Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

Hi all,
Glad the scan went well noone
I'm also going to stick to mn as feel odd about revealing stuff on fb, so I'm glad there'll be a few of us around.
Pink bottle asked about how OH's have been and last night me and dh had a row about how I was 'dealing with' this pregnancy. He's been stressed at work, last year we had a big move and we have a dad already (2.5), and my friends have all had losses in the past so I think he can't get his head around why I would be excited so early on... I think I'm being very level-headed!! But I guess he's the only person I talk to and as everything to do with healthcare here is new to us I have had a lot of questions... Anyway I hope he'll be on board if things progress well and I get past the scary part

flymo79 · 19/01/2017 02:41

Dd not dad!!

calimommy · 19/01/2017 03:35

flymo79 I think your right. I'm very sedate about this pregnancy as I've had losses. I constantly think about the next scan but I'm not thinking about a baby yet because it's easier not to. The other times I was already thinking (to myself not others) about more buggies, car seats, bigger car??, names?, birthdays, etc only to be left back where I started. So yeah, I'm very much wait and see about this one. Plus I'm fecking exhausted at the moment. Getting 3hrs average sleep per night as my two are sick. But before that they were badly jet lagged so it was 2am breakfasts. 🙄 I love my routine. I need it.

Fluffywallow · 19/01/2017 05:22

Busy busy thread!!! I'm up at 5am reading back Grin. Flipping anxiety means once I'm awake I'm awake which is no good really - struggling so much to be rational about this pregnancy for some reason, desperate for my scan next week.

One of my biggest worries is my symptoms seem to fluctuate, some days are bad some days it's pretty ok. I don't remember this last time...im sure it was just constantly bad. But I guess it was 3 years ago so maybe I'm mid-remembering.

I'll also be staying on mn as like someone else said, knowing my luck I probably know someone else on here!

Amz one of my friends said it felt like she was 'violated' when she/anyone else touched her belly button in pregnancy...like a really awkward sensitive feeling. But not painful. Went away when she had her babies (twins, but I don't think that's relevant Wink)

MrsK8541 · 19/01/2017 06:49

Amz I've also got the sensitive belly button. I usually get it as my main symptom of ovulation so I'm not sure why it's sore now!

piraterach · 19/01/2017 07:21

Hi
Am I ok to join? It seems like I'm a lot further behind everyone (but it's handy to see what might be coming in the next few weeks).
I'm currently 4+4 so v v early. EDD is 26th September. Grin
I've tried catching up on this thread but it's sooooo big! Shock
Wishing everyone well x

Fluffywallow · 19/01/2017 07:40

Hi pirate! Think there's are wide range of weeks on here...I'm technically 9 weeks tomorrow but I'm sure it's actually 8. Edd somewhere between 2-8th sept. I've seen a few newbies the past few days due the end of the month though so you are most certainly not alone!

How are you feeling?

Fluffywallow · 19/01/2017 07:42

I'm getting ahead of myself - technically 8 weeks tomorrow but sure it's 7!!

piraterach · 19/01/2017 07:59

Hi fluffy thanks for the welcome! I'm trying so hard not to tell people so it's great to have people to talk to.

I've got really sore boobs ATM and some cramping but other than that I'm doing good. How's everyone else coping with symptoms? Smile

Tilly2017 · 19/01/2017 08:22

Pink bottle and flymo79 I can relate as my DP and I had quite a rough night of arguments lady night. He keeps bringing up stuff from my past ie previous partners even before he was even around! So last night I just had enough and snapped back.... ended up with me threatening to leave and even went and slept on the sofa..... he's doing my head in and I guess I'm now questionin my relationship even though I love him but I just can't stand it anymore as it's not the first time..... so on my way to work looking like a mess with a whole four hours sleep!

Sorry ladies just needed to rant I think

Shwighty1 · 19/01/2017 08:34

My dh was a real miserable worrier last time and pregnancy hormones really made me worry about he and I, we'd never really had problems before. I subsequently told him he ruined my pregnancy by being a miserable git. So this time thankfully he's a lot more chipper! The point of this tho is to just be aware that hormones can be raging at all times. Try not to make too many drastic decisions unless of course the context goes beyond these times and if it's your first he may be really apprehensive about this massive step you're about to take.

If you've already got kids and the same is happening again then I recommend a swift sharp kick in the balls!!

Lules · 19/01/2017 08:58

Morning all! pirate that's the same date as me! No symptoms yet apart from feeling a bit tired. Was up last night with a vomiting toddler (joy) but as I went to sleep at 8.30 (!) I feel fine. Sorry to hear your partner is being useless Tilly

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 19/01/2017 09:34

Fluffywallow Funnily enough up thread I mentioned exactly that re fluctuating symptoms - it was worrying me as last time I just felt shit for 3 months solid.
My booking in appt was yesterday and I asked MW about it and she said pay no attention to the man behind the curtain symptoms, the only cause for concern is bleeding and pain. She said the symptoms often fluctuate as the levels of hormones change.
I hope this makes you feel a bit calmer a bit that aspect of it all. Flowers

TriJo · 19/01/2017 09:35

Can't seem to edit the spreadsheet!

Great to see a whole pile of ye in London and even one Dub! :)

Kskifred · 19/01/2017 10:07

EnvyEnvyEnvy god i feel so queasy but can't be sick which i feel would give me some relief, the only time i feel better is whilst i'm eating. Constantly belching too even on empty stomach, got the nose of a bloodhound and only 6 weeks, help meeeee Confused

Anyone tried those acupressure sickness bands? Need to find something as at this rate i will be a whale again by 2nd trimester.

oliversmummy26 · 19/01/2017 10:34

kskifred I am exactly the same, constant all day nausea at the moment. I have some sea sickness bands, I'm not sure they're really helping, just taking the edge off. I've started chewing gum when I'm not eating though which seems to help as I only feel better when I'm eating...might be worth a try?

I've started us a new thread, as I think you can only have 1000 messages and we're pretty close to that now...

Hello everyone,
This is my first time posting on any board!

oliversmummy26 · 19/01/2017 10:53

Welcome grewia sorry to hear about your mc, there are several of us on here with bfps after mcs so you're not alone Flowers
Come and join us on the #2 board where there's also a link to an editable spreadsheet you can add your stats to Smile

totallyLosingIt · 19/01/2017 10:53

I have just added a few people to the spreadsheet, pinkandwhite, grewia (welcome, same due date as us Smile ) and puttingourhoodupdown before we move over to the next thread.

The link I added above had something funny in the link that prevented editing, but you can edit it here - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1J18uANJT1IhSj6WC8bG3FY9hInjHqsNXOCRBHEZwjJM/edit#gid=0

littlepooch · 19/01/2017 12:14

Another one with constant nausea and retching at the moment. Im so relieved I work from home, I don't think I could cope with the tube right now. I remember with DD the tube and the various smells made me so sick. I'm also so bloated and sore. Ugh.

I'm fairly sure I'm going to show a lot earlier this time round. I need to try and keep it under wraps as I really don't want to have to tell work I may be off on mat leave so soon when I've only just gone back!! Blush

pinkandwhite I'm in SW London - lovely part of london to live in (if not quite as hot and sunny as the Cayman Islands!)

Frillyhorseyknickers · 19/01/2017 12:27

Hello! Please can I join in as a total Mumsnet newb?!

My OH and I both know, but so far that is it. I am completely not the maternal type and for the last few years have lived, breathed, slept for my career. I am so looking forwards to a baby and a new focus, although I'm terrified of a loss and everything else that comes - I have no idea what I'm doing!!

Age: 27
Baby: 1
Due date: 19th September
Status: Married
Fur babies: My beautiful golden retriever and a string of 6 fit horses to ride!
Location: East Mids
Finding out the Sex? Big fat surprise

roobois · 19/01/2017 12:51

Anyone else struggling at work? I work in sales and I'm finding it really hard over the last two weeks. So tired, sick and constant headache I've not been able to make sales and feel like I'm falling apart. Not a good week. It's really hard this baby making business I really hope it gets easier

littlepooch · 19/01/2017 13:01

A new thread has been started as this one is nearly full! Didn't want anyone to miss it. I can't link on the app annoyingly.

Amz26 · 19/01/2017 13:11

Fluffywallow Oh that would be great! I've always wanted twins :) I doubt it tho! Would be lovely tho :)
How exciting you've got your scan next week, I'm thinking of booking one too :)

MrsK8541 I'm glad I'm not the only one! It's probably just because our stomachs are getting a little bigger and making room for the baby to grow... Well that's my guess anyway and I haven't read anything bad online so I'm just going to take it as a strange symptom!

oliversmummy26 Thanks for starting the new thread :)

roobois I'm finding it quite hard as well, my job is very physical so I'm exhausted by the end of the day. Sales is a very busy job as well as my sister-in-law does it and she says she found it hard when she was pregnant too!
