Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

Also I am sooooooooooooooooooooo unbelievably fed up of waiting for stuff to happen already! DH is one of those people who until something is a few weeks away can put it out of his mind and forget about it until then, so useless chatting to him. He said yesterday, "so when is this baby due then?" I said September and he goes, "bloody hell that's ages away!" He is definitely excited, but happy to wait to show it and find out more..I think when we've had a scan and I have a bump and he feels the baby move for the first time, then he'll be excited...

But I really can't wait! I want a scan and I want to be further along and feel so much more reassured that things are looking good..Angry

Morning all & hello to the newbies! Still no symptoms my end but I am only 4 weeks or so. Tbf I didn't have many symptoms with DD apart from feeling a little sickly in the mornings & heightened sense of smell but I think they came later in the first trimester.

I think we will find out the gender this time but I think we will keep in to ourselves if possible. We didn't find out with DD and I loved the surprise but I think I'd like to know this time. My group from last time are still super chatty on Facebook so that's been lovely, especially now our babies are approaching 3!!!

EssentialHummus · 18/01/2017 10:47

n0ne fingers crossed for you love.

puttingourhoodupdown · 18/01/2017 10:54

Eugh the waiting....I'm with you olivers, I love planning and getting excited..... DH will probably start thinking about the baby at the start of September.... Last time we only started discussing names together when I was in labour Hmm. Thankfully DD was a girl and we both loved the same name.....we still didn't have an agreed boy name.

I'm much more anxious this pg after a MC. When I was pregnant the first time I was just kind of oblivious to it possibly going wrong, I'm super aware this time...that's why I think I'll have an early scan

oliversmummy26 · 18/01/2017 11:16

hoodup I was exactly the same with DS, didn't for one minute think anything could go wrong and now that I've experienced a mmc I'm terrified of the 12 week scan, it seems like such a long time to wait!

littlepooch · 18/01/2017 11:32

Hello all! Still feeling sick here and drinking weak lemon squash - all I can face. I work from home so I'm tempted to have a nap at lunch time as I'm so tired. Is anyone else really feeling the cold? I just can't get warm!

n0ne good luck for your scan. Hope all is well.

I am another one who will have their hands full as DD will be 21 months when this little one arrives. I am thinking she will continue doing a few mornings a week at nursery to give her some routine, see her friends and have some play time and also give me some breathing space.

I think flying is fine, it's only in the later stages you need doctors notes etc but I think it's because they don't want the risk of someone going into labour mid air!

littlepooch · 18/01/2017 11:34

Oh and welcome to all the new people! This is going to be a busy bus. I found my MN ante natal group from when I had DD an absolute godsend and we are still all very much active on our Facebook group and have met up quite often when we were on mat leave. It's great to have this support network.

totallyLosingIt · 18/01/2017 11:35

Good luck today n0ne I hope the scan goes well for you.

Vitamins... Pregnacare Original are 3 for £10 in Asda at the minute (so 3 months worth). Their Pregnacare Plus are £10 for 1 month too, Biscotti.

WhiteLily86 · 18/01/2017 11:56

Good luck n0ne I will be thinking about you.

Little pooch - yes absolutely FREEZING!! And normally my remedy is a nice steaming hot bath ha!

Hot water bottle is a godsend, shame it might be frowned upon in the office!

MouseLove · 18/01/2017 11:57

Has anyone told other people yet? I keep going back and forth about telling my parents. Kinda like the secret at the moment.

batfish · 18/01/2017 12:09

GlennRheeismyfavourite you asked about fave things about having a child. Well before I had my first (and currently only) I was never into children at all, I found them quite annoying and dull. But I thought I might regret not having kids. Worried through the whole pregnancy that I might then regret having kids and that I just wouldn't enjoy being a mum. I used to think that people who said things like 'oooh my little girl is so clever, she just waved' - like nobody has ever waved before. Everybody walks, right? What's so exciting. Well it turns out when it's your child it really is exciting - to you they are the most awesome, intelligent, cute, funny creature that ever walked this earth and you can spend hours just watching them. When he was a newborn I never 'napped when he napped' which is what everyone advises because I just couldn't take my eyes off him long enough to close them. I never ever thought I would be this person. But then I do have the most awesome child in the whole world so it's hard not to be haha. Not everyone bonds immediately but I don't know anyone who doesn't think their child is just the best thing ever.

TotTickle I flew a couple of times last time in my first trimester and in 2nd and 3rd too - no issues. It is fine to fly unless you have been advised against it by a doctor for any particular reason. Just drink plenty of water and try to wander around a bit.

Pinkandwhite · 18/01/2017 12:17

n0one, I'm here for hand holding. How many weeks are you? I hope it's a really good scan and you see everything is as it should be.

oliversmummy26 · 18/01/2017 12:22

n0ne just seen your message, lots of luck for you scan in an hour, try to stay positive, there is no reason why this pregnancy shouldn't sail through everything, so holding hands and we're here if you need us.
Let us know how you get on..

batfish · 18/01/2017 12:39

n0ne keeping everything crossed for you that this will be a very different outcome to your last scan

PerpetualStudent · 18/01/2017 12:45

Thinking of you n0ne I had an early mc before my DS in 2014, so went for an early scan with him - have never been so sick with nerves in my life! Hope all's well for you Flowers

sherbertlemon17 · 18/01/2017 13:02

Thinking of you no0ne Flowers

Almondbiscotti · 18/01/2017 13:13

Thanks Mouselove and Totallylosingit.

Best of luck no0one.

I think i have developed metallic taste. Apologies if its tmi - does it taste like when you have a horrible bug sometimes or had a filling?

Lules · 18/01/2017 13:23

Hi can I join you? Just found out this morning so still processing it all. Due date will be something like 26th Sept so I'm 4 weeks now. Second pregnancy- I have a 16 month old too so life's going to be busy!

batfish · 18/01/2017 13:35

Hi Lules congratulations! I found out 2 days ago and completely don't believe it. I have a 15 month old already - we must be mad!

TriJo · 18/01/2017 13:58

Lules and batfish - think of how I feel with a 9.5 month old...

Fluffywallow · 18/01/2017 13:59

N0ne thinking of you, hope it goes really really well.

Tried my sea sickness bands for the first time today and felt better than I have in days. Taken them off now (as home from work) and almost instantly felt sicker. Don't know how much of it's in my head but who cares if it works!

Time is going so impossibly slowly. I swear weeks feel like years at the moment!

batfish · 18/01/2017 14:07

Oh wow TriJo! If it helps - my friend gave birth when her little girl was only 19 months and her husband is barely involved (he lives with them but just a bit useless) and she is managing pretty well. She puts her older girl into nursery 3 mornings per week which helps.

I don't have any symptoms whatsoever at the moment but I didn't with my first pregnancy other than really sore boobs. I had a very easy first pregnancy so I'm worried I won't be so lucky this time around - a friend of mine had a mega easy first then hellish second! Sorry to all of you who are feeling sick, I get very easily travel sick and it's an awful feeling. My grandma was a midwife and her advice was always to eat something in bed in the morning before you even put your feet on the floor - biscuits or crackers or something like that.

n0ne · 18/01/2017 14:11

It was fine! Saw the heartbeat straight away - I was really surprised. Revised EDD based off measurements is 6w5d. I've lost a week but I was expecting that, my cycles can be 40 days sometimes! Man, what a relief.

Almondbiscotti · 18/01/2017 14:13

Ah phew NOne you must be relieved! Xx

Lules · 18/01/2017 14:16

Thank you! I'm hoping I have an easier pregnancy this time. I had HG last time and was sick the entire time. It's already more straightforward. By this time I'd had bleeding and cramping and was initially told the pregnancy was 'of uncertain location' so this is much better so far!
