I've now managed to do my public profile...

Afternoon ladies. Hurrah to all those on their last day at work. Mine was last Thursday and I am currently enjoying my second child free day at home whilst DS is at nursery! Am glad as its been totally peeing it down today and we would have gone mad locked ion the house all day!

Just been over to an nct friend who had twins (both girls) and is now clearing out all her baby stuff - tons of it! Have taken a bouncy chair, play gym, nappy bin, baby bath and some clothes off her hands for £15 god love her! We borrowed quite alot of baby kit last time so I'm a little short this time plus I want to have enough so i can be set up with baby and toddler upstairs or down without having to carry chairs/mats etc around the house. Don't know yet what we are having gender wise but couldn't resist some of the girl's things and they were going to charity anyway...

Have so much to do before this one arrives - haven't sorted through any of the photos of DS for about 9 months so want to get that job done before April, plus all the usual household chores (luandry, bills, sorting out post etc etc) that are now my responsibility as I'm off work rather than shared... boring... sigh.

Pesha and MIABT - we have Milkshake on every morning too, although all DS actually wants to watch is Noddy! And how weird is Bottletop Bill????

Am feeling the bad mummy thing too - bad to DS as am not paying enough attention to him and bad to DC2 as am not really ready for its arrival etc etc. Motherhood - Can't win!

Right 2 hours before getting DS from nursery, what job is next...

MMK - what a wonderful story. Have read your profile and good on you! Re my age gaps - dunno - some would say having a teenager, a pre-schooler and a newborn is the height of idiocy but maybe it is better than a toddler and a newborn? Next week is my last week at work - finishing on Friday - scary thought in a way as it brings all this so much closer!!

Hotlips - we love Bottletop Bill in this house! DS2 can't stand Noddy, though!

CaptainDippy · 28/02/2007 15:17

about you and Stephen atm ELlie - hope you can work it out once more .....

Off for my bath ....

Yippee!

YvieE · 28/02/2007 15:44

Ellie - hope everything is okay with you and Stephen - here if you want to talk.

mmk · 28/02/2007 15:47

birdiebump
thank you for your kind words. Yes, our journey here was a long one.

I'm dreading maternity leave (starts next Friday). Can't face being stuck in the house alone all day. DS will be in nursery. I'm doing a lot of lunches!

Mind you, I could get to work on the nursery, which looks like one of those rubbish tips you see in Brazil.

You've been all through it before then, twice. What is your number 1 tip? I'm sure its not idiocy to have a teenager, 3 year old and newborn. I bet you'll just sail through it, so will they!

Our computer at home is totally dead, and 3 days of trying, we haven't managed to get a response from the tech team. If they see at work that I have done nothing but send e-mails, I'll probably get fired!

Ellieump · 28/02/2007 15:48

right now i'd quite like to just cry!
i've always been abit of a flirt and it is never intended as anything other than harmless. last night i was posting on another thread and when he read it today it upset stephen.
no, he shouldn't have been looking, and no, i wasn't doing anything that he needs to be upset about, but he is. so i have to do whatever i caan to sort it out.
off to uttoxeter now x

Oh ellie hope you work thing out with stephen [[[[hugs]]]]

So of all you with no DC this afternoon, my DD is running me ragged, nothing like being very very pg with a rampaging toddler.

mmk- So happy for you that your treatment has worked out well for you.

maveta · 28/02/2007 15:58

Well that was painless. Midwife appt went just dandy. Weighed me and after our last run in she didn´t say anything, just wrote the number down and moved on to listen to the baby. All good and head down. yay!

CaptainDippy · 28/02/2007 16:14

Good, good maveta - glad all is well!

Poor you 1B3 - I am struggling being PG with two under three; but feeling sorry for you being PG with TWINS and having the LO!! [hugs] Hoping you can get some good rest once she is safely tucked up in bed tonight. Will she watch TV / DVDs?? - If so, make the most of it (my two don't and am slightly of those on here who have the option to sit their LOs down in front of something for a wee while!!)

Bath was lovely - got to go and pick DD2 up soon and DH is collecting DD1 on his way home from work. - The a/n has gone quickly!!

Nice though.

CaptainDippy · 28/02/2007 16:15

Baby Show ticket has gone now btw - Well Done Yvie!!*

maveta · 28/02/2007 16:18

So tomorrow is the first of march...WE'RE NEXT GIRLS!

watching the antenatal threads before you drop off one by one is like being on a rollercoaster inching its way to the top..clunk..clunk..clunkclunkclunk.

Eeeeeek! Stop it Maveta!!

Birdiebump · 28/02/2007 16:21

So nice to be asked my Number 1 childrearing tip! And it is.....

"Follow your heart and go with the flow."

But then - I am a bit of an old hippie!

Maybe all of us with kids should give our number 1 tip to the newbies??

Birdiebump · 28/02/2007 16:22

Cross-posted - Maveta, I love that rollercoaster image! Adrenalin-junkie, me!

CaptainDippy · 28/02/2007 16:25

Tip. Tip. tip. Mmmmmm.... I'll have to think about that one ......

"Enjoy every precious moment."

....That would probably be mine, I think.

"Never be afraid to ask for help."

There's another!

Best go and get DD2!! Eeeek!

maveta · 28/02/2007 16:27

LOL! Sums it up though, doesn't it? I was going to put SPLAT! at the end but didn't want to be too negative

Yes, go on tips from the ones who know..go on go on.

Laughed at my antenatal class last night. The woman who was leading the group was saying something along the lines of 'just remember to breathe and' and she kind of paused and smirked and I said 'HAH! Caught out, you know this is all a pile of crock and not going to help us at all!" and she laughed in agreement. Reassurance, hey?

weeonion · 28/02/2007 16:28

maveta - oh noooooooooooooooo - i have lost hold of my ice cream - watch out below.....

ellie - sorry to hear that another lovers tiff is underway. hope it works itself out but maybe he shouldnt read stuff that is actually your business/ affairs. kinda the same as reading other folks emails/ letters??? same principle as listening at doors - you might over hear something you dont like / take out of context. i presume he read the stuff with confidenceman? harmless really - if he read on late he would have seen a bit more blatant flirting going on!

weeonion · 28/02/2007 16:31

maveta - our antenatal last night was on breastfeeding... i was ok about it up til then. the leader - bless her! she was of course mrs lactation who never had a moments trouble with latching on and was encouraging us to feed for as long as possible. she woudlnt respond to the question on how it affects your boobs (one dadtobe wanted to know if it would make his partners "tits go saggy?") i could nt help but look at hers to see if there was a lasting impact.

1becomes3 · 28/02/2007 16:32

I love you tip birdie, I wish I could go with the flow, may make life a bit easier, but unfortunatly I am the oppisite of you my number 1 tip would have to be ROUTINE, it's the only thing that keeps me sane! (if you could call me that????)
I have to work out how I will do the dt's rountine so I still get time to come on here and have a good old gossip.
