Hi Putting I'm in Birmingham and my booking in appointment is also at home which I was very shocked about! My first so I have nothing to compare it to.

Anyone else from West Mids?

Kirsty8333 · 03/02/2017 07:51

I'm North West too 10storey. I felt the same about booking my appointment with the midwife. I phoned yesterday and made mine 2weeks today as they like to see you between 6-8 weeks. Fx I don't have to cancel this one x

Presh88 · 03/02/2017 08:43

How strange that they see us all at home in Birmingham! Not been told anything about a separate bloods appointment yet though.

Still not getting many symptoms apart from cramping, tiredness and then inability to sleep through the night 😴 No nausea yet although really gone off the idea of a lot of foods - mainly veg and healthy things unfortunately. All I want is crisps and carbs!

Did my last CB digital test this morning and got '3+ weeks' so really hoping that's a good sign and things are progressing ok. Should be 6 weeks tomorrow by my dates!

sj3rram1 · 03/02/2017 11:09

Kirsty8333 and 10storey I'm north west too 😊 fylde coast.

I went to see my GP who did my midwife referral and waiting on that now.

Had some bleeding though so going for blood tests today and repeats next week. Fingers crossed 😬

I really want an early scan 10lovestorey I think I'm going to try the doctors first to see if they will let me have one and if not will go private. How many weeks will you be when you go for your scan?

Kirsty8333 · 03/02/2017 16:43

Sorry just realised I have put your name wrong way wrong 10storey!

10storeylovesong · 03/02/2017 16:58

I'll be 6+5 for private and 8+6 for EPU scan. I'm a bit annoyed that I have to wait so long when I was promised one around 6 weeks due to so many early losses.

JackiePaper · 03/02/2017 19:20

Hi gimble I'm afraid I've not heard of that book, what's it about? I'm in the West Midlands too, the trust I used to work for did home bookings and the one I work for now does it in clinic, don't think there's any particular reason or that it matters, I kinda think it's nicer to be in your own home 😊
10storey - Depending on how good the machine is/how full your bladder is/how good the sonographer is/bmi you will prob see a yolk sac and a little blob at 6+4 with a heartbeat. It'll look more like a baby at 8+5 Smile
I'm so excited but nervous and it's so hard to keep it a secret!!

Babycarmen · 03/02/2017 19:48

Hello!!! Space for a little one?
Got my bfp this morning. Going by lmp I would be due on the 14th Grin hoping it sticks!

10storeylovesong · 04/02/2017 07:58

Hi Jackie, tbh I just want to see a heartbeat! I know I won't be able to see much else, which is why I've kept the EPU one at that date rather than try to move it forward. I'm just feeling so anxious, I'm reading forums all the time and I know the stats after 4 losses aren't that great.

Luckily I'm off to disneyland tomorrow for 4 days - we're surprising our Disney mad ds for his birthday which is on Thurs. That should keep me occupied for a while!

How's everyone's symptoms going?

MrsCharlieD · 04/02/2017 09:17

Morning everyone! 5w today according to ovia but I have 35 day cycles so I think it's more like 4+2. Really tender boobs and back ache but nothing else much to report. I hate these early days when you're so worried about symptoms coming and going. I never really had MS with ds so I'm not expecting it this time, although I know they say no pregnancy is the same. Hope everyone else is doing OK? Is it too early to talk baby names yet? I can think of nothing else!

NotMyPenguin · 04/02/2017 09:19

Does anyone know if the Harmony test also tells you the gender? I am looking it doing it at the Fetal Medicine Centre. Other providers mention gender, but the FMC doesn't!

HollyMay84 · 04/02/2017 10:11

Morning ladies! I can't believe I'm posting here. Got my BFP this morning. Hoping this one sticks. This is my 9th pg but will be 4th baby all being well!

EDD- 10 Oct ish omg that feels weird writing that!

How's everyone today? Smile

RainingCats I live just down the road from you. well, it's about a 20 min drive lol Grin

rosalyn44 · 04/02/2017 10:53

@NotMyPenguin I think it does ...but just from what I have read on mumsnet ...not 100% sure. I just read somewhere that there are alternative tests that test for more than harmony ...anyone know which test is best and most accurate ?

rosalyn44 · 04/02/2017 10:54

Congrats @hollymay84 ;)

NotMyPenguin · 04/02/2017 11:12

@Rosalyn44 Panorama is the other one I think...

Nimisha · 04/02/2017 11:25

Hi all,

Had my early bird appointment with a health care assistant they did my weight and height and carbon monoxide test, then we had a group session. She talked about screening tests, alcohol, smoking, foods to avoid etc. I have my booking on Tuesday.

I had to cancel my last booking Kirsty and 10Story due to a miscarriage so I'm really hoping this one will go ahead.

I'm booking a private scan for this week. It's pricy round here though, 80 to 100 pounds just for one scan. I'm not having harmony as I can't afford it. I think at least. Oh it's so hard isn't it.

I don't think I could terminate a downs pregnancy, but I would like to prepare myself mentally and financially if that were the case. I'll have Nhs screening but would have to think hard about whether to have an amnio or CVS. I'll hate to lose normal pregnancy because of a test. 1in 100 isn't a high risk unless you happen to be the 1!

Kirsty8333 · 04/02/2017 12:03

I've not got many symptoms at the moment apart from sore boobs and bloating/cramping (not sure if it's the bloating which is making me feel crampy). Currently 4 weeks 4 days. Did another clear blue digital test today to check my levels are going up and got 2-3 so happy at the moment. Going to do another one next week to check I get 3+

HollyMay84 · 04/02/2017 12:18

Hi Kirsty I joined today not entirely sure how far I am but roughly 4/4 and a half wks. I have no symptoms what so ever at the moment. I don't think I've wanted to feel sick so much in my life lol famous last words Grin

Kirsty8333 · 04/02/2017 12:57

Hi Holly congratulations! I'm the same I can't wait to start feeling sick. Time also seems to be going really slowly!

HollyMay84 · 04/02/2017 13:07

Congrats to you too Kirsty 😊 when are you due roughly? I know what you mean with time. I only found out this morning for definite and dp has gone to work with strict instructions for me to do nothing today and there's bugger all to watch so today is dragging. I'm waiting till I'm about 6wks before seeing doc. I've had early mcs before and had to cancel loads of appointments which was heartbreaking. Also if I get the ball rolling at 6 wks then not long for an early scan, mw and 12 wk scan lol

Kirsty8333 · 04/02/2017 13:36

I'm due 10th Oct Hollybut got my bfp last Friday at 3 weeks 3 days. I miscarried last time at 7 weeks but I knew there was something wrong from the start as hcg levels were going up really slow. I really want an early scan but was told when I had my miscarriage they would only give me one if something is wrong so may have to pay privately.

HollyMay84 · 04/02/2017 14:13

No way! I'm the 10th too lol well by lmp anyway. I'm sorry about your loss. That's odd that they won't do one to even put your mind at rest? I get offered them because of the other mmcs I've had (10,14&19wks) although idk if I'll do it this time. I just get fobbed off with the whole "well you saw the heartbeat at 8wks why are you worried?" .... Followed by silence whilst they do the 12wk scan then "oh sorry you were right all along" ... Gee thanks doc! I'm not taking no s**t this time Grin

MrsCharlieD · 04/02/2017 16:08

I'm sorry for your losses Holly. That must have been so hard. Just fell asleep on the settee, the tiredness seems to have struck! I've been and bought pregnacare vitamins today and a few more tests for good measure. I like the reassurance early on that the lines are getting darker.
