Thinking of you Raspberry xxx
I am not thinking of having baby in a cot until outgrown its Moses basket. We have a stand in which I'll have the basket next to my side of the bed. We may need to change our room around a bit to accommodate for that.
We were talking this weekend and concluded that if we are turned out of this flat we will just try find something else and pay a moving company. Let's hope they won't though as it would cast a big shadow over the babymoon period when we are supposed to enjoy our newborn, particularly as the OH can get so incredibly stressed.

mrspage1985 · 13/02/2017 09:01

Hope all is well raspberry

MissMooMoo · 13/02/2017 09:05

raspberry hope you and baby are ok!

Hope all is well Raspberry x

Well that was an eventful evening.

Finally got some shut eye at about 1.30 this morning, safe to say I was pretty shaken up and am super tired today, but resting on the advice of the Midwife and orders from my Boss.

It wasn't too long of a wait, but those 45 minutes felt like a lifetime. BP, temp and urine was fine. Doctor came and did an internal and it looks like I have a slight cervical rupture where I had a biopsy taken last year following an abnormal smear which is still being followed up. Will take it easy and have been told to go back if it doesn't stop in 24 hours or gets heavier.

Other than that all is well, nice strong heartbeat and a very wriggly little girl letting mummy know she's in there!

Thank you for all of your well wishes xx

Phew that's good news, take it easy today.

1004Rise · 13/02/2017 09:25

Glad all is ok Rasperry take it easy today and make up for some of that missing sleep! Cake

Badgerbird · 13/02/2017 09:36

Phew raspberry!! So pleased all is well and she wasn't making an early appearance ;) rest well today x

Thanks lullaby I'll have a look at sleep board. Yes a full size cot where I can take side off/down to have safely as co sleeper type thing. Save buying 2 different cots. Thanks savage and esmes, was just going to buy normal one where I can do it safely but woman in mothercare put me off! I shall carry on investigating :)

We can use a Moses basket rustler but I'd prefer to be able to just put my arm across to comfort or bring her across to me to breast feed. I would have liked to co sleep you see but feel this may be the next best (safer) thing for us as a family :)

yellowismyfavourite · 13/02/2017 09:39

raspberry glad all is ok that all sounds pretty scary. Hope you get lots of rest today

Adventuregame · 13/02/2017 09:40

Oh Raspberry huge sigh of relief on your behalf here !! Thank goodness.

Adventuregame · 13/02/2017 09:42

So my boss just mentioned that she thinks she needs to give me the equivalent of bank holidays for the rest of the year before I leave so that it's all up to date til year end. I'm taking the remaining annual leave before my maternity leave anyway so that's another 7 days to fit in in the next 3 weeks. It makes me nervous using all my holiday up in case something goes wrong .... Sad

Sauvignonismysaviour · 13/02/2017 09:43

Scary stuff Raspberry, hope you manage to rest today.

Teaspoon74 · 13/02/2017 09:57

Adventure - that's good! My HR told me I don't get BHs during mat leave as I'll be paid anyway. If you're worried about finishing workload if, can you chat to bosses about carrying it over/ getting it paid off?

Rasperry so glad you're ok! Just take it easy. Not too long to go now!

Lullaby;) I didn't ask (about dark nipples(m) but that is reassuring Smile

Rustler74 · 13/02/2017 10:00

What a relief Raspberry! Glad you're back home x enjoy the wriggles, too and take it easy xxx

savagehk · 13/02/2017 10:08

badger we bought a co-sleeper cot last time (and I found a bargainous one this time so have bought it too) but he ended up in bed with me at about 5 days old. He just slept so much better next to me in bed than just an arm's length away. Once he outgrew it we did the cot-thing but really the cot was only there to stop him potentially rolling out of bed (we'd been given the cot by a friend). It is easier to roll baby out of a co-sleeper than to lift out of a moses basket IMO - less awakeness needed from you :)

peasandquiet · 13/02/2017 11:19

Adventure, from a purely practical point you still get mat leave after 24wks of pregnancy even if the worst happens, they don't suddenly make you go back to work. If they are giving you extra leave that sounds lovely, knock your hours down so you do shorter days or weeks? (Also it's ok to worry, but try not to)

Rasberry, hope your ok, crap to have a scare. But glad the baby is doing ok, even tho you might have some ongoing plumbing issues still to face.

Was only thinking earlier today that it probably won't be too long before we have a birth. Not sure on what the statistics are like but there are so many of us on here that it's a possibility that someone will have an early baby. Fingers crossed if it does happen for a safe delivery and healthy mum and baby.

MissMooMoo · 13/02/2017 11:26

peas I was thinking the same thing!
I told DH that for us there is only Feb and March with no chance of a baby and Feb is already halfway through. The early May ladies must be nearing 30 weeks or so and I think we have a few pregnant with twins.

Anyone else on halfterm this week? The children I mind are and of course I have come down with an AWFUL cold, worst timing ever.
I have promised a day out to a big softplay centre tomorrow and wednesday we are going to the cinema so I am hoping by them the cold will have buggered off. The younger 2 are colouring in some valentine sheets and the oldest is at a friend's house.
I am on my 3rd cup of tea today Blush

PeachIcedT · 13/02/2017 11:39

peas I have also thought about this, every time I'm reminded that the baby is viable it makes it a bit more real.

I'm so glad baby is ok rasperry, you must be exhausted now. Hope you get lots of rest today.

MrsJW15 · 13/02/2017 11:42

Hello all, just catching up now I'm back to work - sigh. Flight was delayed and long but otherwise fine, thanks Badger. The return to work feels like the countdown to baby has really started!

Raspberry that sounds scary, so glad that everything is ok, hope you are getting lots of rest.

Badgerbird · 13/02/2017 12:42

Exactly savage! It's easier than Moses basket for us too & mainly to keep baby from rolling out as I worry if there's enough room in the bed safely for 3 of us Confused So I just need to look for co sleeper cot? It's just when I google that they seem to be the smaller crib co sleepers that come up rather than full size.

missmoo bad timing!! Hope the kids go easy on you and you get some good nights sleeps in this week to see the cold off.

Envy to delayed flight mrsjw!! Hope you enjoyed your trip and work isn't too rubbish.

teainbed · 13/02/2017 12:43

Was thinking the same peas. And like rasps there will be various complications and hospital trips in the next couple of months. Cheerful thought for the day!

We're on halftime this week. Just heading on holiday now for the week, we won't get away at Easter this year for obvious reasons!

savagehk · 13/02/2017 12:44

badger I'm pretty sure that the co-sleeper cots will all be the smaller ones (if that's what you google). Trying to remember where I've seen recommendations before for full-size cots....

savagehk · 13/02/2017 12:52

This looks pretty adjustable (and pretty costly! perhaps eBay!?) www.mothercare.com/cots/mothercare-bedside-cot/815448.html

I know someone's used this, but would depend on your bed-height I think www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/childrens-ikea-products/baby/cots/gulliver-cot-birch-art-80260782/

MrsJW15 · 13/02/2017 17:17

A friend has offered us an Ikea day bed - this one www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/beds/guest-beds-day-beds/hemnes-day-bed-frame-with-3-drawers-white-art-50080315/ - for our spare room. We weren't necessarily planning to put a bed or anything in there, but if it fits (which it should) then this seems like a good option. It would hold some of our things in the drawers, and allow people to sleep over.

We also need some storage for baby clothes, so I am thinking of maybe a chest of drawers that we can use as a changing table as well. Not sure the Ikea unit is tall enough, so I'll have to do some research.

lucieloos · 13/02/2017 17:42

Raspberry, so glad everything is ok that must have been very scary for you! Put your feet up and take it easy for a few days.

I have my first measurement with the midwife in the morning. Feel a bit nervous. Hope everything is on track.
