Where are you going in the Lakes Barnes? That's my neck of the woods Smile

MissMoo I would have thought they would rescan in another few weeks. Our trust won't do placenta scans until 36 weeks anyway.

Nurse15 · 01/02/2017 16:24

Good day everyone! So looking forward to Harry Potter play - more so after all your comments! Honestly if anyone would like the tickets for 19th April just shout - they where £60 for two so maybe not the best seats but hey ho!

Had my 4d scan last night but little miss awkward had her hands a feet by her face and so we have to go back at 28 weeks for rescan!! Seems like ages away but will come round fast.

On a sadder note she is now breech having been head down throughout. May need a c section as I have a uterine septum meaning she could stay breach. Only time will tell!! Smile

Rustler74 · 01/02/2017 17:28

Plenty time to turn, nurse
I'll talk to Ed about the tickets as I'm a potter fan but he hasn't seen the movies Shock
No way about the scan! Was it private?

Teaspoon74 · 01/02/2017 18:10

Hiya Nurse I'd love the tix if you still have them?!? Can't imagine we'll get there post bubs and that's 4 was before DD so should be fine. Saw your post yesterday and needed to check diary with OH. #fingerscrossed

jennymac31 · 01/02/2017 18:12

Missmo - I asked my midwife about listening to baby's heartbeat and she said they don't do that now, instead they rely on mums to be to monitor baby's movements and let them know if there are any changes. I said that I've not felt many movements but at 25 weeks I hadn't expected to feel much movements. When I was pregnant with dd the midwife always listened for the heartbeat so it's a bit strange that it's no longer procedure for my surgery/maternity services.

Barnes79 · 01/02/2017 18:15

Fox - we're going to near Windermere (an anniversary gift my parents bought us last August which we thought we'd better use whilst I can still make it up one or two hills).

Teaspoon74 · 01/02/2017 18:21

Just heading home from hossie on the Thames Clipper. Obs is happy all is good. BP has lowered and I've lost 4kg over last 3 months (so the vomming has been good for sthg!!).

GTT booked. MatB1 signed and sorted. And 3 month supply of anti-DVT needles collected #shudder.

Nurse- will you try again for another scan?

Sah - poor you! Hope you have some good tunes to keep you going in between appts?

Rustler- nowt wrong with being 42! 74 was a great year ;)

Badger - you're brave! Love camper hols but not sure I'd venture on one with newborn. Are you NCT? Maybe worth getting local contact fir wherever you're going in case you need a hand/ washing machine?? ;)

KLane- ta for the link!

And getting v jealous at all the hols being planned. Grin

savagehk · 01/02/2017 18:29

How bizarre jenny, still listening to hb here (or did at 16w and at 24 or whatever my last appt was supposed to be)

Nurse15 · 01/02/2017 18:38

Yeah they offer a free rescan if you don't get a good one so we go back on 22nd :)

Teaspoon and rustler - I have two tickets, you could go together lol!! Send me a private message sure :)

McBaby · 01/02/2017 18:47

They listened to the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment and the consultant did a quick scan to check the heartbeat at my 25 week appointment. It's strange how different it is in different places.

We will not be going away anywhere my spd is so bad I can't walk more than 100metres without needing to lie down for the rest of the day. Roll on 38 weeks till it's induction time!

WishIWasSleeping · 01/02/2017 18:58

Evening ladies.
So after telling me a MW would be visiting me at home at 9am to take my bp yesterday, then me chasing them at 9.45, and then them sending someone at 11.15am (Angry) I'm surprised to share that my bp was 129/81. I was tired and tetchy so I was amused at the result to say the least!
They want to take it again in a week. I've told them I'll get one of the mw's at work to do it and I wouldn't be waiting in again!
Seems like there's a few of us on aspirin! Are we all on it to lower bp? I thought it was a more unusual treatment..
I'm off on a weekend away also, to Rome for a long weekend with the DH&DD in a couple of weeks. It was planned before we found out... which reminds me I still need to plan what we're going to do whilst away!

Barnes79 · 01/02/2017 19:00

DH finally felt baby kick for the first time! Flowers

Baby did one kick which was so hard I physically jumped (if such a thing is possible lying down) so then DH was ready in place for the next one. Think I'm more excited by the fact he felt it than he is though Confused

Sah1987 · 01/02/2017 19:21

I'm on aspirin due to low PAPP-A. I'm booked in for appointment for my scan tomorrow at 1.40 x

lucieloos · 01/02/2017 19:22

Wish, that's really annoying they kept you waiting around that long but good that your bp isn't too high. I'm on aspirin (when I remember to take it) because of ivf and just as a precaution to make sure maximum blood flow to the womb. My bp has always been really good and was 110/78 when measured yesterday and that's after me forgetting to buy more aspirin for weeks. I have them now though and going to make sure I take them everyday

WishIWasSleeping · 01/02/2017 19:30

Maybe we need a reminder on here every day from whoever remembers first! Grin
I hate that mine are soluble and I have to take them after food..

teainbed · 01/02/2017 19:55

Aspirin doesn't lower your BP! It's an anti-platelet agent to improve blood flow to the placenta (amongst other things) to hopefully prevent problems like pre-eclampsia.

I've got the soluble stuff too but just take it with water like a normal tablet, as long as you knock it back quickly it doesn't fizz in your mouth!

Teaspoon74 · 01/02/2017 20:02

Such a good idea wish! I always forget to take mine Confused

WishIWasSleeping · 01/02/2017 20:03

It's actually done a fairly good job of lowering mine tea! I do understand it's obviously got a few more benefits and the end result is to not fall pray to pre-eclampsia... but I'll just try and do as I'm told.. Halo

jennymac31 · 01/02/2017 20:32

Wish - I'm taking aspirin to improve blood flow to placenta in the hope that baby will grow sufficiently, as dd was born 5lbs 3Oz despite growth scans saying she was average size plus she arrived a day overdue. We'll have to see if the aspirin does make a difference.

peasandquiet · 01/02/2017 20:35

Sah I have low Papp-a too and spookily also have scan tomorrow. No one has ever said to me that I should take aspirin, I has borderline HBP for the last 10wks or so last time and it was never recommended then. My BP is currently nice and normal which is good makes me feel a little less worried about tomorrow.

Badgerbird · 01/02/2017 21:31

teaspoon yeah brave or stupid!!? DH is all up for it as a friend of his did it and he doesn't seem to know much about the logistics (or crazy emotions!) that can surround a newborn Confused Good news about the bp, sorry to hear you gotta inject though.

mcbaby that spd sounds horrendous! You poor thing :(

RasperryInAMelon · 01/02/2017 22:00

Aaaaaand my boobs have started leaking... Blush

Wish that's annoying but wait until after, when the mw then later the hv are due to turn up sometime between 9 and 5 Hmm fine if you're planning to be in all day anyway but even if they could narrow it to a 4 hour window that would be great. I've yet to see my actual midwife a second time so I'm not expecting much around here, and luckily DH is taking 4 weeks off so I can pack him off to toddler groups with the big one.

Jugoo28 · 01/02/2017 23:11

@barnes79 DP felt it was weird rather then magical when he first felt the baby kick 😂 Don't think he's used to it yet!

I've been so tired in the evening that DP has taken over full cooking duties. He's a fine cook, just tends to go rogue on flavour combos if you haven't asked him what he's planning on making. We've had some interesting meals!

WishIWasSleeping · 02/02/2017 02:55

Stationary - I don't remember them being so bad after last time! And I don't remember ever having a hv visit.. just a midwife or 2,... although - not daily to check my bp like they said - as mine only went up the week before delivery last time, which resulted in them inducing me 2 days before EDD.
I tried to get up and about 2 days after - got showered and into my jeans and drove the 10 mins to the surgery instead of them coming to me for the first appt... was very proud of myself for about 20 mins... I know that was a mistake I won't be making again!
I suppose I wouldn't have cared on their sporadic timings last time because I had nothing better to do, plus they used to struggle to find my house. (Grin) this time they'll just have to wait if I'm out! (Ha ha!)
