Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

Welcome to all the newbies.. This is such a busy thread!!

Im sorry to hear you're having a hard time Pinkbottletop

Hummus I have gone off food a lot to be honest but I'm obsessed with tomato soup and crusty white bread with lots of butter (yummy)

I'm 6weeks tomorrow and I feel awful ATM.. I have a UTI and virus infection and I feel sick all the time.. Plus my boss is at home so I have to keep myself busy and can't really take it easy!

How is everyone else feeling xx

EssentialHummus · 12/01/2017 13:52

amz the only food I want to eat is stir-fried veg with mushrooms. I'm having it daily and have sent DH out for more. This child is going to come out Chinese at this rate Grin

Still waking up at all hours.

Sorry you're feeling meh Flowers

EssentialHummus · 12/01/2017 13:53

And it's not even that healthy by the time I'm done with it!

Pinkbottletop · 12/01/2017 14:33

I never really appreciated how hard these first 3 months are because it's probably when you feel most rotten but you can't really talk about it! My attention span is next to nothing and I feel sick and bloated and tired, but can't tell my boss or colleagues. Can't wear a BOB badge while I'm commuting incase someone from work is on my train (which happens often)

Kskifred · 12/01/2017 15:11

sperm not speed!

MouseLove · 12/01/2017 15:14

How is everyone today?

MaybeTimeNow · 12/01/2017 15:41

Finally got a letter through from my midwife, but no appointment... just a note to say she'll call and standard information. At least I know my name hasn't been buried in a pile somewhere.

I'm also feeling awfully nauseous and have gone off of tea and coffee completely which is unheard of. September is going to be a busy old month isn't it!

guigirl14 · 12/01/2017 15:57

Pinkbottletop the commute BOB thing is awkward. I had to ask someone for a seat yesterday as was feeling so dizzy and they challenged me as to why I didn't have a badge!! I don't want work people seeing me wear it but am going to carry one to avoid that happening again. Last thing I needed was someone having a go when I had asked politely and felt ill as.

WhiteLily86 · 12/01/2017 16:01

Great idea! Taking our mind off of it all.

I had a neg result on Xmas day that I didn't tell him about (he is para about these things). Then when AF was due I was full of the cold and he took the dog out, I raced to toilet. Crazy wait, was not 3 mins!!! With that infuriating little timer....!

Longest wait for him to come home, wondering if he had lost the dog Hmm even had time to set up my phone to film his reaction. He just stood with his mouth open for about 3 mins, then thought I was joking. Then proceeded to get excited about his superswimmers!!

I am really lacking in the symptoms! Spotting has completely stopped which is great. Wake up before my alarm which is unusual, but still v tired. Crazy dreams are getting ridiculous, maybe slight changes in mood.

Boobs - same
Appetite - same
Sickness - none, slight sick feeling one or two days
Emotions - same

Is it bad to want to feel sick!?
Confused

Pinkbottletop · 12/01/2017 16:19

guigirl that is awful that you were challenged! As if someone would make up being pregnant to get a seat. What a joke. I've ordered mine, so perhaps will keep it in my bag and put it in when I need to. Just have to remember to take the darn thing off.

whitelily if I didn't have symptoms I'd want them too. As annoying as my symptoms are, they're strangely reassuring. The worst is the bloated feeling though.

EssentialHummus · 12/01/2017 16:47

gui that's terrible. I hope these cheer you up.

Thanks.. I'm just feeling sorry for myself haha.. I told my OH I don't want to work anymore and he told me to play the lottery haha!!
I love stir-fry veg might have to give that a go hummus

guigirl that is so bad that you were challenged!

Pinkbottletop- That's what I'm worried I'll do.. Leave it on, and when I go to pick the kids up from school they'll see it and tell their parents!! Last thing we need work finding out sooner than we want them too X

oliversmummy26 · 12/01/2017 17:07

Almost done with work for the day (about bloody time!) and DS and I have decided we're having fish fingers sandwiches for tea - yum!

totallyLosingIt · 12/01/2017 17:24

I'm the same with the lack of ability to focus. I feel so much guilt for work at the minute as I'm not doing anywhere near as much as I should be.

I'm trying my best to eat healthily (don't have ms or nausea so no excuse). Burgers are constantly on my mind though, and I even dream about being in a McDonald's queue that doesn't seem to be moving so I never get my food. I could murder a double cheeseburger. Might have to just bite the bullet tomorrow.

Who has told family? When do you plan to/did you tell them? I think we are going to tell close family next weekend (7 weeks ish). It's still early days, but we're both struggling not to let slip by mistake and I feel it will be easier/time won't drip by like it currently is if I can talk about things with my family!

MrsK8541 · 12/01/2017 17:38

I caved and had a McDonald's last night, it was the best decision I made all day!

We've told my parents as I was suffering with sickness at the weekend but was also clearly not poorly with a bug! I think they would have guessed had we not told them anyway.

Gingerbreadmam · 12/01/2017 17:38

lily i'm similar. 5+6 and i would say my symptoms are pretty mild to the point i think they could be psychological or me clinging onto straws. Time will tell!

We told my parents day we found out which happened to be nye. Then they got pissed and told guests which were hopefully so pissed they forgot then dp told his dsis nye too and we finally told his df and dsm a few days later. He drunkenly told his best friend too. I'm trying to keep it limited to that till scan but my dm probs cant help herself haha (she's harmless and will be excited).

Jaffacakes1234 · 12/01/2017 17:41

totallylosingit I've told my family and quite a few friends, kept it quiet last time I miscarried at 11 weeks and needed people to know, so they first people knew I was pregnant was telling them I no longer was, I've got 3 kids (2,4,5) and was in hospital 2 days so I figure if I miscarry again id need people to know again. Not announcing it to the world but told quite a few people/ family

Amz26 · 12/01/2017 17:43

oliversmummy26 lucky thing I'm jealous I've still got another 2hours 😩😩 fish finger sandwiches sounds good too!

totallyLosingIt- haha that sounds like a funny dream.. Probably really annoying for you tho, not ever getting to eat your food 😁 I have told quite a few people as I'm living at my mums until my house is ready in the summer so I couldn't really hide it.. Plus it gets me out of doing things at home hahah.. Some of OH's family know too as he's really close to his 3 sisters and mum.. But only really close family know X

Amz26 · 12/01/2017 17:47

Plus my bestie and trainin partner haha.. The secret is getting bigger 😂😂 I alway said I would wait until 12 weeks, but it's to much to hold in X

lucylou1234 · 12/01/2017 17:52

well yesterday and today were my first days of feeling sick. a colleague suggested digestive which worked a treat Appetite past couple days been non existant however a friendgave me a chewit and i have since went to the shop and ate 2 packets plus chocolate nutella sticks and bacon bits! feel quite guilty (not healthy) but its the most ive ate in 2 days :(

MouseLove · 12/01/2017 18:14

Funny you lot talk about wearing a badge. I had the worse commute this morning. Usually always I get a seat on the tram and this morning I didn't. Wasn't quick enough and then I had to stand. Since I suffer from bad hips and joints I was already in agony about 10 mins into the 35 mins journey. I was then subjected to everyone squeezing in around me, a drunk guy swaying about and finally a woman who sat on the end of the seat and wouldn't stand to let me sit on the inside seat so she got a face full of arse.

Can I get a badge? 😢🤔

roobois · 12/01/2017 18:40

Pink sorry didn't explain properly earlier. When I first called the doctors to ask how to arrange meeting a midwife I would told by the receptionist that I need to visit a website to register the birth and a midwife would contact me and arrange an appointment. This was the week before new year so I completed the form and have been waiting to receive a letter or phone call since. I got impatient this morning as still hadn't heard anything so called the doctors again. I spoke to a different receptionist who advise that she can book me my first appointment as they have a midwife at the surgery twice a week. So now have my first appointment on the 31st.

Travelgeek · 12/01/2017 19:50

Oh it's so good to hear others are going through the same thin with food, though I'm sorry you're all suffering too. I normally live off tea and had been diligent sticking to one cup a day but yesterday I couldn't finish it and today I just couldn't face it. Orange cordial is my new friend. I also have lost most of my usually voracious appetite, can never decide what I want to eat but have been persevering and trying to eat three healthy meals a day. Only to be rewarded by it feeling like a lead balloon in my stomach and really sick for 2 hours afterwards. That was until I bought loaf of Soreen. I have eaten the whole thing today! Oops!

guigirl14 · 12/01/2017 19:56

essentialhummus haha love it!!!

All this chat of food has got me wanting dinner for the first time in ages. Nothing as virtuous as fish fingers, I'm going to attempt a curry! And it would have been a Maccy D cheeseburger if not that, I see we have a few fans on here Wink

woodkapitan474 · 12/01/2017 20:03

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, got my BFP on Christmas morning! however its not really been smooth sailing since. Firstly the cramps have been horrible then a couple of days ago i had bleeding and was taken to hospital, luckily everything's ok, they gave me a scan and i got to see little chocolate chips (apparently the size of my baby atm) heart beat!

Luckily I've had no sickness yet but I've heard dry biscuits like crackers or digestives are great at curing it for those of that are suffering.

Good luck ladies and congratulations to all of you!
