Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

Also, I'm probably an idiot, but where is this spreadsheet found? I'm a historian, I love statistics Grin

londonfeather · 09/01/2017 13:51

The only symptom I've had is that my boobs are huge! They don't hurt, I just look like I've had a boob job! Oh and a bit tired too and not great at sleeping - no crazy dreams, which is so odd as normally I have hugely vivid dreams, pregnancy has seemed to calm them down.

Hope none of the Londoners on the thread were too put out by the tube strikes. I had a lovely scenic walk to work today... dreading the walk home!

Fffoodiemama · 09/01/2017 14:59

hi, I think I'm due 1st Sept, only found out a few days ago eek! how's everyone feeling? xSmile

ADuckNamedSplash · 09/01/2017 15:48

Had a rough few days - throwing up daily, not able to eat much Sad. I'm 5lb lighter than when I got my BFP, despite Christmas in the middle! But relatively good today - just tired - and my breasts finally feel normal again!

Just got back from my booking appointment with the midwife. All went well, except she couldn't take any blood - people struggle to get blood from me at the best of times, but she thinks I'm dehydrated from the vomiting and that made it worse. I've got another appointment in a couple of weeks for a second try. Other than that, my next appointment will be the 12 week scan - I won't see the midwife again until 16 weeks. I'll also be getting a consultant referral at some point after the 20 week scan, due to my medical history (not a big surprise).

WLMcI I dreamt about my baby last night too! It was a boy and I remember thinking, "Ah, I knew it would be a boy!" and "So much for the old wives tale that morning sickness means a girl!" DH wanted to name him Lawrence...!

Thanks Amz I think I've done it...

ADuck sorry you're suffering with the sickness, hopefully it will pass soon, though I have to say I really hope I get some this time, as I didn't before so it will be a good sign for me...don't worry I'll be ruing the day I said that soon hopefully!!

Mammamio · 09/01/2017 16:29

Hurray I'm here! 10 dpo, negative yesterday on FR and verrry feint today, but a line's a line! Fingers crossed for a sticky bean x

n0ne · 09/01/2017 16:38

Hi all! I joined as sn0wne but have reverted to my original username.

Not really any symptoms here bar the odd abdominal twinge (and a few crazy dreams but I tend to have those anyway). I didn't have any symptoms to speak of with DD this early on so not particularly worried.

Gonna call the mw tomorrow (work was too busy today). Think they'll be surprised to hear from me, third time in a year!

Slinkier · 09/01/2017 17:32

Hello everyone,
Lovely reading all your messages here and nice to know I'm not alone too!
I got my positive test on new years eve, I'm due 31st August so about six weeks now. My boobs are so uncomfy like heavy rocks!! Thought I was getting away with the nausea but this morning I felt less than great!
Anyway, for stats I'm 32, live in London, first baby, no pets...
Who else is SE London?

TeamLentil · 09/01/2017 17:56

Hello, can I move over from the August thread? I thought I was 8 weeks, had an early scan today and they estimated 6+1. We saw a heartbeat! Smile

flossie80 · 09/01/2017 18:06

Oh wow team lentil! That must have been amazing! I'm so emotional, I'm tearing up just thinking about it!

MouseLove · 09/01/2017 18:23

Hey all the newbies!! Congratulations!!!

Lentil what made you think you were 8 weeks? LMP? I'm wondering if an early scan would be worth it for me. No symptoms. Mild worrying but could probably wait till 12 weeks really. It's more so confirmation that it's actually happening.

Has anyone told their parents yet?

Amz26 · 09/01/2017 18:26

Welcome everyone new... Congratulations

How exciting teamlentil I'm really thinking about getting an early scan too 🤔 I'm really unsure tho!! I know it's prob me being silly but my tummy is so big I think I'm having twins 🙈 I know it's prob just the bloat but I didn't know this was possible X

Amz26 · 09/01/2017 18:34

Yes I told my parents mouse to be honest I didn't get the reaction I wanted :( that's why I was in tears this morning!! They both said they wanted me to be married first but I don't know why they thought I would as I never gave them that impression!! What about you mouse X

Nw85 · 09/01/2017 19:01

Amz that's not great is it.. I'm dreading telling my parents as they're not the most supportive and upbeat folk. Very excited to tell in-laws though. I think they'll cry.
I did another clear blue digital today after symptom magically stopped.. I'm 3+ on it so that's fine, was 1-2 on the first one. Did reassure me but that's it now.. no more poas just peeing in a jar for MW instead.

I also popped in to mothercare as is next to boots.. my how the world has changed since having my last baby. I plan on breastfeeding but with my last baby I ended up having bottle feed as he was tiny, prem, I was too ill after having him (won't scare you with details) but anyway didn't work out that way. So anyways... if I'm in this situation again I want this magic prep machine look it up, it's amazing. I nearly cried. If you've ever waited to warm or cool a bottle down at 2am whilst a hungry baby is crying and knowing you have the school run in five hours... you'll understand why I got so excited.

MouseLove · 09/01/2017 19:23

We've not told anyone yet. I know everyone will be overjoyed though as it's a long time in the making. We have been married 8 years this year. Together for 13. I'm sure everyone is waiting with held breath for an announcement. I think my mum already knows though. She's not stupid. Lol

WLMcI · 09/01/2017 19:24

Thanks Amz for the spreadsheet link. Think this might be more exciting for my husband than when I actually told him, as he loves a spreadsheet lol Grin Mouse I'm telling my parents and siblings next week. I would have waited honestly, but we're travelling to the US (where I'm from) this weekend to surprise my dad, and it's a perfect opportunity. Lots of provisos against them telling anyone else though! We're waiting to tell the in-laws until we at least have an appointment with a heartbeat, and everyone else after the first scan (which will be another month for me at least).

TeamLentil · 09/01/2017 19:30

Mouse yes, LMP placed me at 8 weeks but since my cycles are irregular (anything from 26 to 38) we have assumed a very late ovulation. I was having a lot of anxiety since I'm a first timer and over 40! Confused

EssentialHummus · 09/01/2017 19:57

Signing in, hello everyone. I am due on 8 September. This was our first cycle of trying and it's all still sinking in!

Has anyone seen a GP / had a midwife appointment yet? I've filled in the self-referral form for midwifery referrals online, about a week ago, and haven't heard back yet. I'm a bit worried because I'm hypothyroid. I've increased my dose of thyroxine in line with the NICE guidelines but I need a medical professional to weigh in.

Slinkier I'm also in SE London (Brockley). Will start looking up pre-natal yoga etc soon but I don't feel pregnant enough yet, iyswim.

Shwighty1 · 09/01/2017 20:15

I've told parents, in laws and my sisters and sil so basically all immediate family! I also had to fess up to my yoga buddy as I could do any gave down exercises as my norks were killing me this morning!! I'm away at a boozy work conference next week with my boss who had already declared me as her wine buddy so I fear I may have to tell her too! Eeeek! Bloody conferencea are a nightmare. Nobody would believe me that I'm doing dry January either

Amz26 · 09/01/2017 20:40

Nw85 yeah I get what you mean! But the funny thing is my parents are divorced so it's a little strange they care so much! They were more excited when my brother told them he was getting married! I think a baby is the best news ever.. It's not like we've been together 5mins.. We've been together 10years, since we were 16 😀 So it's a long time!!

WLMcI no problem at all!! Haha my OH also loves a spreadsheet 👌

Welcome newcomers xx

Amz26 · 09/01/2017 20:42

Shwighty1 I also had to tell my training partner as she was a little confused why I wasn't doing my normal weights with her hahah.. Your boss sounds fun, but you're right you may have to tell her X

TiredandGrumpy2014 · 09/01/2017 20:42

Hello all. Can I join? I will definitely follow this although not sure how much I'll actually get round to posting!
Due date around 7th September (not sure as v irregular periods). We'd been trying for a year so v excited to find out I am pg- especially as I had some bleeding and was convinced af was on its way. This will be dc2- I have a dd who is 3. And 2 feline fur babies!
We haven't told anyone yet- last time we told people quite early but am quite enjoying our little secret at the moment! I have very few symptoms which I'm trying not to take as a bad sign.
Have been off work today as dd ill with diarrhoea so lots of time on the sofa watching Frozen and paw patrol- and me browsing baby stuff!
Congrats everyone else too!

Shwighty1 · 09/01/2017 21:19

Amz and nw I'm had that last time! I wasn't married when my pfb came along, I have since got married (to his dad) so they are all much happier this time round?!?!

Btw if you do go on to get married and have further children and you're UK based you have to reregister the births of the kids married out of wedlock. If you don't and anything should happen to you the children born out of wedlock don't have as much right to your estate as those born in the marriage!!!!! Hmm
