#TTC1 - Second Wave grads thread the Second!

Hello all! Welcome to the second thread for the 'new wave' of grads from #TTC1 - the first wave ladies seem to have decamped en masse to Facebook now (I heard weaning mentioned last time I ventured onto it) so this is now officially the place to be!

We're pretty spread out over the pregnancy journey so far with some newbies and some about to pop Grin I'll try to maintain a list so if anybody wants to leave details of due dates and whether you're Team Blue, Pink or Vanilla (I think we're pretty heavily skewed towards Pink at the moment) then leave your details and I'll amalgamate them!

As Moose mentioned in our last thread, please do feel free to join in if this is your first time walking this weird and wonderful path - there is no such thing as TMI and we're all learning off each other!

I wouldn't be comfortable with a second hand car seat personally, car seat, mattresses and shoes! I was wary about buying the one we got because it had been on display in the window. Unless you know the people you're buying it from really well I wouldn't be prepared to risk it. (I don't want to sound patronising) all it takes is a hairline crack if it's been dropped or a slight degradation to the polystyrene. Also, definitely get an iso fix base because Omg do they save your back and an arseload of faffing 😁

Mrsbluebell17 · 30/04/2017 20:18

Just wanted to pop a quick post on to say thinking about you marmite and hoping all is well.

marmitecheesetoast · 01/05/2017 02:12

Hi guys I've finally had a minute to pop on and say she's here!!!!! Yes - she!!!
She arrived on Wednesday 26th in the evening after a 38 hour labour, emergency forceps delivery in theatre. Sounds horrific but actually on the whole very manageable, I got to use the pool and was in the birth centre til near the end when we had to be transferred to theatre. And oh my goodness she is soooo tiny and gorgeous I love her so much!!
Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts. Sorry for the delay, we're still in hospital as have both been quite poorly following the birth. However, we are both well on the mend now now and hopefully all continuing to improve will get to go home in next few days. Will have to update more when have the chance.
It's been really difficult spending the first week in hospital but at least we're in the right place.
Oh and I ended up going into labour the day before my planned induction!!!

Sorry I haven't had a chance to have a proper read through and catch up on all your news but hope everyone is doing well.

Oh and Audrey love the marmite toast soldier!!! Grin

Mrsbluebell17 · 01/05/2017 05:52

Congratulations on your baby girl marmite! So pleased to hear that you're both doing well now although sorry to hear that it hasn't been all plain sailing. Fantastic that you got to go into labour naturally though! I'd love to hear more when you're feeling up to it but for now I hope you can continue to rest up and enjoy your newborn time! Yippie! Yes marmite congratulations! Another TTC1 team pink!
Pleased to hear you sound so positive even after a tough start, fingers crossed you get home soon.
A lovely weekend had here. DP was away on s stag do and I thought just one friend was coming to stay with me. She arrived bringing three of my Northern based friends with her - a surprise lunch then turned into afternoon tea with my Mum and sister and more friends and family there! It was a wonderful surprise and I feel very loved and spoilt!
35 weeks here now, it feels like it's getting very close!

Starmist · 01/05/2017 09:07

Seahawk80 · 01/05/2017 09:45

Congrats marmite hope you both continue to get better and can go home soon! Another girl - yay!

That's so sweet moose sounds like a lovely day.

All good here, 31 weeks today, I thought I was 32 weeks today for some reason so don't feel like I'm making much progress! Also a bit depressed as working the bank holiday but then I get to be off tomorrow so I'm sure I'll cheer up later!

macsworth · 01/05/2017 10:01

Congratulations marmite. I'm glad you're both beginning to do better and hope you get home soon. So good you didn't need the induction and she was able to come in her own time.

Wow bluebell, what a surprise! Either way...free scan is a win!!! Good luck with your work trip.

moose that sounds so lovely, what a great bunch of friends you have.

Sorry you've got to work today sea, hope it's an easy day for you.

Off for an early scan this afternoon. Having brunch with friends this morning to try and take my mind of the worry/excitement!

kavanaughkj · 01/05/2017 10:08

Massive congratulations Marmite! The surge of happiness I felt reading your news felt like hearing family news - I am sooo happy for you! Hope you both feel better soon and enjoy your little girl's first few months (what a lovely time of year to be born) Grin Flowers. Such a relief to hear that you're both OK.

Moose, you have some lovely friends there. What a nice thing to do for you before you pop!

Good luck at your scan today Macs!

Also thanks for the advice Seahawk - trouble is, this nursery asks for the days you want up front, and as they're so popular if I don't book it I'll lose them. I think I'll just have to book up the full week until I know what my workplace can do for me.

(It was either toast soldier or little crouton!) 😊 rest and be looked after, enjoy the newborn snuggles. YOU ARE A MAMMY!

macsworth · 01/05/2017 17:34

Scan went well. Measuring a day behind at 9+2 so EDD is 2nd Dec. It's so amazing to see the little dancing blob and hear the heartbeat ❤️❤️ And DH's face was so lovely!

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday.

WantingBaby1 · 01/05/2017 19:59

Congratulations marmite! Wonderful news :) glad to hear you're both on the mend too. Would love to hear more (When you have a chance of course) about what you found helped and didn't help you get though the birth. Lovely news!

So glad your first scan went well macs :)

glitteryvibes · 01/05/2017 20:57

Congrats marmite hope you both settle well back home.

Glad the scan went well macs

LovelyFishy · 01/05/2017 21:17

Macs glad the scan went well and you got to see your lovely little bean! Grin

Moose glad you had such a wonderful surprise weekend with friends. Smile

I've had a rotten headache since yesterday evening, just won't budge. Had to get checked out by midwives this morning to rule out pre-eclampsia, which I knew was super unlikely. It's not thankfully but I'm still stuck with the headache! Plus baby's learnt a new trick of kicking me right in the cervix. Confused

Sodasoda · 02/05/2017 10:01

Huge congratulations marmite! You're a mummy! What amazing news! Enjoy these precious first few weeks and all the newborn snuggles, I miss them now! Hope you both recover soon and get some rest. Lots of love to you and your little girl xx

kavanaughkj · 02/05/2017 14:41

Ouch Fishy, that doesn't sound comfortable!

After discovering a fantastic burst of energy over the weekend (our kitchen has never looked so clean and tidy. we even have flowers in the window! Also masses of washing done) I am now falling asleep at my desk. DH was away for the weekend and came back at past 1am. With a cold. And started snoring straight away. Then I had to get up and pee at 5am.

I think I maybe had about 3 or 4 hours of sleep? soooooo tired.

Congrats on the scan macs I'm off today after working the bank hol. Our cleaner who is quite erratic with her times and doesn't always turn up is here. I went out for a bit but it looked like it was going to put with rain so I came home and am now in her way! I'm trying to stay in one room taping up the edges of doors we need to paint but it's still awkward! We've decided we can't afford her once I'm on mat leave and I'm quite glad now as I'd feel awful doing this every week!
