Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

I just finished my first day back, absolutely exhausting. Plus I'm in a job where productivity is monitored - how can i explain it?!

Nausea has started here, the last few evenings, not unbearable and a nice reassurance.

I did another test this morning too, really quick and strong second line.

Good luck to all those going back to work, you can do it!

MouseLove · 03/01/2017 08:29

Oh my word. First day back too. Are waaay too much buffet over the last few weeks and now I look 6 months gone. I hope people don't ask hahahaha. I'm planning on keeping going to the gym and eating healthy so I might lose a bit before I start ballooning (which I know will happen)

How are all your poppy seeds / peppercorns? 😊

Amz26 · 03/01/2017 08:36

Hi ladies, can I join this thread?

I got my BFP a few days after Xmas.. After only being off the pill since the 1st December.. So shocked was an understatement 😀

macca- I had the same thing a few days ago and my doctor told me if very common for this to happened even after getting your BFP! He said the egg is just getting comfy 😀 He said you only need to worry if you have lots of symptoms eg.. Severe pains, feeling unwell, dizzy, a lot of bleeding!

I know it's so hard not to worry but if going to see the doctor makes you feel better book an appointment X

Amz26 · 03/01/2017 08:43

It's my first day back to work and I'm really nervous my boss will notice!! I'm a nanny so i have a different sort of relationship with my boss 😁

Mouse- so happy you got your BFP as I think you were the first person I spoke to on NM 😀 I'm a crazy gym goer too but am a little scared ATM to train.. Think I will go back today tho :) X

Amz26 · 03/01/2017 10:08

I meant to say MN 🙈

Shwighty1 · 03/01/2017 10:12

Same here nw I'm working from thankfully so I'm going to fit in a nap somewhere!

Kskifred · 03/01/2017 10:22

Hey ladies!

Hurrah - I can't believe I'm on the antenatal thread at last!
EDD 14th September according to FF.

Symptoms to include slight nausea and balls of fire AKA boobies - they normally don't have any sensitivity and didn't with previous pregnancy either. This will be number 2, have DS who is 2.8

Sooo excited though!

FXSkip · 03/01/2017 10:39

London apparently its really good to dtd throughout pregnancy as it tones the perineum and pelvic floor....not that I'd use that to seduce DH mind you!

Kskifred · 03/01/2017 11:19

Haha nothing sexier than perineum toning! Wink

Londonexhile · 03/01/2017 11:31

Haha FX - will bear that in mind!!

How is everyone getting on with work? I'm sure people can read it on my face! Dying to talk to someone about it but we have decided to keep it just between us until the end of Jan at least - we might look to have a private early scan around then for reassurance.

Has anyone booked in with their gp / midwife yet? Or is it far too early??

POAS again this morning...still pregnant!!

2plus1plusL1 · 03/01/2017 11:41

I'm back at work too. Won't be telling anyone until I've had 12week scan.

Slightly concerned as I used CB digi this morning and it's still showing 2-3weeks but I'm more than 5 weeks now so should surely be showing 3+. Trying not to worry but I am!

Amz26 · 03/01/2017 11:51

London- I've got a GP appointment on the 11th as I called up when I found out and they like to see their mums to be as soon as possible really.. Think I should be around 6 weeks then :)
Will the end of Jan make you 10weeks then?
2plus- I know it's hard but try not to worry I've read before that's the clear blue digitals can give different readings and they're not always right X

Travelgeek · 03/01/2017 12:00

Hi everyone!

May I join you all?

I'm 4 1and due 11 September. This will be our first. It's all happened a lot quicker than expected!

I suspected before my BFPs on 31st and 2nd (stronger) because I've been nauseous since a week after O. No being physically sick yet thankfully, though I'm sure that will come.

I also think the dog knows, she's sticking to me like glue!

Called the docs this morning and said I thought I just needed to make an appointment with the midwife but they said I have to see the gp first for a referral so that will be a week today.

I'm trying to not worry about the twinges as they are predominantly on my left side but no spotting or anything else so I don't think it's ectopic.

Rather distracted on my first day back in work!

Hope you are all feeling OK!

Travelgeek · 03/01/2017 12:03

Should be "4 1"!

MummyNotMommy · 03/01/2017 12:21

Congrats to all on the BFPs!

I'll join as well if that's ok. Got my BFP a few days ago, due date around 9th September.
Feeling fine so far, a bit more tired than usual maybe. Think I was about 6 weeks with DS before I felt sick. Hopefully not at all this time!

My biggest concern is how the hell I'm going to manage with two! DS will have just turned 2 when this one arrives and he's a lively one!

Pumpkinhead16 · 03/01/2017 13:41

travelgeek I had those pains in the same place too but no spotting and nothing else to indicate anything might be wrong so am just putting it down to a normal symptom of pregnancy! Congrats! X

MouseLove · 03/01/2017 16:05

Well I grossly underestimated the amount of food I'd need to eat today to not feel STARVING. I've got such a belly already I don't want to balloon. I blame the buffets.

Shwighty1 · 03/01/2017 16:05

I've booked in with the midwife for the 23rd, my dog already knows too travelgeek she is snuffling into my side a lot and hovering nearby which is rather unusual!

Well I've survived 1st day back even had a 15 minute nap (benefit of working from home!!)

Hope you've all survived the day!!

newbiejourney · 03/01/2017 16:20

Hi everyone, is it ok to join?

I got my BFP last week - it was a complete shock, took a test as a I had spare, just to check I was good to go with drinking on NYE and there was a line! 4 more tests later (including 2 digital ones) and I still can't believe it!

Due date will be around the 9th September, this will be my first so completely new to it all and trying not to drive myself insane by worrying about every little thing. No symptoms so far apart from sore boobs and a little bit of cramping (which reading up on I'm thinking is pretty normal).

I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts on exercising during these early stages are? I love going to the gym and still want to continue whilst I'm feeling up to it. Any advice on what exercises particular to avoid? I normally do HIIT and weight training. Thanks all!

Shwighty1 · 03/01/2017 16:29

If you're used to exercising there's no need to stop anything I think? I stayed really active thro my last pregnancy even went on a 4 mile hike before going into labour with that ds!!

Amz26 · 03/01/2017 16:36

Newie- I've been doing a lot of reading up on going to the gym.. It's very safe to carry on training during our whole pregnancy! I'm just so tired ATM so I'm finding it hard to go today after a 12 hour day running after the kids at work 😁 I usually weight train and when I'm not so tired I will Defo be hitting the weights, maybe not as heavy tho X

Amz26 · 03/01/2017 16:38

meant to write newbie

MouseLove · 03/01/2017 16:39

Newbie I'd speak to your doc as your exercises sound quite borderline. They prefer you to do soft cardio in your first trimester. I plan on doing the bike, and walking uphill on the treadmill and not pushing myself too much. I don't think I'll do xtrainer or weights at this stage. I don't want to risk it at all.

Just booked my midwife appointment. Shit just got real. I'll be 8+4. Seeing my doc the week before to double check everything is ok with all my other health issues. Nervous!!

Kskifred · 03/01/2017 16:56

I've just been playing around with calendar and dates - providing EDD is correct my 20 week mark lands on DS birthday Smile

Amz26 · 03/01/2017 16:58

Aww lovely.. Will you want to find out the sex of the baby? ks X
