Back from the US the other day (rather unwell on the plane back as the high winds in Dublin made landing a b*^tardit made me so grateful I haven't got MS!). We told the ILs and SIL tonightSIL cried via Skype, she was so happy! Also told my direct line managers (they job share) for H&S reasons, as I get dizzy if I'm standing too long (and I normally stand all day). They also proclaimed themselves delighted for me, which is so kind
That's it, everyone else waits for 12 weeks.
Lovely to hear all the positive scan news!!! I haven't got a booking letter yet for the 12 week scan, but it should be sometime in the 3rd week of Feb if they manage to run on time; apparently they're "a bit behind" so it could be a week later. I'm American (originally) so I'm just amazed at how it's all freeeeeee! Having a baby in the US, normal pregnancy and normal birth, costs many thousands of dollars if you're uninsured and many hundreds in deductibles if you are insured. Some hospitals charge you a fee to cuddle the baby, no word of a lie! Thanking my lucky stars and trying to wait patiently for 12 weeks...
Also London, are you sure that's not my mother you're talking about? The one who left both of her daughters distraught and crying on their respective wedding days? And who a week ago talked all about how my brothers were circumcised at birth in front of my Northern Irish DH, then asked DH "do they do that over there too?" "Er, not by default, no." So now poor DH and both my brothers know the state of each others' Williams... I feel for you, in short! Just under-share if you can is my advice--like there's NOT A CHANCE she's getting to hear the baby name choices before it's a done deal. Nope.
