Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

Hi

flymo79 · 10/01/2017 05:38

Hello! Been lurking, had a couple of faint bfps this week and cramping/sore boobs.... It will be dc2 for me if it sticks. Everything crossed for us all!

TeamLentil · 10/01/2017 08:10

Welcome both!

Amz26 · 10/01/2017 10:41

Welcome everyone new :)

Shwighty1 Thanks for letting me know that! It's always good to know :)

How is everyone day? X

totallyLosingIt · 10/01/2017 10:41

Hi all,
After many failed attempts to login to Mumsnet, I am at last here! I have been stalking you all for a little while Smile
Due mid-September with #2. I am sure that I am more anxious about everything going ok than I was with #1 (though that was a textbook pregnancy!)
I am also sure that my symptoms of pregnancy are all coming on quicker and stronger this time around. Anyone else?

oliversmummy26 · 10/01/2017 12:01

Schwighty that's very interesting about registering births...what happens if you have a child out of wedlock with a different partner, then go on to have children with a new partner who is your husband...do those children get precedence over the eldest born out of wedlock?

Finally got sore boobs yesterday, I was so happy! Smile Just desperate for some morning sickness now, then I'll feel lots better!

WhiteLily86 · 10/01/2017 12:17

Afternoon all! How are we all today? That is me 6 weeks today. Slowest time ever....

Went to the docs today, just a viral infection! Great. Sticking to paracetamol. It was so good to tell someone our news though haha. Mentioned the spotting as a side note and doc started off negative saying 'all miscarriages start with spotting or bleeding of some sort' Confused but then said some ridiculous statistic 'that 80-90% of ladies who have spotting have perfectly normal pregnancies' so that is good too. Keep thinking positive. Dreams are getting weirder. Still no sore boobs or actual sickness. Felt a bit sick a few times very early in morning.

Welcome all newbies!

Travelgeek · 10/01/2017 13:34

Hi Ladies,
Nice to see the group expanding.
That's a reassuring stat to hear whitelily.
I've found what looks like a great pre-natal yoga class near me already hummus but need to complete a medical questionnaire signed by a midwife first, which means I'll need to have actually seen one before I go.
Had my gp appointment this morning, just ran through taking folic acid, no booze or nice cheese, etc.
Here they send a letter to antenatal and ask them to send me an appointment so now I just have to wait for a letter in the post!
Thankfully still no vomiting here yet but the nausea and weird twinges and tiredness are now accompanied by boobs that feel huge, though DH doesn't think they look any bigger! and a lower back ache.
When the nausea subsided over the weekend I worried a bit, so although its an uncomfortable feeling it is kind reassuring.
Trying not to get carried away as still so early but spent too much time at the weekend googling baby carriers/ slings and real nappies and all sorts!
Anyone else doing the same?

MaybeTimeNow · 10/01/2017 18:36

Evening all. So many of us now. Has everyone got their booking in appointment sorted yet? Here you have to complete an online form, then they'll get back to you within 2 weeks... it's been a week and I want someone to call me now! It was much simpler when the doctors organised it, though I understand why don't anymore, too much to do and too little time.

Shwighty1 · 10/01/2017 18:54

olivers I've no idea I'm afraid, I'd call your local registrars office (local council?) And ask them?

I've been outside hiking pretty much all day with work, have got home utterly exhausted and passed out on the sofa whilst dh and ds played in front of me, I slept for over an hour!!!!!!!!
Welcome newbies x

EssentialHummus · 10/01/2017 18:58

Same here maybe. I filled it in a week ago and am on the verge of phoning them because I feel like it's gone into the ether.

Gingerbreadmam · 10/01/2017 19:17

I've got my booking in Monday 30 Jan when ill be 8+2 bit earlier than normal due to all previous complications.

Not particularly excited about it i remember last time it was just lots of paperwork but will be glad to go over my history and then get the ball rolling with scans.

MouseLove · 10/01/2017 19:19

I have my first midwife appointment on the 27th when I'll be 8+4 I just rang my doctors and made the appointment. They were lovely. It's a pretty new practice so I'm not sure if that's quick or normal. I would think the community midwife is only in the practice once a week (mine is Fridays only) so I'm guessing when she goes in it might be that her diary is private? My docs said it was an hours appointment so god knows what they do!!

calimommy · 10/01/2017 19:23

September 8th or so I believe. Scan in 3 weeks to see if the bean is growing. Hopefully baby 3# for us, we have a 3yo and 1yo now who will be 4&2 in July...giving me a few months grace before baby, all going well!! I've had two losses, 9&10 weeks, in between my two successful pregnancies, so waiting for a good scan before I start looking forward to the future.

lilyborderterrier · 10/01/2017 19:32

I'm 6+5 and don't wish the morning sickness, I've felt rough since Saturday, so sick and have even been sick, I'm having to force myself to actually eat :(
I don't remember it starting this early with my first, but I am 5 years older!
I just rang my midwife at the local doctors and they booked me in for the 23rd when I'll be nearly 9 weeks.

MaybeTimeNow · 10/01/2017 20:06

Hummus I'm the same, it says after 2 weeks to chase them. I had severe Pre eclampsia in my last pregnancy, so am anxious to chat to someone medical.

Sounds like most of you have the nice way of actually speaking to someone, I'm quite jealous.

As a complete aside, I thought my DS had made a hole inside his ear earlier, turned out it was just a chunk of glitter.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 10/01/2017 20:17

I had my appointment dates through the post today, a week and a bit after filling in the online form. 9th Feb for booking in and 20th Feb for scan. Officially I'll be 10.5 weeks by the time of the booking in appointment but I think I'll be nearer 11.5. I've booked a private reassurance scan for 26th Jan so we shall see!

BlessedWithBaby · 10/01/2017 20:35

Hi all, ok if I join? I have jumped over from a quiet thread Smile I'm due sept 8th with my first, I'm 5+3 so far. I have a doctors appointment on Thursday, not really sure what to expect though.

I am so tired tonight!! And my boobs are so sore Blush

Somedays · 10/01/2017 20:49

Hello, can I join too? EDD is 12th Sept, baby no.4 Blush but this is definitely the last one!

SJ2ndTimeMummy · 10/01/2017 21:23

Hi all, No symptoms here yet just some tender boobs! Didn't have anything with DS so perhaps just the way for me - or just too early!

I've had to self-refer online for my 12 week scan but still have to call my GP to make my booking in appointment - called them yesterday and as the midwife is only in the surgery on a Wed afternoon they have no free time before week 13!!! I have to call the overflow midwife at the hospital tomorrow and see where they can send me! I went from feeling very ahead of things to feeling a bit stressed.

NW you mentioned the Tommy Tippee Perfect Prep machine and I had it with my DS - it is a life changer! I want to BF but if it doesn't work then I have the machine ready to go.

Anyone have a different opinion on finding out the sex from their partner? We kept it as a secret with DS but I really want to know this time and DH adamantly doesn't. I guess that means I can't find out?? Not sure I could keep it a secret!

MrsK8541 · 10/01/2017 21:30

Booked my first midwife appointment today for 13th Feb when I'll be 9+3. Have also booked a private scan for 28th January to check all is ok as each of my previous pregnancies have ended in miscarriage Sad Feeling very nervous for this time but hoping for third time lucky!

I'm taking the sore boobs and nausea as a good sign!

EmFe · 10/01/2017 21:32

Hi new joiners, congrats

I think its all going wrong with me :( still spotting and now back pain. I heard these are tell tale miscarriage signs. Also my boobs stopped hurting today and clear blue only 2-3 weeks.

EssentialHummus · 10/01/2017 21:35

em Flowers fingers crossed it's not mc.

MouseLove · 10/01/2017 21:41

Emfe how many weeks are you Hun? I wouldn't worry as spotting can be very normal in pregnancy. X

Still no symptoms here. Boobs not changed and no sickness. My belly is bloated and delicate and tmi non-urgent poops in the evening but nothing much else.

Anyone keeping a diary or taking photos. I'm probably way ahead of myself but ah well, I'm enjoying the idea of being pregnant. I've done a few weeks in my pregnancy journal. Set week 6 up last night.

WhiteLily86 · 10/01/2017 21:59

Aww that is a great idea mouse! So cute.

Fingers crossed for you EmFe, so hard not to worry at this stage. This is my first so I am glad to have the mumsnet support to bounce things off of, otherwise it would be doctor Google and that is dangerous
