LOL Maveta - I'm just imagining Santa Claus lookalike giving Beyonce a run for her money!

maveta · 01/03/2007 08:28

Yup Yvie, that´s more or less the image I´m left with too!

liath · 01/03/2007 08:39

Hi everyone.

PMSL wading through the madness of the last couple of day's postings - those perineal massage ones really cracked me up. For the record - I'm way too prissy to be going there!

My bladder alarm seems set at 6.30 am at the moment, some times I get back to sleep after but then DHs alarm goes off at 6.45 anyway.

Not doing yoga but for everyone with rib pain I think I have perfected the "Maveta Move".

Stage 1 - place beanbag infront of birthing ball

Stage 2 - have a few cushions to hand

Stage 3 - kneel on beanbag, ignore sniggerings coming from the bloke on the sofa , and carefully lean forward over birthing ball, hoping it doesn't roll away at inappropriate moment.

Stage 4 - arrange cushions to support bump, head etc.

Stage 5 - come too an hour or so later to be gleefully informed that you have been snoring & farting in your sleep.

Have had a lovely couple of days with my sister. Feel a bit more optimistic about having a second as she's finding it much easier this time around, despite still being up to feed twice a night. Dd was absolutely great with her new cousin too, though almost too attentive - will need to keep a very close eye on her and have somewhere to put the baby that she can't get at for loo breaks etc.

Aaah, can still smell that lovely milky new baby smell. Maybe that's because my nephew posseted down my neck, though - need to wash my hair .

1st March today - IT'S US NEXT - WE'LL BE HAVING BABIES NEXT MONTH!! EEEK! In fact, Ooogs has gone very quiet, hasn't she?

muminabigtumi · 01/03/2007 09:03

Morning!!

Laith - I Know OMG It's MARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I waslying in bed last night and I saidto Phil..."You know from tomorrow we can say that our baby is due next month..." He looked like a rabbit caught in headlights - he he he.

Maveta - Have you ever seen the UK Renault Megane advert with the music "I see you baby - shaking that ass..." If you haven't I'm sorry this is lost on you but I am having visions of your landlord dancing about to that....

SOSPL - glad you had a better nights sleep. I dodn't do too bad - woke up once drenched in sweat and bursting for a wee...and when you do get to the bathroom and go do you, like me, think....was that it???? James though was up again at 5.50am despite a new 8pm bedtime - RAAAAGH! So it was Milkshake again this morning - but to be honest at least I feel human when I do get up and have the patience to deal with the demands of a tantruming toddler who wants a snake yoghurt and not a monkey one.... sigh
Excellent news re another Dry night - she is doing really well isn't she!

My Dad came round last night and bought us a takeaway to celebrate Phil's new job, I was annoyed as normally the baby is doing the tango at that time of night but of course my poor Dad wanted to see if he would feel/see it and it was not having any of it...despite drinking Irn Bru and eating chocolate to try and give it a sugar rush!!

Yvie - hope your AN appt goes well.

Ahh well - I'm being summoned to watch Me too with his lordship, weather is rubbish today and don't know what to do to keep the boy amused....

Birdiebump · 01/03/2007 09:25

Morning! March indeed - I'm sure that at least, oh, 2 or 3 of our number will have popped before this month is through!

Back to dry nights for us as well SOSPL - although he did wake to use the loo at 3am then wanted to get into our bed. So that was the end of my sleep for the night but I appear to be somehow getting used to no sleep....

5 more days of work to go!

34 weeks today!

DH is now worried that I could go into labour at any minute - I certainly look as though I could.....

Maveta - love your landlord! You are good at painting a very vivid picture!

maveta · 01/03/2007 09:32

MIABT . I know the song but haven´t seen the advert.. you´re all spot on with the imaging.. maybe I should try and get a sneaky photo of him so you can really share the joy.

LOL at ´maveta move´ for birthing ball...although Liath it sounds as though you´re taking it to a whole new level... Dh took a picture of me slumped over mine the other day, hot water bottle balanced on my back (hot water bottle shaped like a parrot) because, in his words, of the ´pathetic´ look on my face.

Aaah. Love.

flannelettepyjamas · 01/03/2007 09:40

Just a quick gatecrash from the Due in March thread. Thanks a lot AngeG for your post in our thread about your experience 3 1/2 years ago. It's great to know that the little mite (2lb 9oz born at 33 weeks on 11th Feb) might one day be a big buffer! Hard to imagine just now. Thanks again and sorry for the gatecrash!

Pesha · 01/03/2007 09:49

Cant believe it is march already, I have so much still to do!!

Twinkle - good luck with the tests.

MIAT - LOL at the snake not monkey yoghurts, ds always wants the monkey ones. Theres only 2 in a pack FGS - what am i supposed to do!?!?
Am very of the dry nights, we keep trying him and he says he doesnt want a nappy on but if he does need a wee in the night he just sleeps too deeply to wake up for it. In fact he doesnt even wake up when he wees in his bed most of the time, the first I know about it is the over powering stench of little boys wee on his sheets in the morning!! So I am now reluctantly insisting he wears nappies every night as although he did often have dry nights he was having just as many wet ones so we will wait till he's abit older and try again.

mammyjo · 01/03/2007 10:13

Morning everyone, hope you are all ok.

I actually slept quite well last night with only 3 trips to the loo. I average between 6 and 8 most nights. Wake up feeling like I will burst and then do enough to fill a flamin' thimble. So frustrating. I can remember after having ds, the first time I did a proper wee and thinking how much came out! (sorry if anyone is having breakfast). Not sure who else made a comment about "is that it?" but I am so with you there!

Maveta, I am imagining the santa character drawn by Raymond Briggs dancing around shaking his ass. Funny image

Cant believe it is March and who said our babies are due next month? True I know but damn scary when you actually think about it, especially as I am due on April 1st! Am off to sort out ds clothes today as his new room is just about finished. Hoping he can be in there for tomorrow night and then I can start sorting out the baby's room. Have got out lots of stuff from last time but have this nagging feeling there is something I have forgotten. Have got clothes, nappies, steriliser, monitor, moses basket, buggy, car seat, buggy parasol, baby bath, bedding. What the hell else do I need? All suggestions welcome please ladies as I have a real mental block.

Have a good day all xxx

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 01/03/2007 10:19

Maveta, what a lovely description of your neighbour! Brightened up my day.

Liath, really glad you enjoyed your trip, and that dd enjoyed her new cousin. I am slightly concerned Becky might be over-interested in the new arrival, as she is so in to playing mums, dads and babies at the minute.

Birdie, I think it's great your ds takes himself to the loo in the middle of the night!

MIABT, hiya pet. Pmsl at the yogurt debacle! We used to get that with the pull-ups - "I want a hippo, not a giraffe". FGS, does it really matter!!??
Hope the weather cheers up for you. It is quite sunny here but the wind is well chilly. We are going to a farm this a/n which should be fun.

Yvie, good luck with the appt this a.m.

Right, need to do housework while B at pre-school. So much to do and still feeling rough with a yukky cold. Hey ho.

See you all later. xx

mammyjo · 01/03/2007 10:28

Poor you SOSPL, I didnt realise you were still suffering with your cold. It must feel like its gone on forever. Hope you feel better soon.

flumppootle · 01/03/2007 10:36

Very very of those who had good nights sleep. Ds now has what dd had so I have been up and down through the night with him. Poor little man.
Dh is feeling crap aswell so am about to bake him a cherry cake to cheer him up.

MIAM - rolf at the yoghurts thing! My dds were sqaubbling over who had the stretchier tights this morning

Maveta your landlord sounds great, had quite a giggle reading your description of him

Liath a safe place from helpful toddler mummies is a great idea! My girls are really good and trustworthy with babies but I have no idea what my ds will be like.

Goodluck at appoiment yvie.

Cant remember anything else, brain is foggy.
Have a good day everyone, the sun is shinning dowm here and we saw some daffodils on the way to school - lovely.

flumppootle · 01/03/2007 10:36

Get better vibes from me too SOSPL

Ellieump · 01/03/2007 10:38

just a hint from my sister on the 'leaving baby alone with toddler' thing, she is mad enough to have only 54 weeks between her two, and having put baby dd in the playpen to keep her safe from ds (1), she caught him trying to get baby out of the playpen through the bars! now whenever she nips to the loo, ds goes in the playpen and dd stays on her playmat

Ellieump · 01/03/2007 10:41

and on the boobs thing - I was 34B before matthew, breastfed him for about 10 weeks and was 34C after. they didn't sag or droop at all and you'd never have known they'd fed a very hungry 9lb baby!

bet i'm not that lucky this time tho

Ellieump · 01/03/2007 10:45

flumppootle · 01/03/2007 10:49

Morning Ellie

Are you okay today?

Ellieump · 01/03/2007 10:55

not really but just getting on with it x

AngeG · 01/03/2007 10:57

Morning all.

I really feel we need a new thread already

Yvie - Birthday dinner was ok last night. Jake decided to be a bit of a pain though and popped 2 balloons so we didn't stay for dessert. It was a good night though. Hope MW app goes ok today.

SOSPL - Hooray for Becky and another dry night.

Maveta - Agree with MIABT about shaking that ass. It was the image in my head too

Flanelettepyjames - Thanks for the reply. Hope everything is going well for you and your little one.

Can't believe we're all due next month now If I have my way mine will just make it into this month. Am going to beg the consultant for my section on 30th March I'll be 38+5, because my brother flies out to India for 2 months on the 2nd and otherwise won't see new baby til he gets back. What do you reckon...think I've got a case?

Saw mw yesterday who felt round and said yes "baby is head down...not that it matters if it's coming out of the sunroof" PMSL.

Elliump - You're back. How are things with Stephen? Hope you've managed to get them sorted. Love the idea of putting the older one in the playpen. My friend did that so the older one could play with her toys in peace.

Sorry forgotten everything else.
