charli sorry you're feeling anxious. I can't believe they say they have to tell social services what if you are 20 years on from when you had a one offor seems somewhat extreme to me!!

evee glad you got seen and a scan session booked

WarwickAlice · 30/01/2017 17:10

Hey Charli,

I absolutely wouldn't worry about it - you will not have your baby taken away :-) We all do silly things when we were younger, and nobody should hold it against you! Lots of people out there have done much worse things and they still provide loving homes for their children.

I don't think you were stupid for mentioning it at all - it's such a small thing that really, I don't think you have anything to worry about :-) You are SO NOT the world's worst mother to be: the fact you are worrying so much proves how much the little one means to you :-)

OH will stop moping soon...I'm sure that he will have said things that he regrets in the past too, so it sounds to me like he's being a little hard on you.

Lots of love xx

puttingourhoodupdown · 30/01/2017 18:58

I wouldn't worry charli.... MW and Social services have a duty of care, I'm sure if was a throw away comment from her about worse case scenarios of expectant mothers to be being class A drug addicts....it absolutely won't be on their radar....they have much bigger fish to fry. Please don't worry.

I remember in my first pg that I was fretting over the home appointment because we have a large scary looking rescue dog ( although she's soft as butter) and I didn't want the MW to think I was a reckless parent with some sort of dangerous dog so I was wittering to her about always taking care when the dog will be near the baby and that I Hoover everyday so there won't be an abundance of dog hair to make our baby ill etc etc....the MW assured me that the home visit is to check things like....we don't live in squalor, we don't live 15 people to a room, we have flooring and furniture, hot water, heating etc...... It hadn't occurred to me until that point that people have babies in all sorts of situations and some of them are frankly dire....the MW are there to make sure those people get the right support.

Please don't worry

sherbertlemon17 · 30/01/2017 19:57

Evee good luck for your scan tomorrow. I've been suffering with spotting this week too, and although worrying I've found out is very common.

Zyla I'm 6+3 due 23rd!! waves!

Eevee77 · 30/01/2017 20:50

Oh charli try not to worry. Im sure nothing will come of it. The fact you even mentioned it and are now so concerned make a good person. In a few years I'm sure you'll laugh about it. It seems very unnecessary of her to write it down.

Thank you for the good luck guys Smile

OkyDoke · 30/01/2017 21:06

Having a miserable afternoon and evening! Had a terrible headache all day which is still here. Been asleep all evening and just feel a bit pants really!

wolive · 30/01/2017 22:10

**charli I did the exact same thing at my booking in appointment. They asked about drugs and I said something jokey about smoking weed at university. The MW said she had to record it and they would send me some information about the risks of drugs during pregnancy. I felt like such a twonk! Anyway my DD is 2 now and absolutely nothing came if it as I think she knew I was not a drug-taker, so don't worry!

flymo79 · 31/01/2017 03:12

Oky the headaches are the worst! Can you take paracetamol though? I had them so bad in my first pregnancy and am dreading getting them again... Found one cup of tea a day sorted them out a bit, a tiny bit of caffeine can help

calimommy · 31/01/2017 03:46

flymo76 this is a list of drugs which are safe for pregnancy. Unfortunately it's an American one (from my obstetrician) and they use brand names, but if you google the name it will tell you the drug name and you can find the U.K. equivalent. Paracetamol is fine, don't take ibuprofen.

Okey I second a bit of caffeine for headaches but tend to lean on this more from the 2nd trimester. A can of coke used to sort me out if I had a headache and needed a quick Pick me up.

Also, I use Kool n Soothe migraine head strips. I swear by them! They are cold strips which help to relieve the tension I guess... them paired with a nights sleep are my go to!

Tilly2017 · 31/01/2017 06:32

Got my booking in appointment this morning... but I feel horrible! Plus then got to go on to work after as changing jobs at end of next week and need to wrap up all my marking and sort learners out before I leave.... so much to do and not enough time at the moment. Hopefully it calms down in 2 weeks though Smile

MrsY87 · 31/01/2017 06:39

Have been up since 4 wide awake with a totally unquenchable thirst! Anyone else suffering from problems sleeping? I seem to wake between 4 and 5 every morning and it's driving me mad as I'm exhausted but just can't get back to sleep!

Have a follow up scan tomorrow so feeling a bit nervous for that but trying to remain positive as we saw a heartbeat last time so odd are we should again tomorrow.

Got my appointments for booking and 12 week scan sorted, just wish the first trimester would hurry up!

flymo79 · 31/01/2017 06:52

Thanks for that cali, and great tip sherbert. Sorry about stresses mrsY and tilly, I've been waking at 4-5ish too, I put it down to blood sugar/bladder/strange noises I imagine/anxiety/something to do with my blood pressure. I've definitely been experiencing dizzy spells these past few days. So annoying and so hard to keep up with a toddler when feeling grim and its 35degrees outside!

Fluffywallow · 31/01/2017 07:35

Mrs yes to bad sleep! Up at 4 most mornings. Think it's a combination of going to bed stupidly early, hormones, sickness and anxiety. Hope it eases with the rest of the first trimester joys once we get to the second trimester!

charlij91 · 31/01/2017 07:57

Thank you everyone for your advice I really do appreciate it.. it's nice to know it's not just me this has happened to and you've helped to put my mind at rest!
Spoke to OH last night and said how he'd made me feel and I don't think he realised. Was really apologetic. I then made him go to the shop at 9pm to get me a dairylea dunker and some mini milk icecreams to make up for it! :) (don't ask- weird cravings!) xx

Tilly2017 · 31/01/2017 08:13

Same here... Before pregnancy never woke in te night. Whereas now I'm up at least two or three times for the loo or drinks or just pure discomfort! Got to the point I gave up and went and watched a film in the living room from 3am this morning!

Calmisthemantra · 31/01/2017 08:20

I feel like I 'doze' all night with no proper sleep. Feeling worse by the day (which I know is a good sign) but the gagging has started and feeling sick all the time. My usually lovely cup of tea tastes like dishwater this morning Angry

Shwighty1 · 31/01/2017 08:23

I always said last time the random insomnia was like your bodies way of preparing you for a new born and getting you used to sleep deprivation. Now I just think my body is being an asshole as I have already suffered the horror of a newborn so don't need reminding quite so much!!

OkyDoke · 31/01/2017 08:41

Thanks everyone, I finally relented and took paracetamol which sorted me out just fine! The forehead stick didn't work for me yesterday which it normally does. Good point about the caffeine though, I didn't have a cup of tea yesterday and I normally have one 'real' cup with a bunch of decaff so will make sure to have a real one today!

I'm waking up at least once a night now and just generally struggling to sleep really! Maybe TMI but when I get up for a wee, they are the most rubbish little trickle, it makes me so disappointed haha, but I feel like I'm bursting!

MrsY87 · 31/01/2017 09:01

Sorry so many of you are struggling with rubbish sleep too but makes me feel a bit better that I'm not alone! I'm almost willing my DD to wake up early so at least I have some company! Hope everyone has a good day Smile

EssentialHummus · 31/01/2017 09:27

oky same here on the disappointing wees Grin

I haven't woken up early this week (am now 8 + 4 I think) but until last week was waking up randomly in the middle of the night.

Hope everyone is doing well this morning.

Lules · 31/01/2017 09:53

DS decided to be awake between midnight and fucking 4.30am. I have no idea why he thought this was playtime. I'm like a zombie today.

Shwighty1 · 31/01/2017 10:37

lules same here tho ds has developed a really bad cough and ended up in our bed then his nappy leaked gaaaaah! So needless to say we're off having a movie day

Eevee77 · 31/01/2017 11:16

Things are over for me now, I'm sad to say. I wish you all the very best and hope you all have wonderful, healthy pregnancies

Gingerbreadmam · 31/01/2017 11:20
