perishable stuff. Then I suppose I would still need bread, milk, cheese, etc. Had wondered if a bread maker was a good idea? Anyone have experience? Nigella?

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 20:39

I ate 1 Mars Bar (full size), 1 Cadbury's Flake Dipped (full size) and 1 twix (fun size)! Mmmmm!! Maybe I'd best stop, but there is a whole bag of Wine Gums in the snack drawer and I won't be satisfied til I've eaten them! No wonder I'm feeling fat !

Tomorrow I will mostly be eating salad (oh and gingerbread cookies)!

Seansgirl · 13/03/2007 20:40

Doggus, PMSL at your mini eggs! Way to go girl!

Seansgirl · 13/03/2007 20:44

Holly, your seriuosly not alone - I've eaten 2 tubes of mini eggs, a hot cross bun, 5 digestives and a granola bar! That is besides my regular food. Am also planning hot chocolate and a kitkat or possibly a hot cross bun when watch the drama on 3 at 9pm!

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 20:46

My dp's the same with lists as well seansgirl! He has no imagination! If he goes without a list he buys rubbish and if he goes with a list he buys what's on the list and nothing else. No special offer snacks!

Doggus, chocolate covered custard are my fave too! My nearest is Reading or Slough, so are prob yours as well. I can't stop thinking about them!

I used to get a veg box from Riverford when I was weaning dd as I was obsessed with only giving her organic food (that's gone out the window now!!). The boxes are good, but you get some really random veggies in them that I have no idea what to do with!

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 20:47

I am going to have some Coco Pops. It may stop me eating the Wine Gums!!

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 21:00

What is it with football? My whole life seems to revolve around it! The weekend is dedicated to it, some evenings and now dp is watching some stupid shitty film about it on Sky Movies! He was also up until gone 2 playing Football Manager on the PC last night meaning I didn't sleep properly. Grrr...! I want to watch the Bodyshock programme on c4. Having to Sky+ it instead.

doggus · 13/03/2007 21:16

PMSL at your diets - mine is exactly the same, normal food supplemented by piles of chocolate, syrup spong, bread pudding etc. H&A, laughing that you know where our nearest KK oulets are - we should petition West Quay to open one!

Dh hates football, thank God, the only sport he will watch is tennis, which I am fine with. My ex adored footie, he played all weekend, which totally c-cked up the weekend, and watched it on the telly whenever it was on. It was such a pain.

notsolilKel · 13/03/2007 21:25

helloooo....
miss you guys! Another vote for long live Mumsnet!! I'm literally talking to DH about you all as if you're neighbours. Must do a meetup soon!

about Taichimum. I'm just dripping tears at everything lately. Dreading saying goodbye to mum tomorrow (we fly home tom). I'm going to lose it!

Hair question - I've got shoulderlength and highlights and was last done on 1 March. Section planned for 25 May. Normally I'd wait 6 weeks for a freshening up but this would mean mid-April then again at end of May... not going to work!! Help!!

Just bought bottle drying rack (our dishwasher doesn't dry for crap and I refuse to attempt washing a dozen bottles a day again as with DS1).

Having second thoughts about our name of choice as well. Shortlist was Vivienne, Sienna, Jasmine, and Zoe. Were going with Sienna as we picked it on our italian honeymoon alas a certain celeb has ruined it for me of late and now totally unsure!

Also generally feeling like a cramping B-Hicks-ridden whale and def looking fwd to it all ending! Even if labour is involved and my section is missed...

hollyandalice · 13/03/2007 21:36

I love Zoe and Jasmine lilkel! IKWYM about Sienna being ruined! Vivienne was Julia Roberts's name in Pretty Woman, that would put me off!! The thing I think you have to decide is does the name you have for your new dd go with your ds's name? My dp is obsessed with the name Alfie for our new ds, but I don't think it goes with Alice, too similar.

Hope your parting with your mum isn't too traumatic! You poor thing!

Let's arrange a meet up for sometime maybe in a couple of weeks.
