Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

Lily think I'm going to have to take paracetamol also - my sinuses are killing me. I would love to go to bed but that makes my head feel worse.
Yep the nauseous has started too.

Nw I know how you feel! I'm just back from meeting a friend I really wanted to tell her but somehow kept it to myself.
Im sure she is thinking something is up as I am feeling awful and I'm looking it!

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 02/01/2017 16:22

I've had nausea for about 4/5 days now and it's no fun, I had it all last pg til end if 1st tri but I'd keep reminding myself that at least it isn't all day vomiting like my friend had - 20 times a day until 24 weeks!!! Shock
So I'm happy with just nausea.

I'm also having the annoying don't-want-anything-to-eat-but-I'm-ravenous feelings, needing to nap all day, plus the want-to-stab-DH urges. Good news is these ended when DD was about 8months old so I've not got long to wait Grin

laurenmumtobe · 02/01/2017 17:44

Hello all! I'm due 2nd September with my first, so 5 and a bit weeks in. Still hasn't sunk in even though I found out a couple of weeks ago. Thinking to tell parents soon just so I can talk to my mum about it- don't think I can keep quiet much longer! Already feeling a bit crappy and very tired- hope it doesn't last!

laurenmarie88 · 02/01/2017 17:46

Yes I'm so bad just want to sleep but I can't I really have no energy and I'm usually full of make up and dressed up but can't even be bothered to shave ATM haha

Nw85 · 02/01/2017 18:07

How am I supposed to work ten hours tomorrow without a nap? 😂

laurenmarie88 · 02/01/2017 18:13

Unless I'm eating I feel sick !!!! Where do you all live ?

ADuckNamedSplash · 02/01/2017 18:24

Hi to everyone new!

Flowers to those of you suffering nausea (or worse!). I've only had a couple of mild waves of it so far - however the fatigue has hit me now. It took me a good couple of hours between waking and dragging myself out of bed this morning - getting up for work tomorrow is going to be fun...

I'm in the south east.

Nw85 · 02/01/2017 18:53

I honestly can't stop eating, if I do I feel sick :-/

laurenmarie88 · 02/01/2017 18:55

Me to NW and nothing tastes the same anymore :( I'm sat here eating tea and feeling like I'm going to puke! I'm in southport

mummyin2017 · 02/01/2017 18:58

Hi everyone,

Just joining this thread as I found out I'm pregnant on 23rd December 😊 due on September the 2nd.

Im thinking of having an early pregnancy scan. When I'm around 8 weeks pregnant. Is anyone else having one?

Already have a 9 year old so quite a big age gap for us!

Looking forward to following your stories. xx

londonfeather · 02/01/2017 19:14

Oh no, can't believe how many people are feeling nauseous already. I've been sick all day and haven't been able to hold down a glass of water.. but I'm so thirsty so it's torture! My DH had a sickness bug over new year and I'm really hoping I'm ill with that (a sentence I never thought I'd say!), rather than this being an indicator of what is to come! I won't be able to work!!!! Fingers crossed tomorrow I'll be able to have a drink at least.

I'm in SW London but DH if from Yorkshire so we are up North a lot!

Hope the nausea is subsiding for you all!

Stopdropnroll · 02/01/2017 19:29

Can I join please. Second DC due 4th Sept (I think, not 100% on my dates). I was very lucky to have a very smooth first pregnancy so I'm convinced this one will be awful!

lucylou1234 · 02/01/2017 20:07

Hey guys, been off this over the festive period - congratulations ladies!

Ive already had and early scan which showed little bean measuring 4+5 . Had been getting a sharp i tense pain in my right side so they were wantig to make sure it wasnt ectopic.

Also had blood done. 4+5 hcg was 2000. had them done again n was looking for at least a 60% increase and the came back 5232 :) All good signs. They want to do another scan at 7 weeks as should hopefully see a heartbeat then :)

HellsBellsK · 02/01/2017 20:22

Ah Lucy thats great that you got to see you little bean - hope the pain is easing up!

We are in Dublin, so few things are a bit different with meeting the midwife/doctor etc.

Gingerbreadmam · 02/01/2017 20:49

Congratulations everyone!

I got my bfp new years eve. This is my third pregnancy but no living dc so far. Had mmc nov 2014 and pfb stillborn july 2015 so im very nervous.

No real symptoms just achey period pains but im only 4+2 so not worried. Saying that i do keep gettinf waves of nausea tonight and am nackered but could be psychological ha!

Hope everyone is well.

Stalingrad · 02/01/2017 21:43

Welcome all new joiners.

Gingerbreadman - I am sorry to hear about your pregnancy history. I really hope this pregnancy is plain sailing for you.

I told my closest group of friends today. They are mainly women who I met just after I had DC1 ten and a half years ago. They are all so far past the baby years and they did not know what to say. It's certainly a different reaction you get when you tell people about number four compared to 1-3!

lucylou1234 · 02/01/2017 21:46

thanks hellsbells, pain not been so intense just stretchy kind of feeling.

gingerbreadam so sorry for your losses i hope all works out well for you this time xxx

Anyone know whens best to book first midwife appointment? Everyones asking me when i booked in but being only 5 weeks i figured it's too early? I'm guessing theres no particular rush considering i have a scan at weeks. Guess i really don't want to book an appointment to then have to cancel it :(

Londonexhile · 02/01/2017 21:47

Hi everyone, can I join? I recognise some people from other threads where I've either posted or lurked!!

Got my BFP today on cycle 3 - it'll be our first baby! DH very excited (mostly that "his swimmers work" Hmm!).

I'm shocked we managed to conceive so quickly & super paranoid!! No real symptoms - had a feeling this was our lucky month as I've been having twinges since ovulation but had 3 BFN up until today (1 day after AF due!).

Still getting twinges - is that normal? Plus my boobs are massive!! Also, dog has become glued to me - very odd, he's usually much more interested in DH.

NHS calc put our due date at 9/9. I'm in Kent so I think there's only really one hospital nearby. Anyone have any experience of the William Harvey hospital?

Gingerbreadmam · 02/01/2017 21:55

Thank you, me too! Bit of a shock tbh only came off pill end of october and im over weight so thought i would have time to do something about it. Woops.

I think booking in is usually 8 or 10 weeks sometimes they do an early bird appointment with communitu mws then booking i at 10 and scan at 12.

WhiteLily86 · 02/01/2017 22:05

Haha londonexhile glad it is not just my DH swanning around thinking he has superswimmers!

Find myself googling everything already....today I found out my favourite think is maybe not the best - super hot baths Angry. And here was me thinking that it would help as I would be lovely and relaxed Blush.

Londonexhile · 02/01/2017 22:51

What's the view on carrying on DTD? I think it's fine...my DH thinks he might damage the bean...or poppy seed according to the NHS website!!

Shwighty1 · 02/01/2017 23:52

Really london? No chance of any damage at any point, he has a free pass of no contraception required for the next 9 months! And when it's your due date and you want that baby out its his sperm that will get that baby out too!

I'm North West too based on the cheshire/staffs/shropshire border.

Nw85 · 03/01/2017 06:57

First day back at work... please someone kill me.

mummyin2017 · 03/01/2017 08:16

Me too NW85, I want to stay in my little pregnancy bubble 😀
