Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

I threw up this morning Sad. Felt fine when I woke up but pretty nauseous 20 minutes later. So I reached for a ginger biscuit that I'd been storing near the bed, but eating that prompted me to hurl! I've bought some plain digestives now instead! Fortunately nausea-free this afternoon and evening, still not much appetite though.

littlepooch - wow so many of us on here! Where abouts in London are you from? X

guigirl14 omg you're so near to me!! I work in Muswell hill but live in north Finchley.. Haha I love tomato soup so much I've had it a lot lately too!! Yummy :) it's Defo worth it tho!! UCH is meant to be really good, I'm thinking of going to The Royal free as its a little closer :)
I didn't realise that was low, did you get your bloods done at the doctors? X

Amz26 · 04/01/2017 19:26

londonfeather - that's meant to be a great hospital too! I guess you're living close by?

Aduck - sounds like a lot of ladies are feeling sick early on! Glad to hear you're feeling better this evening X

MouseLove · 04/01/2017 19:42

Ok you ladies are making me wonder. Why are you self referring to hospitals?? Sorry, is this something I should be doing 😂

I'm up north. Manchester to be precise. So an early scan would be half the cost at £50.

Stalingrad · 04/01/2017 20:05

In London too. Fulham. Will be having baby at Chelsea and Westminster where I had number 3, but i have also birth at St Thomas' and Queen Charlottes. All good but C&W was my best experience. I'm actually there at the mo but in children's ward not maternity.

goiaba · 04/01/2017 20:28

I live in Lewisham so might visit the local hospital which apparently has good service. My doctor told me that even after you have chosen a hospital, if you are not happy with their service, you can change to another one. That's something that apparently not a lot of ladies know.

I've got my booking appointment for the 24th, so excited. I've booked the morning off work, I know I could of got it paid but it's 9.30am and my boss expects me to go in to work first which is 35mins journey each way... I'd rather just go in at 1! Not so bothered about using holiday as I'll have enough time off 😂😂

ADuckNamedSplash · 04/01/2017 21:21

Thanks Amz! x

MouseLove - Wow, that's a pretty decent price!

Amz26 I had a blood test at the doc's because I also have an underactive thyroid, needed to be checked as in pregnancy they up your meds, so I asked if they could check my HcG at the same time. I think you can just ask at any time?

Mouselove I only self-referred as in London it seems to be encouraged early on to get you "in the system" (saves the GPs time!), or at least that's what my friend was told who then said the same to me. I guess the thing is since we can all supposedly choose where we want to go in the NHS, and if you have a choice of hospitals around home/work, then it makes sense to self-refer to make sure you're booked in at the one you want.

50 quid!!! - yet another reason I wish I lived up north (we feel we would be mad at the mo to move given my and DH's family are in and around London for support, plus our closest friends all live within a few streets of each other)

littlepooch · 04/01/2017 22:00

I'm in SW London too - Richmond. I have the choice of Kingston or Chelsea and Westminster but will go for Kingston as I had fantastic care there when I had DD and was very happy.

Amz26 · 04/01/2017 23:19

Wow so many Londoners 😀
goiaba That's really good to know, I didn't know that was an option!!
guigirl14 ok thanks I might ask to get my bloods done at my appointment on the 11th as I want to see what they are!!

So I just tried to DTD with my OH but he was a little freaked out about the whole thing.. Is this common? He said he doesn't want to hurt the baby!! I understand what he means as I was a little unsure as well but I've read that it's very safe to DTD whilst pregnant X

So far so good, a small amount of mucus-like dark brown (tmi) yesterday and nothing when wiped this am. Fx it was all normal spotting, i've never had irregular bleeding in or out of preg (except for chem) so all new for my body.

Had a crazy bad dream which made me get up to check on DS at 5am and now i'm starving at can't go back to sleep! He will be waking soon so a nap might make more tired, i was in bed by 8.30 last night as was nodding off on the sofa!

Nw85 · 05/01/2017 09:23

@kskfred Glad it's not just me with crazy dreams, that's good about the bleeding, hopefully no more and you can relax x

laurenmumtobe · 05/01/2017 11:29

Littlepooch- I am in Twickenham- thinking to go to Kingston- so you'd recommend? West Middlesex is closer but I've seen some bad reviews on NHS site. It's either Kingston or Westminster & Chelsea but that's a bit far.

Am feeling incredibly rough at the moment- I'm lucky as I work from home - I don't think I could face going into an office everyday right now! It's like a constant hungover feeling- not been actually sick yet (fingers crossed!)

Wondering if people think it's worth it to have an early scan next week? I am getting quite a lot of period type pain and seems to be more so on one side so might be worth checking out. It's all so new to me- don't know what is 'normal'! Will be 6 weeks Saturday.

MouseLove · 05/01/2017 11:37

Lauren. I'd personally wait a few more weeks. Usually places won't scan you until you're in your 7th week as they might not see a heartbeat until then. I think I'm waiting till my 12 weeks now. No worrying signs so I want that one to be a special one. I'm not sure I'd like to see a blob personally.

Nw85 · 05/01/2017 11:38

I'd speak to your gp if your having pain, they might send you for one.
I've just signed up for boots parenting club, anyone else?

Gingerbreadmam · 05/01/2017 11:38

I don't really like the idea of early scans. There's not really anything to see and the reassurance is very short lived.

Period pains are a symptom if theyre not severe i would just assume things were going will.

Its each to their own though.

MouseLove · 05/01/2017 11:51

Ooo Nw, no but I know what I'm doing now lol. I signed up to Asda toddler and baby club. They have a January baby event but I won't be buying anything. They have one in April and August too. So that's bargains galore!!

Nw85 · 05/01/2017 12:02

I'm holding off buying, although we bought a vest from mothercare before we got pregnant 🙊

Kskifred · 05/01/2017 12:23

Just got a bfp 1-2 weeks on a digi so feeling better now it's in black and white. Although they were getting clearer was still second guessing myself. Excited! x

Amz26 · 05/01/2017 12:26

I haven't signed up for anything yet! Is anyone thinking of doing any extra antenatal classes? X

Gingerbreadmam · 05/01/2017 12:31

Thats great news ksk how far along are you by last period?

Gingerbreadmam · 05/01/2017 12:33

If all goes well i am thinking of doing a hypnobirthing class / course.

Not sure about anything else. I am kind of interested in NCT but not sure its worth the money. Would be nice to make some local new mam friends though.

Having said the my bff should still be on maternity leave so ill have at least one person to spend time with.

Kskifred · 05/01/2017 12:43

I will be 4 weeks tomo I think, i have fairly short cycles and got bfp at 10dpo so i'm still really early on. Basing most of this on FF charts lol x

Gingerbreadmam · 05/01/2017 13:31

Oh great news. I had a bit of spotting n 26 & 27 then got bfp 31st!
